So i been looking around and have been finding out what some of these system apps are that we do not use or want wasting memory period. I saw that there is a list like this for the Optimus 2x, but that phone has alot of different apps then the G2x so heres our list I've created a list of all the apk's I removed from doniqcc's EaglesBlood ROM, tested and working fine for me, and i delete them instead of freezing with titanium backup
Email.apk
GenieWidget.apk
lgevideoplayer.apk
LMIRescue.apk
LMIRescueSecurity.apk
MagicSmokeWallpapers.apk
Music.apk
PicoTts.apk
ScreenCapture.apk
SoundRecorder.apk
Swype.apk
Talk.apk
TitaniumBackup.apk
TtsService.apk
VoiceDialer.apk
VoiceSearch.apk
VpnServices.apk
And lastly the OmaDmclient.apk, I looked it up and found that it has to do with the updating of the stock software so if you are going to keep a stock ROM then you would want this so you can get the stock upgrade software but if your going to be using a custom ROM like CM7 and whatever other ROMs come out then this is no use to you, but you have to delete all the other system apk's first because you gonna have a Force Close frenzy after you delete this so you delete it then take the battery out and restart, there its gone too...
I personally think my phone runs better without it since it was always running in the backround.
This may be interpreted as a bloatware list, but it is clearly not that.
Many of these things are part of stock Android, so many people won't want to remove them. At least until they know what they are. Can you say what each one is exactly? Not everyone one is totally obvious.
Is "Email.apk" the stock email client ?
Is "Music.apk" the stock music player ?
What is PicoTts?
Is "Talk.apk" the stock google talk app?
Why would you remove titaniumbackup.apk? Isn't that the app you use to freeze/remove?
What is Ttsservice ?
Aren't Voicedialer and voicesearch stock apps necessary for voice actions?
How is this stuff unused - people around here sure give out bad advice. I hope people have a brain to not follow what you listed without thinking.
Email.apk - Standard email client, fine if you only have gmail but that's it. You can't have any other email on your phone
GenieWidget.apk - The news and weather widget, doesn't take up CPU/mem unless you are using the widget. why?
lgevideoplayer.apk - How do you play videos? The LG video player is better than stock
Music.apk - Standard music player - you'd need a replacement if you want to listen to audio
PicoTts.apk - No voice to text/text to speech support if you delete this
ScreenCapture.apk - no screenshots with buttons
Talk.apk - No chat client and I have heard removing this can break things like Market, etc.
TtsService.apk - Same as TTS above
VoiceDialer.apk - No voice dialing? Again doesn't run if you don't use it
VoiceSearch.apk - No voice searching

i delete the apps with SUFBS so i dont use titanium backup
Email.apk-stock android email app, i only use gmail
Music.apk-stock android music app, i use PowerAmp for music
PicoTts.apk and TtsService.apk-text to speech service which i do not use so dont need
Talk.apk-google talk
Voice dialer and voice search are necessary for voice actions so if you don't use them you need these apk's, but if you do, keep whichever ones you need, the main one to me was the OmaDmclient.apk since it was running all the time. sorry should of been a little more specific on those

i said that these are apps that if you dont use, dont need to be on your phone. I am one that just hates when there are apps on my phone that i do not use, so i take them off and Im sure there are other people that feel the same way so if you use the apps, why are you even asking why to me, i said why I'm deleting them, keep the apps you use, removing google talk has never gave me any problem and Have been doing that since my HD2 w/ android

I have never had the GenieWidget on any of my home screens since the beginning of Android, but I constantly find this process running in the background, before I removed it, that is.
Not bad advice, just assumes you know or have a good idea of what this stuff does. Thanks for the post, OP.

Right, u just need to say what each app is b/c it's not obvious. Someone may think they don't need these apps either.
What are some of the apps for you remove?
kayslay21, What are these apps? I believe that I can guess some, but others not so sure. What affects on the phone if you remove them.

I have the LGE LG-C800, the myTouch Q, and I wonder if I could take some off.
I assume that Music.apk is the standard music app. I use PlayerPro for music. Since I installed it, may I now remove Music.apk? Is it necessary for PlayerPro to work? I noticed that PlayerPro (and all apps I installed) installed to /data/app and the music.apk is installed in system/app. Does that make a difference?
I have tentatively "removed" some apps from /system/app by renaming the extensions adding .bak and now observe my system to see if something bad happens. When I rename the system says "uninstalled." Just by doing this battery life has increased and my phone is perkier. I figure several weeks I may know if I can removed them permanantly. What to do with the .odex files of apps removed?
I've hacked Windows, OS X, and Ubuntu on my desktops. I've found some correspondences and some not. I brick this phone once, then did a recovery. It wasn't from renaming; it was some settings I was ignorant of their affect on my phone. I decided to remove apps and get to settings later. I'm a week into my study of root and an its rollicking thrills. After the recovery I had to reinstall the apps I had before the brick.
If I post what I renamed will that be seen as highjack of your post?
I am seventy and have enough trouble, even with glasses, have to enlarge print in browser, seeing normal print fonts. I guess that you don't want me to post. I'll try again.
Ultimate BLOATWARE (deBloat) List
for Android 4.3 and 4.4.2x official
(ROOT required)!
Attention for Android 5.0.1 and UP:
I started a new Thread here: Click
. . .
Samsung Flip Cover friendly!
There are more (depending on your usage) but that was it for now!
You can delete or move this Apps, Libs and Folders easy with "Root Explorer" App (Playstore)! Use v3.1.7 for Android 4.4.2 please!!!
Reason for this list:
We want a space-saving stock System with all necessary functions available!
We DON'T want custom Kernel & custom Recovery!
Use Xposed Installer/Framework with Wanam Xposed (ROM modding without modifying APKs)! :good:
In some cases it´s necessary after removing to clear the dalvik-cache and reboot!
Reboot always necessary!
I recommend using Playstore App "SD-Maid" (menu "corps-finder")
to kill unused related crap AFTER DELETING !!
It saves a lot of work!
In odexed ROM´s you have to delete/move the associated "xxx.odex" App´s also!
New added things are marked GREEN for some time!
XXUGNE5+ only Bloatware / Apps are marked BLUE !!!
NOTE: In Android 4.4.2 (kitkat) some apps are moved to System/Priv-app (if you don't find them in "System/App" !!!)
Don´t disable KNOX messaging with SuperSU (might cause random system restarts or bootloop if you thereafter removing knox).
Simply remove all shown Knox stuff and you´r done!

thanks my friend , this is a nice and god list of bloatware to remove !
thx again.
It would be great to have an application to automatically manage the removal one by one

I'm not a friend of those scripts especially the finished app is also an intervention in the system!
So often you do not do that and the "root explorer" derives good services!
So everybody can choose witch App he dosn´t need!

But not everybody want a custom recovery to do that.
If I know how, I would make an App to handle this more comfortable!

You make a good point, and I understand it.
But some of us want to remove EVERYTHING, and it's a chore to do it manually.
If you could do an optional script, it would be great. If you can't or don't want to, I understand.
Thank you for the great list.

Thank you for the great list.

Hello fAiLOfax,
I've got the stock 4.3 XXUEMJ7 build from the Netherlands. Would you happen to know if that ROM is rootable? I'd love to use your extensive list when deleting unwanted apps.

Hi and thanks for doing all that work!
Really like the fact you color everything "new" so it´s much easier to see what has been changed. :good:
just curious, has anyone actually uninstalled any bloat yet? i figure we should start a list of apps that we can remove/delete without bootlooping. anyone want to chime in with apps that they have actually uninstalled?

I have a related question: can I get rid of email, mobile tv, tasks, and quick memo apps without consequence?
I'd suggest keep your root image in your internal as if anything happened like bootloop you can flash back to original rooted state..there are some att app that attached with build.prop to work..so be very carefull...about email, mobile tv, task and quick memo apps..yes..you can delete it..
these are some app that i add and remove to/from system and system-priv
also used bloatware to disabled some

@faizalotai, you can right click on the Read Device Packages button in Debloater and export lists of blocked and unblocked apps. You can also import those lists back to Debloater so it's easy to reblock packages if you have to reset.
Which apps did you find tied to build.prop? I've been digging through the file, but haven't spent much time with it yet.

I recommend using an app like Titanium Backup which can "freeze" apps you want to disable without removing them from the system. If you find that app was needed, you simply unfreeze it.

that's not the point of this thread. freezing still allows the app to start in some instances. the app is also still taking up space in the ROM. i want to start a list of things we can actually uninstall
I'm screwing up your thread too. Sorry about that. Take a look at this post. Before I soft-bricked my phone and switched to H810PR, I was keeping a list of crap I had blocked with details of what broke. Check out blocked7.txt file for a huge list. The phone was working well with those files blocked.
Stuff not to delete/block:
Don't block/delete LADDM.apk till you're able to remove CarrierIQ and test block it. It'll try to start constantly and fail. There's some instructions for the G3 that are probably applicable to the G4.
LGSystemServer.apk is heavily involved in notifications, so keep it.
LGStartupEula.apk, LicenseProvider.apk, UnifiedEULA.apk may be required when starting some apps. One or more of them create a license file and and the app can be deleted once that file is created, but I can't remember which one.
AmazonShopping.apk, People have reported that the one from the Play store FC's. You might try converting it to a user app and checking for updates to see what happens (after backing it up!).
Make sure you can recover from a soft-brick (follow the root instructions to export a good system.img and keep it on internal storage, don't factory reset or it gets deleted.) before starting. Also make a Titanium Backup so you can recover the file incase you need it in the future.
Edit your OP with a list of what you blocked successfully and people will either add their successes or ask stupid questions. In the end we'll learn though!
Good luck!

I received a survey request from att about preloaded apps. I took the survey and the questions seemed designed to elicit answers indicating I wanted more preinstalled apps. I did my best to convince them I wanted 0 preinstalled apps, but it was almost impossible given the survey design.
Another don't!
Don't delete/block:
LGCalendarProvider.apk (breaks google calendar sync)
You can block:
LGCalendar.apk
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk (might be needed for third party calendars)

obviously you cannot uninstall without root. disabling the app still allows the app to start in the background. uninstalling is the only way to completely rid your phone of wasted resources
I have uninstalled all of the apps listed in the op successfully. Thanks.

I have studied almost all of these samsung apps for quite some time now, so I'm familiar with there importance in the system. Here is a list of all of the factory installed apps for software OGD and how I classify them according to their function in the system.
*Apps highlighted in GREEN are safe to remove with no negative effects or risk of breaking other device features.
*Apps highlighted in RED are critical system apps and should NOT be removed or "frozen".
*Apps highlighted in ORANGE are also very important system apps but "can" be safely removed without catastrophic failure of the system (including FC's). However removing these apps will remove core functions of the device.
I highly recommend leaving these apps alone to be safe.
*BLACK apps that are not highlighted i'm not 100% sure as to exactly what their function is. More research needed on those so leave them alone if in doubt!
*Last but not least... apps highlighted in PURPLE are Knox components and can and probably should be removed because knox is broken once you odin non-official files including custom recoveries, roms, etc. So it's integrity and purpose will be completely ruined once you odin non official files and root your device, triggering the knox counter.
So le's get to it! Here's MY personal classification of the stock apps. Feel free to add any input or other information you may have about any of these apps if you know more detailed information about an app and feel it's should be deemed "safe to remove" or otherwise. I hope this is helpful to people who are unsure.

I must be blind. I can only see the apps listed in either red or white. No other colors.
Ok... Nevermind it's because I was using Tapatalk or possible the theme one phone lol.
One day well have a debloater script
Sent from my SM-N920P using XDA Premium HD app
I'm not seeing any green or orange, only black, red and white.
Sent from my Hybrid Note4
Tapatalk or the xda app doesn't show the color properly. Use a Web browser.
Thanks for this list.
You are the man!
I thought I would say this because I know I'm not the only one and I don't see many of us saying anything. I am having hard time with the colors in a browser but that's probably because I'm color blind. I would have no way of comparing display colors in a browser to those on an app. It is very frustrating when device's uses red, green, orange, amber, yellow lights and support asks you what color are the lights now. If I didn't see it change colors I wouldn't have known, if I zoom out the web page and stare, I sometime can spot slight color variance. I understand that these colors have a standard definition and with traffic lights it doesn't stop me from running a red light or stopping at a green one, the position of the light helps but doesn't exist in a list unless they are grouped by color. Just my two red cents. LOL :laugh:
I'm sorry but how could this list slip through? You are listing as red packages that are not only not critical but also particularly privacy violating or battery draining bloatware like Sound Detector??

Don't come here looking to find fault, criticize or insult. If you have more knowledge on any system app in this outdated software, feel free to make a productive and accurate contribution for your claim so it can be edited if need be. Removing certain system apps will break certain features and it may or may not be important to you or the next person. The old SoundDetector isn't as critical but removing it DOES break that feature in the rom. So technically I think it could be changed to orange.
"FotaClient" is OTA updates, right? I think it should be edited as safe to remove, since Samsung won't let you update anyway because you tripped knox and have root at this point

I'm sorry, but it seems to me that more than half of the apps/packages you have listed here in red are in fact confirmed bloatware that is perfectly safe to remove or freeze.. idk where you got your sources from but proper versions of these lists are seeb in too many xda threads to count

"FotaClient" is OTA updates, right? I think it should be edited as safe to remove, since Samsung won't let you update anyway because you tripped knox and have root at this point

"Bloatware" is interpreted differently by people. Bloatware, technically speaking, is non-system user apps such as games and carrier apps, etc. System apk's such as FotaClient, OmaDM, SoundDetector, etc, are not bloat by definition because they are a part of the os, not standalone applications. But if you use knowledge and common sense, a person can delete some of these system apk's and not cause catastrophic system failure, FC's, etc. We have all learned a lot in recent years about these Samsung apk's but I haven't edited the OP to reflect my own personal opinions on these system apk's and have no intentions of doing so because like I already said, it's mostly a matter of opinion and preference when deleting system apk's. This list is a quick reference (outdated) for the average user where no harm will happen to the os as a result of removing them as I have cataggorized them in the list. If you want to make a new list and give your own opinions of what is and isn't bloat. Have at it. Now run along.
Hi all! it's a long time was looking for a debloat script here that doesn't remove all functionalities of Samsung and keep the basics apk i need such as smart mirror, wallpaper crop, photo editor, smart manager but i removed for example samsung cloud because i don't need it

Note that i didn't remove Knox because on the ROM i've right now they are already deabloated by default so if you want to give me the folder names related to them i'll be happy to add them. I'm not responsable of any bricked device or exploding phones i'm just sharing this so anyone can modify/use it so you can debloat easily your favorite rom! Just flash the zip in the attachment via TWRP.
Make sure you read what apps will be removed that maybe you need i did this for myself so maybe it's not what YOU want
UPDATE: I uploaded new version that fixes a problem in samsung gallery (thanks to @Bicet ) where users can't see folders and added Bixby e some Knox stuff related. Also i've made 2 different versions of this script. One will remove the samsung cloud also the other one not (NoCloud and Cloud version)
I lost play store & framework services. but couldn't find it on your script

Ok so maybe i figure it out why! Updated v2 with some little corrections
Anyway to do it without flashing the script cuz I don't have twrp
i also have a personal debloat list, that i keep updating with every new android version. i try to get rid of most samsung bloat, but i do like some of their features (camera, blue light filter, smart view/mirroring, upsm and device maintenance/smart manager). for all the basics (calculator, clock, calendar, browser, mail, dialer, messaging etc) i use google. i think you are even a bit more extreme than me, but we come close
if you would like it or if it's needed, i would like to share ideas/experiences with debloating. there are a lot of lists around, but there is no complete/definitive list of removable apps WITH their exact functions.
i have figured out a lot o functions or apk's, but certainly not all. for example applinker.apk. does anyone REALLY know what this app is and what it does?
cheers!

I will see what I can do
Do you by any chance have a document/list that clearly specifies what an apk does/provides?
Like I said, I still can't find a decent explanation of Applinker.apk. I know it's a Samsung apk, but what feature is it exactly?
Same for Imsservice/imslogger etc. I can imagine what it is supposed to do, but what features does it really give you? Extra menu options in messaging or something?
Ofcourse we can just delete the lot, as long as the system is stable. We might not even miss certain features. But I'm trying to get more insight in the individual apk's and there just doesn't seem to be a comprehensive list

That list is far from being a really comprehensive one but I'm hoping that someone else with better knowledge, willing to experiment with their device can help provide more input, but people these days don't seem to be as adventurous anymore.
You could try to decompile the apk and guess from the files inside or try to understand the reverse engineered code if you are into that.
Since quite a few of the functions are carrier/device/etc dependent, they are hidden in the software by default so even if you delete those associated apks, it won't make any visible changes to your software.
There are some apks in this list that will make a difference to the function of your phone which I tested myself from trial and errors+logcat, for example, BeaconManager.apk
PM me if anyone wants to discuss anything, didn't want to hijack OP's thread here.

i'm interested in this but also i don't want to delete every app but just that ones that i don't need. AFAIK there is another dev working on an aroma debloater https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/themes/4-2-18-extreme-aroma-based-debloater-s8-t3744608. I just wanted something simple that you can flash and will remove what i don't need. Also i didn't removed all the apps without knowing what they do (i lost months probably trying to figure it out what apk are doing just beacuse i want to know what i'm deleting but for some of them i couldn't find any description. Anyway if you have any suggestion i will be happy to remove/ add something
