Best Stock-ish ROM for English users? - Xiaomi Mi 4C

I've just learned the ROM on my new Mi-4c from Hong Kong Goldway isn't official. It's "MIUI Global 8.0 | Stable 8.0.16.0(LXKCNCI_20151104_SZ)". Seems that's a common dealer ROM that almost all dealers put on them.
Is the English implementation on the stock official China ROM good enough I should switch to that? Or is the English better in the unofficial EU ROM?
Or is it better I just stick to the dealer ROM, which I've heard has adware in the Notes app, though I could always just disable the Notes app. Is there any feature this dealer ROM has that I'll lose switching to the official China ROM or the unofficial EU ROM?

you can try Xiaomi Eu rom, Miui china doesnt have preinstalled google app and to many china app.
So i think Xiaomi eu rom is better if you want Miui based rom

Definitely switch to Xiaomi.eu or Globe ROM. China seller ROM has spyware and adware. Official ROM has tons of bloat and no Gapps.

Thanks, I got curious so I tried both the official China Stable ROM 8.1.2.0 and Developer ROM 6.12.1. I found a Google Installer v2 app that was able to get Gapps on the official ROMs and that worked pretty well. Most Chinese bloatware was uninstallable, so I guess those were installed to the /data partition and not /system. However, I like to run rooted for many reasons, one of which is disabling system apps I don't want, and the locked bootloader prevents root, so those ROMs were unacceptable. I found there's no way to root the official ROMs with locked BL. Not even Kingroot, which worked on the dealer ROM, could do it.
So you are both correct, Xiaomi.eu ROM is definitely the best and is what I decided to keep. It also gets 64k on Antutu while dealer ROM only got 62k. Hopefully it'll get better battery life than the dealer ROM.
One thing I noticed, I think the dealer ROM is actually MIUI 7, even though it said 8 in the About. Updater app installed on it was for 7 and the default theme looked like 7. I think that ROM was a bit funky in addition to having spyware and adware, so I'm glad to be rid of it.

Replacement for Xiaomi Stock MIUI that can still OTA/less maintenance for non-techie

So I've gotten an Mi 5s Plus for my wife but she wants a more up to date version of Android than what Xiaomi is releasing (current is MIUI 8.5/Android 6.0.1) as they take forever to update.
Obviously I don't want to be tech support moving forward, and I'd like her to be on the latest version of Android. I just really want this to be a set and forget sort of thing, so assuming it would need to be a base ROM of some sort from a major releaser, hopefully there is something released with everything working.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what ROM i could use on her phone so that she doesn't have to worry about updates as she will just receive them OTA?
As with myself she also will require the phone to be NON-ROOTED for her work, along with banking apps (which I'm assuming you can always remove root/lock the phone after installing the ROM).
I don't mind if its a version of MIUI or not but I'd like it so that all the features of the phone still work which I'm assuming would be MIUI.
Thanks for any help.
I think Xiaomi.eu weekly ROMs have OTA, but I'm not sure.
If not than maybe Lineage OS.
Ressurection Remix definitely has OTA.
https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/
Have you tried the global developer ROM? It is quite stable from my testing and is updated nearly every week. It is Android 7.0.
Are these OTA updates?
Is the global developer rom certified so that Android Pay works?
Also I'm assuming the updates to this are OTA, if I miss a couple weeks can you just update to the most recent one?
Ressurection would be interesting, thanks. Does it support Android Pay?
@umirza85 Not sure. I'd try but I've rooted it.

all installed apps showing up on the home "pages"?

bought a mix 2s in hong kong last week, it's 128gb so it's chinese version
the store installed google play on it but it's still using the chinese rom (now it's 9.5.18.0 ODGCNFA)
as of now every newly installed app will show up on the home pages which makes them really cluttered
still not sure if it's worth unlocking bootloader and trying the global eu rom instead since i've synced my email on it, i was afraid i will need to go everything all over again
any advice on how to make the apps i want on the home pages to be there instead of each and every app?
thanks in advance

dude, that's MIUI!
if you buy any Xiaomi phone you don't get an app drawer. all apps are placed on the homescreens.
if you want an app drawer where all your apps will be placed and you can decide which one of those are visible on your homescreens then you need to install a launcher. I recommend Nova launcher, but there are many other launchers available.
look at some videos comparing different launchers and choose one to your liking.
whaaaaaaaaat? lol that's so stupid
i'll check out some launchers, thanks man
off topic, but is there any benefit in installing the global eu rom over the chinese one?

Global EU isn't an official MIUI ROM. I really think you would be better off installing the official Global ROM instead. But you need to look at the model name in the about phone screen. If the model ends in XE you have the Chinese model. If it ends in XA you have the global model. If you have the XE version and choose to unlock your bootloader and install the Global ROM it's very important that you don't relock the bootloader which is easy to accidentally do with the MI Flash Tool. If you relock the bootloader you will brick your phone and it will only be good for use as a paperweight.
ok, but is there any actual benefit in the official global rom over the chinese rom?

Better google integration, more languages but less features. Xioami.eu rom is a mixture of both Based on chinese stable but optmized for global use...

I need help

Hello, i recently got new phone and i like it, but i would prefer to get this version of operative system which is called in this world "ROM" if i am not mistaking. Do anyone have guide how to install this ROM to my Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. I had A5 2017 but it died two weeks ago, so i was forced to get new phone, i got that a5 2017 in end of 2017 when i didn't have much knowledge about phones, and i used it as a stock, and now i did little research and i found that this phone is bang for buck as people call it. But i want debloated version of this phone. And i still don't know much about phones, i am really "lost" in this world.
I also wanted to get some other ROM such as GrapheneOS and LineageOS. But i am not 100% sure if any of them support google services, such as google play. My privacy model is specific so i don't mind using gmail and some of google services. Thank you for understanding me. All help is appreciated, can't wait to get this ROM!
Tl;dr If someone can link me updated article where i can find guide how to get EU version of ROM for my new Mi 10 Lite 5G.
If you want Lineage OS or other aosp roms ypu better by another phone maybe an OnePlus or something like that. There is no love for our phone sadly. Maybe you can root the phone and remove unwanted apps. Or you cantake a look at Globe rom it's based on stock miui I used it on my previous Xiaomi phone. They have a website but the "problem" is they only use "global" miui rom as base version so globe rom is based on an older Mi 10 lite 5g rom.

Best ROM alternative for native MIUI apps on Mi 10 Lite 5G

Hello!
I just applied for bootloader unlock for my new MI 10 Lite 5G that came with the Global ROM.
I'd rather not use the G apps, so I would really appreciate your help in finding the best ROM version that has all the native Xiaomi apps and settings.
I find myself in a bit of a pickle, as some uncertainties arrose while looking into the subject:
1. Do I have the Monet version? I bought it in Europe.
2. Is there any official China ROM release for this phone? I'm having problems finding one.
3. I would really appreciate if someone with more experience could share his opinion on xiaomi.eu ROMs. Are they stable, do you recommend?
Thank you, any input will be highly appreciated!

I need MIUI Dialer with call recorder, working stock camera app, working banking apps (like Google Pay!) etc.

Latest ROM while posting this is: xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10LITE5G_V12.0.2.0.QJIMIXM_v12-10.zip

#1 Mi 10 lite (monet) is for the outside china market, so most likely you have monet. The mi 10 youth / zoom (vangogh) is for the China Market. The easy way to find out, if on the camaras is printed 50 x is vangogh, if 48 MP, then is monet.
#2 Unfortunatelly there is not a china rom for monet, only global ones, in which there are two variants, EU for the european market and MI international for the global market. And to bring more misery, only estables ****ty-2,3,4,..months to update. Dev or weekly ones no longer are produce for global market terminals.
#3 haven't tried xiaomi.eu yet ( waiting 7 days to unlock). In general they are as good or bad as the rom's base they borrow it from, minus debload and very few twitches. Yet its the only good choice we have. Miui mix which is the other custom miui, never tried (magisk included in the rom) .
We are f****d

Hi!
I tried both ROMs.
MIUIMIX has been put into BOOTLOOP several times in a row even after a clean installation. Not sure it's a ROM bug, but I haven't experimented with it anymore.
A XIAOMI.EU 12.0.2.0. version is stable, I haven't had a problem with it yet.

Without tried yet both roms (waiting to unlock), it could be a problem with your recovery, i heard pichbkack might have a problem, try twrp from manufrio. Also i presume you did a format data (the yes one)
I will stick with the eu for the time been, don't like that magisk is included in miuimix, I'd rather flash it myself

Theme engine font section

Hi, I'm new in MIUI world, coming from oneplus. In short after a week of waiting I've finally got my phone rooted. Magisk is working root is ok etc.. only thing that I've noticed is that I've no font option in theme engine but from what I've read online it should be there.. My rom is global version, 12.0.8 rooted.
Anyone can help?
EDIT: solved flashing xiaomi.eu rom, lot better than stock global one
Font option is available if you change ROM region to China or India in the Global version of MIUI.
It is also available in Xiaomi.eu, as it's allegedly based on stock China ROM -- although there isn't one...
