You have "recovery.img"?(T550KLC)
If it's to be made, I want that.
That can be helpful to me.
I'd like to return a recovery.img to stock.
Thanks.

hi.
Many times, I'm sorry.
I'd like to do a backup of a ROM.
Because there are no custom recovery of "Pegasus2 plus",
I made a custom recovery.
But I failed.
Do you have a custom recovery?
If you have a custom recovery, I want that.
Thanks.
x550 asus
Where did you get this phone's official rom?
Can you make a custom recovery or custom ROM for this phone?
Even if you can not make it, I hope others will make it.
After installing this ROM ota update doesn't work.
How to fix it? What is the last number of ROM?
The Latest Version on my T550KLC, is LMY47V.CN-92.0.1.31-20150917
Is newer then the Downloads here... I bought it 1 Month ago.

If someone has a working custom recovery, please post it here, we would all be very grateful.
I have tried to portTWRP but touch does not work, otherwise it runs well, is only not usable just via the TWRP-Manager app, can I create backups and restore them.

I Try,
at first, be sure you have oem unlock and usb debbuging enabled in Developers options. And all Drivers for Windows installed.
I'm not sure if the unlock-oem switch in Dev-options unlock the Bootloader, that's why I use adb/fastboot to unlock it correct.
short:
install adb/fastboot, check if your device was found from adb (type commands in cmd):
Code:
adb devices
it shows if device was found then
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
let it reboot, now you are in fastboot mode
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
check unlock status
Code:
fastboot unlock-info
Code:
fastboot reboot
So you have a unlocked Bootloader for later use of TWRP!
Lets root your Asus
I tried many ways to root but they all don't work at the first try...
At the end I used the kingroot app from kingroot.net( try multiple times and reboots), if kingroot don't work, try Kingoroot app and Windows Version, from kingoapp.com (also multiple times and reboots)
After a lot of try's you have root.
Now you can install Flashify and RASHR from PlayStore and flash TWRP image.
I uploaded my ported TWRP image, but touch don't work, if you want to use my TWRP, you can install zip or create/restore Backups only with third party apps like TWRP-Manager...
I portet the TWRP.img from Asus Zenfone Selfie and Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, because they have the same specs.
I can't post Link to TWRP, use https://

No i have no Manual, search for Android Image Kitchen.
You need your Stock Recovery and a TWRP Custom Recovery from a matching Asus Device like Zenfone 2 Laser or Selfie...
Unpack both images with AIK (Android Image Kitche) you must copy two Files (I forgot whitch files) from Stock to Custom Recovery Image and the repack it.
Also touch don't work, we have to add the right touch-drivers to our custom image, because Zenfone Laser/Selfie have diffrent touch drivers then Pegasus2 Plus, but I'am not a pro in porting images to other devices.
Read some Posts here and watch youtube Videos to port.
Good Luck
Sorry, TWRP was not ported from Zenfone 2 Laser/Selfie
Sorry I confuse the images, I ported TWRP from an "Honor 5x" image, because Zenfone Laser/Selfie (Z00T) don't work.
I ported the Honor 5x image again today and reuploaded it. (smaller image now)
who want it,can download twrp-3.0.2-0-kiwi.img , here:

Hi I just got one of these phones. Do you have any plans on trying a custom rom? I'm also interested in a recovery. Kingroot works so thats a bonus. Really would like more settings options, coming from a Note II to this almost makes me want to go back.

Hi, at the time I plan nothing about custom rom or custom recovery. for this device there are neither recoverys nor roms. And there will probably be nothing in the near future.
I would also like to get away from this asus device because the ZenUI is bugy and there is no custom rom available.
If I have a new phone then I test custom rom of similar devices as asus selfie/laser or Honor 5x, maybe they work on Pegasus 2 Plus.

Yes, some apps like "Kernel Adiutor", read the values of the battery with 2000 mAh.
Kernel Adiutor shows me also 2000mAh. It can be an error of the app by reading the values or Asus cheating on us, with the Battery size....

I've now had this phone for a few weeks and it's battery is crap. I have tried a number of hware apps and all show 2000mAh and I believe it. Really crap battery. Also very unhappy with dialer, messaging etc. All are crap and are not intuitive at all. Too many features can't be adjusted and are virtually unsusable without adjustment.
Regarding Kingroot, I used it successfully but then realised it was constantly showing ads and sending data from my phone, so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately, without root you can't uninstall it completely. What a catch 22. Anyway. There are no custom ROMs available and no plans for an update from Lollipop, even though the phone is only a few months old. It's really a rubbish phone. Too bad there were no really honest reviews of it before I bought it. If you just look at the specs it looks like a terrific phone, but I am so depressed with the shockingly poor GUI by ASUS.

I agree with your opinion.
I asked asus about the battery, but I got the unanswered answer to go to the service center.
It will be good for the world that the dirty company like asus disappears.
This phone seems to have sold a lot because it is cheap.
Does anyone else who bought this phone have any talent?

Warning: Your Warranty is void. I am not responsible for any kind of bricks or software failure! Only for MTK6752 ! And not for the same Numbered Tablet. this guide is for the Phone.
The Lenovo S8 7600 Golden Warrior is a very nice phone with some quite good specs. Only cons I could find was that it has none of community and tons of bloatware which is unremovable. Yet!
Lets root it, Guys.
You Need:
Model A7600 Only:
1.The Lenovo Firmware including Chinese TWRP which is provided here by me:
(Thats the only one i could find. If anyone is Brave enough to make an English Version and wants to upload it for this thread fell free to do it.)
Firmware:

English TWRP:

TWRP Recovery(Chinese):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzt5QqUHjbg3aXRTMkFSczZoZWM/view?usp=sharing
2.SP Flash Tools. This will be Needed for flashing the Sock Rom Incl. Recovery. Version 5.13xxxx Minimum Requied.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/zx5m9mp3x5p413h/SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1452.00.zip
3. The Meadiatek Driver(Explains itself i think)
http://d-h.st/1PN
4. The SuperSU.ZIP (Thanks Chainfire, we love you)
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
5.(optional) If you want to use the Google Apps i recommend Downloading the GApps Mini for 5.0 from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/gapps-mini-t3089612
Now Lets get Started:
1. Unzip the Driver Package and Run the Exe. After Installation, restart you Computer. If using Windows 8, disable Signaure Driver Enforcement.
2. Turn Off you device. Open the SP Flash Tools Folder and run Flash_tool.exe as Administrator.
3. Now Unzip the VibeUI Firmware Package. In SP Flashtools klick on Scatter Load. Navigate to the VibeUI Folder and choose the MT6752_Android_scatter.txt.
Edt: Some People Including me had Problems with the Scatter File. However, If getting errors, try creating your own scatter file referring this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151251
4. Check if every Downloadfile exept the System is Checked, else you will get an error.
5.IMPORTANT: Go to settings, Download and CHECK the DA DL All with Checksum.
6. Klick on Download.
7. NOW the Tricky Part. Remove the Battery. Insert it again. Now leave the Phone Turned off and plug the USB Cable in, but holding the Volume UP button.
8. If you get a Red Bar and a Yellow followed by some grey in SP Flash tools you have done it right. If the Flash was successfully, you will get a green tick mark as passed.
9. Now unplug USB and take the battery out and pop it in again. Boot the Phone. Dont get shocked if it doesn't boot up fast, it usually takes about 6-8 Minutes. Be Patient!
10. If the Phone Boots up successfully, configure it and Connect it as a MTP Device on the Computer.
11. Now Copy the GApps.zip and the SuperSu.Zip to the Root of the Phone Memory.
12. Boot into Recovery (Holding VOL UP AND DOWN while turning the Phone on) and flash the two Zips. Its in Chinese but you will
only need to flash it once. Flash Zip is the Upper Left Button. Choose your GappsZip and use the Back Button to get to the main Screen. Now flash the SuperSA.zip.
13.Reboot. If you dont know how to just take off the battery ( Its quite risky so better try using the Buttons. The Layout is the same as in the English Version)
Finished! Now your Device is Rooted and got the Gapps on it. Download Titanium Backup and remove the Chinese Crap Bloatware. You are now the Master of your Device. I would be really happy about Donations, since It was very Hard to get Hands on these Roms and Recoverys.
INFO: Some People Complained about the lost IMEI, Thank you Soyer88 for the fix! Sorry that I was away for too long, I got my finals.

For those of you who lost the IMEI address on this phone, or ANY other, here is simple guide witch solved my problem:
1. Download this http://www.4shared.com/file/aNRAdrvgba/sn_gen.html , or search sn_gen.exe (Dont worry, the program is not translated that isn't a problem)
2. In the ??IMEI 1 field write your original imei address (behind the battery)
3. Click on ??MP0B_001?? - It will create a file on your desktop named MP0B_001.
4. Copy the file in your phone, Install Root Explorer, send the file in data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/ and change the permission of the file (check all boxes)
5. Restart the phone.
Thats it ! This phone is very tricky to flash (or recover) , because of the chipset.. its very rare
I had a lot of problems to fix it, You have to use the right version of Sp flash tool !!!

Hey
Could someone tell me what to do? I flashed a rom and recovery via Sp Tool (not from this guide) on my S8 A7600. It was a custom rom with removed bloatware I found on a Russian site (google translate).
Now I find that my baseband is unknown and no IMEI's either. I didn't notice this in the beginning though, I did root the phone first and cleaned up even further with Titanium Backup, including the default phone and
contact apps.
Don't know if this could have had an impact or not, but my impression is that it has to do with modem driver, which might be a different one (it seems the custom rom was built from chinese rom). Both scatter files (rom and recovery) does not seem to touch the nvram area, although this mtk flashing stuff is completely new to me.
Have any tips? This chipset is new for IMEI repair, so is unsupported from what I gather.
I flashed another rom I found and the IMEI came back, hurray
Good to know its not some permanent lame fault the mtk engineers would have missed (unlikely). Well now back to customizing romz, the default lenovo rom is far from what I consider usable.

Actually I think I said that wrong. I am now using this rom: VIBEUI_V2.5_ _USR_ST1524_5.1460.1_1506111858_MP6V3_CU_CN_otafull
This is the latest official stock rom directly from Lenovo. I was referring to one of the rom's that's flashed by those shabby vendors, full of adware, malware and viruses.
I was not aware of this situation as this is my first china phone.
To Op: No I did not use your Rom. I've tried a few others and the *Real* stock ota rom from lenovo was the best for me, also the latest stable build. I found it here btw: lenovo-forums.ru(can't post full link)

My Suggestion would be: Download and try my Rom and Recovery. Then download SuperSu/.Zip and try to flash it via Chinese TWRP which i am providing. you can locate the buttons from any other TWRP, even from other phones. If done, you could et root uininstaller and remove the crappy bloatware like i did. then install gapps

I already have chinese TWRP, and I'm rooted. The rom I'm using also does not have any insidious bloatware, except a few chinese apps that don't even require root to remove. Besides I seem to remember the system.img file in your rom was corrupt, tried to download several times.

I got this as ota update yesterday, on official lenovo rom. Btw, this needs to be flashed with stock recovery (rename file as "update.zip")
Actually, you can flash it with TWRP/custom recovery, just tried it
Also, you should flash Gapps after the initial boot and setup, or it may cause problems.

The new firmware is good. So far I've noticed it has solved a big bug with launcher. Previously I could not use widgets with 3rd party launcher (settings fc), now I can.
The launcher bug is still present, but not with Google Now Launcher when flashed with gapps.
PS: Is it ok for me to post this here? Perhaps better to make new thread?

Just got this same Tab for my son & have been looking around for the best ways to root. It's actually a nice little tablet. For $65 I'm quite impressed.
Couple questions for you if I may.
-Does this download have any prerequisite downloads, surveys or ads before it's installed on my PC? You know, junk & not just the program.
-Which super user app is installed?
Kingo root comes with all the files you need with no surveys or bloatware. It installs its own super user program but I deleted it wit ha system app remover and installed super su from the play store. If you can, after you root your tablet can you pull the stock lenovo launcherHD and upload it to here. I deleted mine and you need it to change the lock screen wallpaper.
hI guys!
Good to see topic about our tab 2. Small question - any1 of you got lolipop update already? Week ago Lenovo said it's ready... I have so annoying touch bug and hope update gonna fix this.
The update is not out yet but lenovo said late summer so I would think it would come out sometime in august. Once it comes out can someone try kingo root on it, I'm not updating if I can't get root.

Lolipop is out, but not in every region yet. Sadly, not in mine too (Poland).
forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Android-based-Tablets/Lenovo-Tab-2-A7-30GC-Touch-Input-Problem/m-p/2117299/highlight/true#M24873
Well I tired to get a recovery on the tablet but failed. Mtk tool and sb flash didn't work since the tablet is write protected and also I don't think is works for media tek 8 series chips like it does with 6 series chips. I was going to build twrp but you need a unlocked bootloader to flash it and when I run fastboot OEM unlock it returns three dots. I think my fastboot drivers got messed up after I unhard bricked my OnePlus and that's causing it to return 3 dots. I will try another pc and report back.
Nope it still returned the three dots. Well I'm out of ideas to unlock the boot loader. Maybe a more experienced dev can do it or we can ask lenovo nicely.
Bootloader
According to a thread on the lenovo community... the device has a mediatek proceesor, which can be flashed without unlocking anything using their SP flash tool. Only downside is any custom roms would have to be built for mediatek and using a "scatter" file.
Thread: forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Android-based-Tablets/how-to-unlock-the-Lenovo-A3000-bootloader/m-p/1588718/
Stock Rom: androidxda.com/download-lenovo-stock-rom-models
Flash Instructions: androidxda.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool
The rom's source is also available on the Lenovo support site.
Unfortunately, I'm not expert at anything to make anything happen with this information.
---------- Post added at 08:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:41 PM ----------
Then again, all that may have nothing to do with the A3300, since it's all based on the A3000... but same processor type? doesn't seem like mediatek has any info on their site about it either.

It was like pulling teeth, but I FINALLY got TWRP running on this tablet. It was EXTRA painful for me because the tool I use asks you to select your device resolution and like a dummy, I actually picked 1024x600 (which is the device's resolution in landscape, but not portrait mode.) When the thing finished installing TWRP and booted up, I was locked out of the tablet because the touch elements for twrp to actually restart or even unlock the device ran off the screen making using them impossible. I had to wait seven hours for the battery to finally die before I could access the thing again, (thanks for skipping the reset button on the a7-30F, Lenovo!)
In a nutshell though, I started with Kingo Root, which was successful, and then used Easy Magic TWRP Installer made specifically for mediatek devices, found on another xda thread. JUST MAKE SURE that when it says "Unable to detect your device resolution" that you choose the highest res below 600x1024 (it was like 546x964 or something like that. I can't remember exactly.) After I had a working TWRP, I switched to chainfire's SuperSU
I hope this helps.

Let me know how it works...
The biggest challenge with installing a ROM methinks though, is that you have to use the SP Flash tool to actually upload a rom. I could be wrong... I haven't tried through TWRP. It took me so long just to fix my screw up that I put it down for a while. The SP Flash Tool needs some kind of Android Scatter file, (probably a Lenovo specific MT8127_Android_Scatter.txt), which I have been unable to find or figure out from the source. I'm just not that talented.
It IS entirely possible that just applying a rom via TWRP will work fine, but it's also likely that the system will bark at you. I'm curious to see what happens.:good:
Usually you can get the scatter file for mediatek device with mkt tools but the option is blocked out when I plug the tablet in. I downloaded the cm source but I ran into my first hiccup when I use cat /proc/mtd to extract the boot.img it won't show any of the partitions.

Yeah, I think the mtk tools app is unable to access the root shell on the device for some reason, keeping it from being able to grab the scatter. I'm not sure why it's not working though. I got SuperSU installed and running on the tab, but that application still fails to get to the root shell.
I can't find any time to work on porting cm to the A7-30; Can anyone else give it a shot.?

Hi, as someone who jumped over to Windows phone some while ago, I am now looking toward Android based again, mainly due to the fact I don't like the way windows is heading.
I have my eye on the Wileyfox swift http://wileyfox.com/ at the moment, it looks good bang for bucks and I like the fact it's UK manufactured.
I'm a little unsure when it's released as I have read some articles saying it's released today and others saying toward the end of September, I can't find it on Amazon or Ebay and the Wileyfox website although gives good information on the phones they are some what lacking in purchasing info, which I find a shame.
My other concern is there is no contact information on the website of the manufacturer, which always makes me a little uncomfortable.
Any thoughts on this phone?
Phone sites almost always wont have pricing details, because of the diff country models, and diff prices in diff places
Thank me if i helped ... ?

I went for OPO 64gb in the end. My concerns around the Wileyfox were there was no contact information on the web site, no info on release date although I did receive an email saying it had been delayed until 30 Sept, but looking at the site it's still not released, so lost some faith in them. Something didn't seem right about ordering from a company where there was no contact info for or even details on release.
Anyway, I feel I made the right decision with the OPO and am well impressed, good service from ordering direct and received quite a few extra's that I wasn't expecting ie case, screen protectors.

I just bought a Wileyfox Swift through Amazon pre-order. It came as promised and is a sweet device. It is a shame that the Wileyfox home page has no contact details. I wanted to find out how to root the device. As it's Cyanogen, I thought it would have come pre-rooted but it's not.
Also, because of delivery delays, Wileyfox offered me a year's screen replacement cover free. To avail of their kind offer I have to enter the device IMEI on Wileyfox home page but.....there's no option there....yet.
Amazon,as usual, got everything right but Wileyfox seem tardy. Maybe they'll catch up soon.
The Swift is a nice device but I want to root it. Does anyone have any information about that?
I have made a big mistake. Try to flash a new official rom somebody posted in needrom, and I got hardbrick (qhsusb_buld detect when i connect). I am asking for any kind of advice. I have found some different methods to repair it with qualcomm tools but i dont have the required files.

rooting the wileyfox swift
Hi all,
found out how to root this device!
Here the steps:
1) download supersu zip from here
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
2) save it to your external sdcard
3) follow the steps on this site until recovery is started.
Do NOT flash the Cyanogenmod, only the recovery!!!
https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_crackling
4) reboot directly into recovery. Normal system boot reinstalls stock recovery.
5) install supersu update zip from recovery menu
6) reboot and enjoy root access

It has native LED support, which actually works very well. On my Nexus 4 I used to use Lightflow, but with the Wileyfox I've not needed to use a separate app.

That's intersting. My stock recovery always complained about wrong signature of the update, so I had to use the CM recovery.
Now as I've got root I can read out the ROM. Does anybody know how to build the ROM image so that it could be flashed by recovery to restore the device?

The stock recovery does complain about the wrong signature...so I did USE the CM recover, but I did not flash it, I simply booted into it with:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
This allowed me to flash without replacing the stock recovery
Hey guys, I've followed all the instructions (adb, fastboot etc, fastboot is installed and working correctly etc), but when I try installing the recovery (for cm12.1) it says the system cannot find the file specified?
Any suggestions?
Or is there any other way that I could install the recovery?
I'd really like to start using the 12.1 nightlies

What do you mean with installing the recovery? You download the recovery image to your PC and flash the img file using fastboot. Then reboot and press the power and vol- buttons together.

Should have one in a couple of weeks. Are you able to get to fastboot and/or adb in recovery?
There is a bootloader unlock toggle in developer options, and I have been able to access fastboot. My only concern was flashing a potentially incompatible recovery - I've flashed and rooted a few phones before, but I've always just followed guides. Glad to see you're getting the phone.

Once in fastboot you should be able to do a fastboot oem unlock
From here you might be able to boot a twrp recovery.img from a similar device fastboot boot recovery.img (this wont flash the recovery just boot it to test if it works)
Otherwise a TWRP port will need to be done which will require the recovery.img from this phone. The MK Droid and SP Flash tools dont work with the MT6757 in this phone. I have only found SpaceMKTool to work - but it is too limited in function yet (maybe root function might work).
This is my wife's phone so I have to be very careful at my hacking or she will hack me
Haha, that would not be good. I wasn't aware you could boot a recovery without flashing, kind of like an OS on a USB drive.
I appreciate your effort, it is a shame not many people seem to have bought this phone since it has good hardware and supports every radio band I need (T-Mobile). I'll be waiting patiently to see if you make any progress.

**This is a very early test**
* removed it didnt work *
Its a stab in the dark as I couldn't get the original scatter file off the device but took one from another 6757D device.
The stock recovery image uncompressed OK so thats a good sign. I copied the relevant files across to the port and recompressed.
make sure you run fastboot oem unlock so you can run the test boot.
I wouldn't flash this until you are able to boot it first using fastboot boot recovery.img. If that doesnt work you could try fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot recovery.img
Once I get some time with the wife's phone I will try to boot it but unlocking or locking the bootloader does factory reset the phone so I need to do it when I have time to reset her stuff.
Hopefully you can test but I don't take any responsibility That's the fun or early testing
** Update **
Was able to port from a Meizu recovery and flash. It is working but display is upside down so now I need to work on either getting another one or somehow flipping it.
So the good news is
a. the stock recovery.img is good and I have a way back if I need to
b. I can boot the twrp_recovery and work upside down to backup / root and restore
I'll keep testing for a prefect finish
So this is the twrp recovery ported from Doogee Mix
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3FXCUVt554MZFd1SnRYZW95Rms/view?usp=sharing
** It is upside down - but usable if you think opposite of where the touch should be **
So far I have tested rom backup and that seems to get the right partitions.
I will keep searching on how to flip this darn recovery image.
Thank you for the port, I hope you can get the correct rotation, I was wondering if there is any ROM developer around, I would like a clean optimized ROM for it, pico gapps and hope to get less lag sometimes, if it is possible to get the latest security patch or Android 8.0 it would be awesome too

Just got a new Lenovo s5 (k520 running ZUI 3.7.177 ST) but can't root it (tried KingRoot and Root Genius so far).
It has a nasty little OS (ZUI 3.7) which keeps killing apps it doesn't like. It took me two days to find an adblocker which would work (AdClear) after trying Dns66, Blokada and a couple of others which I can't recall. It's tightly locked down.
* Anyway, my question is... Has anyone had any luck with rooting this phone or OS?
* Or, has anyone any suggestions for apps or rooting options which might be more successful?
If there's any other people out there with this phone, I would seriously consider chipping in to buy one for a dev to work with... give me a yell if you're interested.
Cheers,
Specs:
OS ZUI 3.7 (based on Android O)
CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 2.0GHz Octa core
ROM 64GB
RAM 4GB
Edit: Hmmm, I was hoping that the latest Magisk beta (16.6) might help, but no luck. It does seem to get further along but fails with an 'unable to find boot image' message (my apologies for not being able to quote that accurately). Nothing seems able to find that .img. Can't back it up either as no app can find it. Yes, I need to brush up my adb skills ...my last effort ended in an error reporting lack of appropriate key, as I recall (sorry, have a bit of a flu just now). Anyway, has anyone else been able to look at this phone? Anyone have any ideas (or just thoughts) about what I can do here?
Thanks.
Just to update.... I have tried every simple rooting option I can find -with no luck.
I have found one reference to installing twrp & rooting this phone, but I'm unsure how legit it is ...it just looks a little like its put together by a script; but maybe they just copy/paste a lot when writing tutes? (I have written to them but have had no response from them in a week). The tutorial makes reference to a dev/group in China successfully installing twrp, but only on a Chinese release, not international.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows of the group or people referenced at
http://tutoraplikasi.com/cara-root-lenovo-s5/
or if anyone might have an idea of the dev(s) in China working on twrp & lenovo?
Just a shot in the dark, really, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Cheers.
OK, looks like time for some more serious reading and brushing up of old, much neglected skilz... I will probably close this thread and open another ( if there's no objections) in the xda twrp forum.
If anyone is interested, I'm looking to compile twrp for this device with a view to flashing magisk. Hopefully, it will work. Seems that adb & unlocking the bootloader is the only way I'm going to get to actually see the partitions holding the IMG files etc. (Though I do have one or two ideas about escalating privileges/permissions, but that's a whole other bunch of research -and time which is always short.)
Anyway, if you have an interest in rooting this phone have a look for a thread under twrp Q&A.
Cheers.
Seems like it was just a matter of waiting... XN Logos has come up with a solution, it appears --

Haven't actually tried yet. After all that looking for a root solution I now have been too busy. Will probably do it this Wednesday. I'll keep you posted. Did lineage work well? Any bugs or other issues? ZUI is a dog.
Yeah everything is okay... In the previous updates there was a problem with the audio in ear but now is solved. The only thing that is a little (but not dramatically) worse is battery life because in zui the fact that the os kills every app in background makes the battery last longer.
Hey guys, I know it is no the perfect thread for this yet this phone almost doesn't exist anywhere on the internet. I have the same issue with apps closing as you do. Hello, I'm a lucky owner of this beautifull beast, the Lenovo S5 K520, but with the horfull ZUI3.7. I always have been using Cyanogen and after lineage OS.
It did not luck for me to install it on the Lenovo S5.
I manage to install TWRP-3.2.2-0713 with the help of the S-Droid toolkit for Lenovo S5.
From there, I did try every rom from phh on this page : https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/lineage-phh-treble-t3767690
but the best I did get is the first logo of lineage OS going on and never stop for hours. I also did try AOSP treble Rom from this site : https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/experimental-phh-treble-t3709659, but there I'm getting the Android text changing of ligth theme, but bothing more.
Could you please tell us the procedure and the version of the software you are using so that you are able to use Lineage OS on a Lenovo S5 K520?
Thanks a lot.

Hi i did in this way...
1)fastboot -w
2)fastboot erase modemst1
3)fastboot erase modemst2
4) fastboot erase system
5) fastboot erase boot
6) fastboot erase recovery
7) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
8) fastboot flash boot boot.img
9) fastboot flash system {systemname}.img
The only thing you should do firstly is download the firmware from a video in YouTube whose name is like "ROM Lenovo s5" or something like that and extract the firmware in order to have both boot.img and recovery.img. Hope I could help
P.s. I used phh lineage latest build
Lenovo S5 global version stock rom
Hi everybody!
I was wondering if any of you have a copy of the original ZUI 3.7 non-Chinese stock firmware. I had trouble with my phone and contacted the customer service. Unfortunately, they've sent me the Chinese version (K520_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00011.0_O_ZUI_3.7.355_ST_180412_qpst) and now my phone is almost unusable as the rom only contains crappy Chinese stuff... :crying:
All apps are Chinese and it contains no GApps... I cannot even restore previously save config.
Please help me and send me a backup or the original non-Chinese firmware.
Thank you very much
I didn't even know the existence of an original firmware for non Chinese phones indeed when I bought it it came with a horrible chinese firmware with few translations. Did you find it? Because I want to try it too. If you didn't find it I'm also going to look for it
