Completely stock Note 10.1 stuck on splash screen cant access recovery mode. - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys hope this is in the right area. My brother gave me his old galaxy note 10.1 because he said it wasnt working. It boots to the splash screen and stays there. I can access download mode, but cannot access recovery mode. When I try to access recovery mode, one time it the screen will flash twice, and then the third time and every time thereafter(while im holding the power and volume button) it just boots to the splash screen. When the tablet boots the the splash screen, my PC does chime showing a device has been connected, but it never shows in my pc. I have flashed the stock rom with odin that I downloaded, and it passes successfully, and the tablet restarts, but still same problem. I have let it charge overnight, let it sit at the splash screen for hours, removed the battery overnight to drain any charge. tablet it not rooted, or ever been messed with in anyway. I would hope this to be a software issue because that means I can(hopefully) fix it. So, is there any other portion of the memory I can wipe and reinstall? Does odin completely wipe the entire memory when it installs. If its not software Im thinking of just heat treating the whole mobo and having that be the last go at it. Any ideas or recomendations would be helpful.

I would flash a custom recovery via Odin.
Boot to recovery. Format system cache data .Boot to download mode flash stock rom for your model .

No dice. Flashed CWM and it passes in odin. Cant boot to recovery. Any way to update the bootloader or NAND(i know know nand=bricked device but honestly i dont need this thing and would love to have it broken instead of almost kind of working lol).

If you can find a bootloader flash through Odin.Try sammobile.com.
Nand is the onboard flash ram memory .

ive got one of these, with recovery, it boots to splash screen and stays... i can go through the motions of sideloading a rom via adb, but when the rom is transfered and starts to install, i see a quick error that ive lost root, and the system is read only????
i used the recovery to try and repair root, nada, i then sideload superuser and it says it loaded correctly, but the rom install still fails via sideload...
ideas?

Hhhmmmm your experience shows that maybe it's not software but hardware? Mine is completely stock and has the same symptoms as yours.

Any suggestions on where to find a bootloader?

As my post sammobile .

I've just had this exact same problem with my tablet (gt-n8010) for the second time.
First time it sat in a drawer for 2 months with a flat battery before I took it to a repair center in bicester. They got it working straight away.
This time I thought I'd have a go a sorting it out myself (even though it's been a while since my regular flashing days)
After spending 7hours downloading the stock rom i flashed through odin and retained the boot loop.
I had a hunch that something was being retained in the memory that wasn't being cleared with just reboots so i dissassembled the tab and removed the battery, I then held the power button for about a minute.
I then reconnected all the cables with the battery one being last and powered up the tab.
It then finally proceeded to install the rom package!
So anyone that is stuck in a bootloop for no reason should remove the battery!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
So I had the same issue it sounds like, tried to flash PhilZ recovery over Odin seemed fine I put the PhilZ file and superSU files on the device to continue through and now I am unable to get into recovery mode only download and my tab does not turn off, it sits on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 logo unless I hold the power then it turns off and then right back on again.
Any ideas? I cant seem to find anything
Does your device boot up completely or just sit at the Samsung bootscreen?

Just the boot screen, not even past the first logo
You must have missed a step. Try the process again using this video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO3y7JCqfc8
Follow the directions step by step.
This is actually the video I was using, but, I have tried again and I cant get it to boot into PhilZ. I am able to get to download screen so I have tried a different version as well, but after it gets the pass it disconnects to reboot and then never boots or reconnects until I put it into download and reconnect the device.
Weird. This is the way I installed Phil's touch. I had no issue with it. Make sure your usb is disconnected from your device before rebooting. On the p5113, to get into recovery, hold down power + volume-down, when you see first Samsung big-screen, release power button and continue to hold the volume-down button.

That's what I've been doing and it does nothing. Device sits at that Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 screen. The only way I can turn it off is to plug it into my computer and restart it until the battery symbol comes up and disconnect. That's it.
Not sure what route to take now, but, it still connects to odin and after flashing the PDA to it, it disconnects.
Ok. Tell me. Are you rooted? Can you boot up to your home screen at all? You must be rooted in order to flash a custom recovery.

Rooted, running CM 10.2 [4.3.1]
I didn't even get to that step, I was flashing philz recovery in order to backup before rooting. I was unable to boot anything except the download mode, no recovery mode to factory reset and not able to boot the actual system at all.
I ended up trying CWM and flashing that to the device through Odin and was able to open recovery mode after that and have since flashed Cyanogen to the device and have everything good to go.
I dont know what was wrong with philz, but, I tried multiple downloads of the version we need and none did anything.
Problem is solved, but, there's got to be something wrong with philz recovery for this device or my tablet just doesn't like philz.
Thanks for your suggestions though I appreciate your efforts!
No problem. I'm glad you found a way to fix it!

EMERGENCY! Help Please!

Okay so while I was in TWRP, I was wiping and wiped everything even my internal storage because I wanted to start fresh.
For whatever reason, I didn't realize it would remove my ROMs that were in my internal at the moment.
My phone is now Stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Powered by Android" screen and is recognized in Odin but Odin won't do anything! Is there anything I can do to fix this PLEASE!
Edit - Forgot to mention it will not boot. TWRP told me there was no OS installed and I went back and tried to mount and nothing happened.
I hope this isn't bricked... it's not paid off..
Edit 2 - I cannot turn the phone off... I am going to try to wait until it dies on its own, charge it up some and try to get into Download Mode.
From there HOPEFULLY I will be good..

If you download a Odin flash able Img You will be able to flash it just put your phone in download mode there's no reason this want work
Same thing happened to me just hold the volume down and power button for about 10 secs to power off. Boot into download mode, Odin stock and you'll be perfect again you'll just have to do everything over again.
Did you get it to work? If not here's what to do
1. Download ODIN
2. Download.tar file (find it in Android development)
3. Put in download mode
4. Flash .tar file in ODIN
I did the same thing too lol.

Also it is a good idea to invest in a Sandisk (or any other brand) OTG external. It has saved my butt many headaches. Also good for moving those pesky 10gb+ backups to I picked up a 32gb on sale for like $12 on Amazon. TWRP recognizes it and you can flash whatever you need from it.

G955FD Softbricked. OEM Unlock is Disabled.

Help Help Help :
Can I get some help? I bricked my phone because I was trying to install twrp. It flashed but I got TWRP cant install.Because. OEM locked.
It flashed. Great. But now IT STILL DOESNT BOOT. I'm stuck at NO COMMAND, it keeps restarting after 20-30 seconds of showing no command. and it's looping all over.*
i flashed stock firmware. It is flashed. Then reboot. Then install system update. Then Erasing. Then rebooting. Then NO COMMAND.Then reboot itselve recovery mode. Then i wiped factoory and cache. Then press rwboot to system. Then Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Then install system update.Erasing.No Command. etc. Keeps rebooting. its on NO command screen. It just restarts. Doesnt boot. I want to enable OEM Unlock. I installed combination binary. But not appear in Developer Mode.
i flash atock with Kies emergency.I flash different stock firmware from updato.com. But nothing happend.
I'm a little confused.

KIES says that. (THR) Stock. i downloaded it and flashed with Odin. Then reboot. Then system install update. Then Erasing. Then reboot and No Command! 30 seconds keeps rebooting itself 30 seconds interval Random.
I did factory format, cache clear. then the same problem. i want to install twrp recovery with oden. It says Oem Lock. Not allowed. But i flashed Combinary file. I can get into system and i to developer mode but dosnt seem OEM UNLOCK that ll do enable it.
Ok mate, but if you press Vol- + Bixby + power for couple of seconds, can you access to download mode? If you can, I think you'll have to install the firmware all over again.
Try flashing using latest firmware from sammobile. Use Odin to flash all the files contained in firmware download. Make sure you get latest firmware for your carrier. Google how to flash using Odin. Hope this gets you in the right direction. Good luck finding what u need, do copious amounts of research before attempting any rooting of devices and if all steps aren't clear as day to you then do not attempt it unless you don't mind buying multiple expensive phones to tinker with.
Did OP find a fix to this problem?
I am experiencing a similar issue. Picked my phone up to find had randomly gone into a boot loop. Tried soft reset, cache wipe, factory reset - all successful but the phone would still reboot and be stuck on device model screen. Next I decided to flash the device with stock firmware. The flash passed in Odin, the phone then rebooted, loaded to device model screen, then a screen appeared saying "installing updates" which would make it to 25% then crash. After this the phone keeps booting, shows a screen with a dead android icon and says "no command" or "error". I have tried to flash the device using Oreo and Nougat firmware but have failed every time (although the flash did pass in Odin)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would rather not buy a new phone due to a random hardware fault which is out of my control.

How to fix bootloop (can't boot into recovery or system)?

My Galaxy S7 (SM-G930R4) has decided to not want to boot. I can't boot normally or into recovery. I can only boot into Odin mode.
I've tried to flash stock rom, but it doesn't seem to work. I've heard that I should use the ROM from samsmobile, so I'll try that next.
This all started to happen after I accidentally turned on the phone right before I took the battery out. I put that battery back in and it booted fine, but after a few minutes it rebooted and started to reboot over and over again. It won't even show the charging screen when it is turned off and plugged in.
OK, I tried to flash the stock rom with Odin, but it still is in a boot loop. I've flashed it 3 times. I've firmware files from different sites. It seems that this S7 is dead. Please help!
Try to flash another rom and keep in mind that it sometimes takes up to 10-15 minutes at the first boot.
You could also just flash TWRP...

TWRP for the Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930R4)???
Also, now I've been greeted with the screen that says "An error has occurred while updating the device software." It says to use the Samsung Smart Switch PC software to fix it. Hopefully that works.
Where are you?
What firmware are you using? Branded or unbranded?
Have you looked on Sammobile for the correct firmware?
Are you able to boot into system recovery? Home+VOLUME UP+Power (Not Download)?
Oh you have got the G930R4. I thought G930F.
Then I don't know if there is a TWRP you could flash.
But if there is one you could just flash it and enter recovery mode and install a new ROM from within the TWRP environment.
Check this out.

Sounds like your device is currently bricked anyways, so just give it a try.
Maybe you can get a working TWRP recovery mode again.

I am in the US.
I'm on Android 8.0 (Oreo)
I have a US Cellular Branded phone.
As soon as the phone is turned on, it tries to boot into recovery, but it can't so it keeps on trying over and over again. I've tried the firmware from SamMobile, but nothing seems to work.
When I flash to Stock ROM, and I turn the phone on, it stays in a bootloop of the "Recovery Booting..." screen.
When I flash the rooted Engineering rom, and I turn the phone on, it stays in a bootloop of the Samsung S7 logo. I can't boot into safe mode.
I tried to use Samsung Kies... didn't work... I tried to use Samsung Smart Switch... didn't work... I've tried 3 or 4 different ROMs from different websites.... didn't work.
i have the same problem. was able to enter download mode several times, but at some point it died completely (not charging anymore). how do you manage to take the battery out? does the SM-G930R4 the possibility to easily remove it?

The glass panel on the back is glued onto the phone. If you remove the glass, there are screws and from there, it's easy. I broke the glass in the process... so yay me.
Mine won't charge either. It is completely dead, but it will still turn on when I plug it into my computer.
Really strange. Mine is not turning on, even tried several locations, charger, etc. Once I had download mode while having a black screen. Keep an eye on odin and instantly flash firmware if it got recognized. I press all three buttons while plugging in; that's how it worked the first time for me....

Issue with Samsung Note 8 SM-950F

Hi all! I have exhausted every avenue I can think of, with now hitting a roadblock attempting to repartition the device.
I took this phone to get its physical structure repaired as well as the screen. It took them 6 hours. When I got the phone back they said the "software crashed" and that they attempted firmware flashes to no avail.
The phone is in a constant Boot Loop. It will sit on the Samsung splash screen for a minute, go to a blue screen which tells me it is installing a system update, then an Android figure comes up saying Error. It does this over and over again. I hit the power and volume up key to quickly look at the commands it was throwing out and saw it was unable to access certain directories which I assume is the reason for the failure.
So I reflashed this phone with my relevant firmware using Odin. No firmware or combination of files and methods has brought this phone back.
I was hoping for some help with this project. I want to resurrect this phone, it's a great phone. I would love the satisfaction of doing it myself than at a store.

Sometimes after flashing via Odin, it is necessary to boot into stock recovery and factory reset then wipe cache partition then reboot. This doesn't always solve bootloop after flashing via Odin but it is a common solution.

I don't understand how to get into recovery mode. The phone, when the charger plugs in, attempts to boot all the time.
I know the Recovery mode key combo but I have no idea to power off this phone. I've let the battery run.
