[Completed] Unlocking my phone - XDA Assist

I currently have a HTC One M8 (Bell Canada), I've been in stores visted all kinds of websites that want my "IMEI" which I don't know what it does or it's used for
So I don't like the option of giving it to a website for money. My only other option is to go into a store and have some guy charge me 50$ to do it but it would take 24 hours. Another option would be
To go directly through bell which since my phone is inactive they want 75$ + Tax. I mean I'm not a cheap guy but with christmas coming up, perhaps someone on here can give me the cheapest course.
Even if you had steps I would do it myself if need be. Please contact me back. With regards Conrad Selvaggio.

Mint HTC Tytn 2 (Kaiser) for Sale

Hello all,
I've got a mint condition, barely touched, absolutely pristine Kaiser (Tytn 2), unbranded, unlocked unit for sale. I've only had it for 2 weeks..... It's got the latest Dutty Rom installed on it..... screen protector never removed.... not a scratch, smudge, blemish or mark on it. Comes in original HTC box with all included components, accessories & warranty. Looking for $650 including free shipping anywhere in the 48 Continental United States. I have bought and sold many, many devices here, on Ebay, on Howard Forums, and elsewhere. Trust me this is a legit offer, and a great deal for anyone looking to pick up this amazing device. Only selling because my company has given me a 100% free blackberry including service, and I do not need this phone any longer. Please feel free to PM me or email me directly ([email protected]) anytime if you have any questions or wish to purchase this device from me. Pictures definitely provided upon request, but you all know what it looks like.
Thanks!
Scott
You might not find many people here willing to purchase it from you because you only have 2 posts.
Well, the post count doesn't matter as long as he has links to where the feedback is, hofo has one, ebay has one. Its not like he joined today.
I have been a member of this forum for about two years, though I am more of a reader/researcher than a poster. I've been a member of the HoFo forum for about 5 years now. I have over 220 positive feedbacks on my Ebay account (Ebay user ID smk5867). I am legit and my offer is legit. I do appreciate the fact that folks here are careful who they buy from. If anyone is interested in my offer please contact me anytime.
Thank you.
Sorry!
When did the XDA developers forum turn into a classified ads forum?

Stop Snitching! ^^
There are a ton of "For Sale" postings within this forum, so I assumed it was okay to add my own. My intentions are genuine. If this isn't the place to conduct this type of business, just tell me and I will retract the thread and sell my device elsewhere.

Great help provided there!
You Sir have just given a good example of why this forum is going downhill!
I wish to sincerely thank all of you that have hijacked my thread. If this is not the right place for me to be posting an item for sale then just tell me. If it is okay to post an item for sale, then please try to keep your replies focused on the thread. I only wanted to give someone here first crack at buying this device from me (at below market value) before I just throw it up on Ebay and sell it to a stranger.

Selling my VOX

Hello Everyone,
I have decided to sell my HTC S710 and thought I would offer it up here before trying elsewhere. The unit has had its body replaced, so it is in good physical condition. I am including a charger, a black aluminum case, and the old body parts. It is currently loaded with one of the 6.1 ROMS to be found here, probably Dr. Gonzo's, although I am not 100% sure. The phone is unlocked. The original IMEI number sticker is in the original body (included.) The IMEI sticker in the current body is a photocopy. I am asking $100, so please let me know if you are interested.
Thank you!
Scott
I think there is an own forum for selling devices - please go there. You might also want to tell where you are located to estimate shipping cost or pick up. Finally think about the price you ask. Look up ebay what devices cost there to estimate if you receive offers.
seems not so tobbie !!

XDA-Developers isn't a market place and doesn't want to be IMO, we are a development forum. If a Marketplace was setup we would start attracting power sellers and scammers - there's no denying it, you cannot trust anyone on the internet . This would mean xda-developers would then have a responsibilty over what was sold on it's site.
Buying and selling of devices on this forum has caused problems before - a senior member on this forum scammed a number of users by selling devices that didn't exist.
Known users selling a second hand device after an upgrade is allowed (for the moment).
Thanks

The right forum is xda-developers > General discussion > Marketplace

[Completed] Need to Find Cellular (Voice) & Data Tablets

I've been trying to find a 10 inch (or so) Tablet, or Phablet, that has cell and data capabilities. Also, it seems that the cell companies, T-Mo, Att, etc.,
don't have a plan or will even provision one. I've seen a few on youtube and for sale at eBay and Amazon, but those are International units
and don't have 4g/LTE, and are pretty low spec.
I thought the Samsung Tab models came that way, but they don't. Is there a list or a thread that would help me?
Hi,
This thread is for just such inquiries...

That thread is 4 posts and 2 years old. It appears to be for those trying to decide what to buy, I know what I want, I just can't find it or any information on them.
Thanks anyways.
That thread has over 10000 posts and is very current and active. And it's a great place to ask for what you are looking for.
Otherwise, perhaps a Google search? There's hundreds of devices on XDA... You can look through the sections, but I'm sure you will get suggested devices quicker in the thread I linked. ?
My apologies. I just clicked it again, and you're correct. I don't know why it only loaded 4 posts the last time. But, I do apologize.

Don't sweat it! And I'm sure you'll find help there. Tho, where to buy may be tricky... As every region is different.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Whenever a phone lacks a GSMArena entry, I consider that bad news. This one seems very carrier specific (as in Bell commissioned ZTE to make this phone). So I guess we're bringing back the the old days.
Well, so at a glance at the specs on the Bell website, storage is good on this phone, so that a big reason not to need root right off the bat.
My suggestion is to try some rooting methods and document your progress in a new thread here:
> General discussion > Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking
Please note, you will need to register for an account first.
If no luck, and if root is an imperative (don't see why it would based on my first glance, but YMMV), you may want to look at other phones in Bell's line-up (hopefully there's still time for the "no hard feeling's but this phone doesn't do it for me - can I exchange with this one?" expression).
If the latter is the case, you may find this thread useful in the search (cannot remember all that well, but they may have a good BYOD program - I do remember they knock down the plan cost if you bring an unlocked phone in). And if your an east-coaster (like me), Eastlink has a strong BOYD program, that uses Bell's towers.
Hope this helps.

[Completed] Bought used phone, got carrier blacklisted 30 days later. Any way to fix?

Hello peoples,
Title says it all really. Bought a used phone, apparently the seller stopped paying the equipment contract at Tmobile after or shortly before they sold it to me. After 30 days of me using it with no problems, it suddenly couldn't get a signal at all, and the tmobile store said it was "locked for nonpayment" from the original owner. They apologized, said they cant remove the lock, and gave me a loaner phone to use for 2 weeks while I figure out getting a new phone.
I have seen ebay sellers who offer to remove a phone from the blacklist, but they want you to DL software on your pc and allow remote access etc. All stuff i wouldn't do in a million years.
If there is any way to fix this problem so I can actually use my expensive phone, please reply here or send me a message. thanks for any and all help.
(The phone is a Tmobile Galaxy S5, running cyanogenmod 12.1 but can be flashed back to stock to fix this problem if possible).
