Just wondering if anyone out there has figured out a way to have the apps that came with the phone (ie. SenseTV, BlinkFeed, DotView) work after the Windows 10 Update?
-Hawk
There is no way...Sad but true..
I tried each and everything but i failed...
finally i hav to roll back to 8.1, download all required apps and then install win10..
remember.....dont reset the phone after win10 or else u will lose the apps
There may be a way to backup the apps on windows 10 using interop unlock after updating from win 8. After doing so, I'd save them to SD card, and perform a factory reset. Then Re- interop unlock, Install backup utility again and install from sd.

So when install a new rom, its a clean install so theres no apps or anthing.
to get all the apps back i just appbrain and install all the apps that i have sync'd from my previous rom.
this takes FORRREEVVVVEERRRR because it prompts me to install each app one by one from the market.
theres got to be a better way to do this.
i cant seem to find anything though, some people said to use titanium backup but that was even slower because it takes longer to prompt you to install each app.
is there some way that you can install a whole group in one go.
also assuming that i go from a 2.2 rom to a 2.2 rom, the apps that i have installed on my sd card, will they remain installed after i flash a new rom?
please help this would be flashing such a easier process!!!!
oh and i have a rogers captivate i896 on rogers.
thanks in advance guys!
Backup to your desktop before you flash, wipe, then use adb to mass install the apps. Cd to the folder you saved your apps in, "adb install *" should do the trick.
Could someone point me the direction of some tutorial or guide on how to do this as I'm not to comfortable with adb

I would also suggest Titanium Backup. Appbrain is a pain because it asks you to accept and download the apps one by one. But with Titanium Backup you just go to the backup screen then do a batch reinstall of all missing apps. Plus, if you choose to you can also back up the data with the apps. So once you choose to reinstall the apps there is also an option that says reinstall apps + data. it might take about 5 min. depending on how many apps you have, but its just a push of one button. As far as the apps staying on your SD card, I don't believe they stay there. The only apps that stay are in the market and they are your purchased apps. Unless your using a new rom, sometimes the sprint apps are taken out and put on the sd card. Hope I helped. Take care.
cool this is the best i have heard yet on android os
I'm trying to figure out the best way to install a new rom/firmware. Here is the process I have been using to date but I'm sure there must be easier way then doing all this.
1. Reinstall firmware/rom.
2. Check recovery to see if it still works. If it doesn't reinstall it.
3. Install su through recovery if necessary.
4. Install a file manager if necessary.
5. Install titanium backup.
6. Install Apps2SD
7. Install 10 apps at a time (so memory doesn't fill up) then use apps2sd to link to SD card.
8. Check to see if everything is running smoothly. If it's not do a wipe at this point and go back to step 4.
This is a time consuming process and I'm looking for ways to improve the process. Especially at step 7. It takes forever to load the apps then link2sd. Is there another way to do this part so memory doesn't fill up? Even when I check the option to auto link it doesn't auto link when installing apps from titanium.
I don't use nandroid. I've tried it in the past and the restoration usually ends up being pretty buggy. I've spoken to a few friends and they don't do it either. i'm not sure if it's possible that I will brick my phone without doing a nandroid backup but I haven't yet.

EDIT: I opted to use Titanium Backup to handle a complete backup of my data and apps, so the backup is no longer an issue.
So now I have Ubuntu and Prime! v1.8 installed alongside each other, and I'm wondering how exactly I would go about installing future updates to my Android install without touching the Ubuntu install. Currently most updates require CWM to be installed, but of course CWM has been replaced by a recovery that loads my Ubuntu install. Is there a way to install a recovery capable of both dual booting Ubuntu and handling Android updates? Or perhaps is there a way to temporarily use CWM without actually installing it?
Apparently, cwm recovery doesnt recover non-apps.. :-(Be careful in case nvflash recovery is the same?
I went ahead and used Titanium Backup to make a complete backup of my data and apps, and it seemed to work okay after attempting a wipe.
i just integrated my updated system apps for my nexus s 2.3.4 root. it disabled market, music, and a few other apps. the only way i can think to reverse it would be to simply install a different rom.
But i am now unable to do so. Not thinking i ended up removing all apps from my phone in an attempt to completely reset it to stock, but it didnt change anything with the os system data. the files still dont work properly and keep force closing.
i can use my phone so its not a complete brick.
but how do i go about regaining access to market and other system apps?

If i was in your situation, I would try one of the official OTA updates that are a full rom. you will loose root and custom recovery, but those are easy to re-obtain. Since it's a full rom, it will rewrite all system apps and/or updated apps that are system integrated.
As always, since you are not coming from a full stock rom, A full wipe/reset should be done once flashing
i tried that actually. my issue was then error 7. it wouldnt verify the signature. all of the methods i have seen to make it verify the signature require me to have some apps on my phone and the ability to use market.
i also downloaded the sdk package and the adb software. i can link my phone up to it and lock/unlock the oem that way; but when i do a search for devices, it doesnt show my phone as a listed device. i tried to simply install titanium backup anyway to at least get my apps back and es file explorer, but it says device not found.
it really has become a puzzle for me.
and it is a stock rom. i just rooted it. unless that un-stocks it??
I've only ever seen the signature error on the incremental updates. Make sure you use the full ROM. Alternatively you could look for a CWM image of stock.
Root will not prevent an ota from being applied.

I rooted my galaxy note pro 12,2 and uninstalled a lot of original apps. The uninstaller was unable to restore them, therefor did a factoryreset in hopes it would be as new... It did not, now the files are lost forever and i did not take a backup before I started the rooting Is there a way to do a proper factory reset, where all the original apps, settings and files are restored?

Hi!
1: You don´t explicitly state this but it sounds to me like you still have your device up and running. At the very least to the level of being able to do a reboot.
If this is the case then do the following:
If you can then connect the tablet to a computer to wich you have Kies 3 installed in the latest flavour.
Access whatever you want to save and back up to PC.
If you cannot access the file system currently i see no way around ditching your user files.
2: Go to Sammobile.com and download a bog standard Rom from your area and possibly your provider
Follow instructions on the site for installation. See this example. (Note: You have to have Kies 3 installed for the drivers. Even if you can´t back up user files)
When you have reinstalled a std. rom you can reroot and try again.
