S Voice and SMS - Samsung Gear S3

Using my Gear S3 paired with a Moto Z Force and using Google Messenger for SMS. When I try to send an SMS using S Voice I get an error saying SMS service not available. Really need to get this working, any ideas?

Is anyone able to use S Voice with a non Samsung phone to send SMS? Anyone else getting the message "SMS service not available"?

[Q] [NS4G] Getting weird texts from Sprint via 9016

I have received two very unusual texts that don't seem to make much sense to me.
//ANDROID:${from} has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call ${callbackno} to listen. CFGs1840.105f53c3ffe2cafd3961pAZFdYeN//CM

Not entirely sure what this one is referring to. I don't use Sprint Voice mail because I use Google Voice. So my voice mail messages should be on that instead. I've never even bothered to set up the Sprint voice mail as I never have any intention of using it.

Not entirely sure what this one means. Googling it showed that it meant a text was successfully sent and for some reason my phone didn't filter out the message. I didn't send a text when I received this one though.
Both of these were sent from the phone number 9016. Looking it up this seems to be a Sprint number of some sort. I asked some other Sprint Android users if they got anything similar, and they had not. So is anyone else with a Nexus S 4G getting weird texts like this?
Sounds like sprint spam. That's weird that your phone is displaying code. I'd just ignore it.
I just received this today also. Messages exactly same as the OP and on the same phone and carrier ...
Not sure what it is all about either .. any detailed answers?
the message is how sprint handles visual voice mail. did you happen to have a phone before that had visual voice mail and never reset your voice mail settings when you got your nexus?
Joeykrim, big fan.
Try going to messaging app and do the following: send a text to 9999 and as the message type: Block 9016. You will get a text confirming blockage of that #

Had an Evo for 29 days, but I'm brand new to Sprint beyond that. I never set up any voicemail beyond Google Voice though.
Haven't had another instance of these texts yet though, so I'm just assuming a glitch on Sprint's side.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G "Lore" using XDA Premium App
multiple 9016 text messages.
I think i have found a fix for this annoying problem.
Ive found that it happens when u install some other text message app to handle your text messages instead of the stock messaging system.
I believe the 9016 messages are suppose to be hidden or silent messages and not actually get displayed, but when you set another program to handle all the messages, it doesnt know its not suppose to display it.
*So the FIX that i found that works is to,
tell the new text message program to Not Disable other message notifications. Meaning, remove the check mark associated with that option.

S voice problem

I am using CleanRom 1.1-oe2
Kernal version 3.10.61-4823236
Anyway my problem is with the s voice. Everything with it works so far except being able to send a text message. When i tell to send a text message all i get is "this device does not have the messaging function"
The reason i use s voice is because i ride a motorcycle with bluetooth on the helmet.
I have the default messenger uninstalled and cannot figure out to reinstall it even after having the apk. I get the message "App not installed." I am not sure how to install system apps..
I am not sure whether or not s voice can read aloud text messages from people....
So if anyone knows of a better app that allows to send and read text messages aloud using bluetooth. i would appreciate it.

Differences between using with Samsung and Non-Samsung Phones

I was wondering if someone can tell me what to expect differently when using a Samsung phone? I'm currently using my gear s2 with a nexus 6p and thinking of getting the S7 but only if there are enough benefits to using it with the watch. Can someone who is aware itemize the advantages of using it with a samsung phone?
I use it with a non Samsung phone and the only thing not available are the messages and email apps on the gear.

I'm also running the 6p and I receive both messages and emails on my S2, no problem. You just need to make sure they are authorized via the on phone app.
Or are you saying you aren't able to enter or send messages/emails? I've not figured out how to do that .... but trying to do that via the small watch screen would be difficult anyway.

Yes i cant send messages or emails because the apps are missing. But of course i get the notifications on the watch which is enough for me .
I have a problem in accepting calling calls in Gear S2. I can see only Reject button, but no Accept button. I am using OP2. Does anyone has the same issue?
You don't have the e-mail app and SMS app, so You can only view the new ones without attachments if You have proper apps and settings for it (I use HUB for e-mails and Messenger(not the fb one!) for SMS in my BlackBerry Priv).
Also, You cannot answer the incoming call. You can reject + reject with text message, but not answer.
What is more - I found out that using non-Samsung phone the Gear S2 does not see the alarm from my phone. Previously it was vibrating and I could snooze / cancel it from Gear S2. Now I cannot.
I use it with LG G4 and I can't buy any apps... I can install only free apps.
How do u set it up to get messages on the watch. I got the free att gear s2 the 4g model, and I can pair it thru bluetooth with my iphone. When I get a phone call, the watch alerts me, but when I get messages, my watch doesn't receive any messages. I'd really like to know how to get it to receive messages.

[Q] Contacts are getting messages from my number that ask "Do I Know You?"

I've got a Sprint Note5 running MOAR v2.0 OK3. I have Google Voice integrated with my Sprint account and use my Google voice number for everything. I recently switched my default text messaging app to the Samsung Messages app, disabled Hangouts for Google Voice, and connected a Gear s2 Classic smartwatch to my phone. Every time one of my contacts messages me, they get a message asking "Who is this?" or "Do I know you?" These messages do not appear in my SMS or Google Voice logs. What the hell is going on? Can anyone help me out?
UPDATE: I think I fixed the problem. I had old forwarding numbers in Google voice that I don't use anymore. I deleted them and now I no longer have the problem.

Question Is it possible use RCS messages using Samsung messages app?

Hi,
I use RCS messages a lot though Samsung messages app but today I found that all messages sent using the watch go like SMS and not chat messages. Anyone has a solution?
Nope I tried to but no luck. I switched it to Google messages and haven't regretted it on the watch

Google Messages doesn't have the same issue?
Last time I checked RCS wasn't working, and you couldn't send voice messages.
So is google messages having the same issue or not?
By the way, I can't activate RCS in google app, It keep saying to verify my number but nothing happens
