I ordered a zizo screen protector. I am posting here to inform the consumers of what they are doing.
First, the screen protector claims no bubbles. It is fastened to the screen with black tape that goes around the border of the glass screen protector. The glass DOES NOT fasten to the phone glass. The center of the glass protector does touch the phones glass creating a bubble effect.
I emailed them and they know of this issue and still selling them. That is deceptive trade practices.
Again, I am just trying to warn people. Here is a screenshot of the email of them admitting of this issue and not warning people.

Here is my screen. Clearly you can see the effect. You can see it on a white screen.
BUY THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK They also think the android community are fools. Their reason is that full glass screen protectors are thinner and that's the reason for this. Remember there is a black tape around the boarder of the glass that holds it away from the phones glass.

I just got mine for my daughter's v20 and absolutely no issues. I believe the oil rainbow look is because the screen was not throughly cleaned before the screen protector was applied

Them Grid Dots
This effect is where the two pieces of glass are touching. In the email the admit that the only place adhesive is at is around the edge. That black tape is what holds the protector on. Look at amazon. 29% are 1 star reviews with plenty of photoes.
My point is in the email they admit to knowing about this issue and are not telling consumers. They even go on to say "there is no way around it"
I do not like being cheated or lied to. Zizo is actually being very deceptive. If some work out good. But once the glass is pushed on it will start to have this effect.
I would not have bought one if I had been warned. Now with the email I posted proves they know and knew a out this design flaw and are not telling consumers. I do not trust companies that do this type of buisiness. I am just warning others to be aware before buying.
It is a problem. Here is amazons review.

No problem. I'm sure as soon as the Moto has been in more peoples hands that more proper fitting protectors will surface. For now this will have to do until I get my overpriced protector from Motorola.

Return to Amazon - I have same issues as others. Arent we going to have this issue with ANY screen protector? If it is smaller, you will distinctly feel the "drop off".
Little different
Just got the clear ones in today. Mine aren't what Amazon shows but they differ from the ones you received as well. There are cutouts for the bottom sensors and a centered cutout at the top. It's also smaller than the screen to avoid the curved edges. They actually sent me an email after ordering it explaining why it's smaller than the phone.

I was just looking at these from Amazon, I usually go straight otterbox for my phones and I've found the screen protectors that come with it are adequate so I've never shopped around for other screen protectors. I just got this bumper/case in: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N3VHD6C
It fits quite snug and I'm wondering how it will sit with a tempered glass cover.

I know there is a "Tempered Glass Screen Protector" thread, but since those seem to be ineffective ATM.... Also please leave tempered glass discussion and info in the other thread.
Has anyone tried a dry application or wet application screen protector on your Moto X? I like how wet fit protectors seem to mold perfectly to the phone, but they always feel rubbery which I hate. Dry applied protectors seem to suffer from the same issue the tempered glass protectors do, they don't hold down on the curved edges of the screen.
Has anyone tried anything they like?
I'm using dry protectors sold by Verizon. Sticks very will for me. But it is a fingerprint/smudge magnet!

Yeah strange. I don't see it on the web site either. I was walking through the mall here in phoenix a couple days ago and was able to get one
Rhino shield said they are making one and the preorder page is up.
Please preorder one, it will be quality unlike anything else available. Would hold my breathe on tempered glass due to the curved screen.

Any similar to zagg yet?
Since zagg hasn't made one for the moto x 2nd gen, I desperately wanted one. I bought one for an Sammy s5 for 9.95 and modified by cutting the top and bottom off. While the top section and bottom are exposed, the main screen is covered. Width is perfect. Feels so much better than the dry application ones from vzw I had. Combined with my otter box defender with the built in screen protection removed, I'm a happy camper now. Protection with the right feel for me.
For wet skin protectors, give Best Skins Ever a try. I discovered and tried them against Xtremeguard and Skinomi (I refuse to try any other skin brand that goes over $20) back in the days when I had a Nexus 4, which also had a curved screen. I found the BSE skin to have the slickest feel on the screen, and they're cut to within 1mm of the absolute edge of the screen. The back also has 3 separate pieces, for the camera flash and dimple. They run $8.99 for a full skin set. I plan on buying one soon for my incoming Moto X, as a temporary solution until somebody makes a proper fitting tempered glass protector.
Hey guys, just a general question about tempered glass protectors, is it generally okay to keep a slightly cracked tempered glass protector on a device? There are layers above and below the actual glass correct?
In the picture is a Zerolemon Tempered Glass protector on my tablet, however I also have tempered glass on my nexus 5, so I'd like to know for possible future reference. Thanks!

I'm just slightly concerned about the slightly cracked protector coming in contact with the actual screen. I checked the other side and the bottom layer where the adhesive is and it seems normal and not damaged, same with the top most layer.

It could scratch if it was loose and rubbing up against the screen, but I can't see any other issues myself. That said, I'm hardly an authority on this
i had a MIME tempered glass screen protector that cracked from the ear piece hole... used it for months, the cracks grew bigger, eventually i got a new one from them. when i removed it, it was perfect underneath
The new one i have also cracked it from a small drop, and i am sure it will be fine underneath

Do these go with the curve of the screen?
I just got mine. Put it on and took it back off. Only the edges have adhesive. The clear center part for the screen doesn't touch the screen so it makes the screen look dull or hazy. The good thing about this is that the edges are solid color so you don't see any halo if there are any. It's flat so I'm sure the halo is there but you just can't see it. I put my old tempered screen back.
Also wanted to point out, I bought the edge to edge glass version.

Yeah both of mine you can see them when the screen is off.
I guess I should have waited a week longer as my black glass protector is still going strong but the white one not so much, and they have THE worst customer support I have ever dealt with second to Verizon.

No, Im sorry I dont have any pictures, and I have sent over 20 emails to Tech Armor about the issues, and I keep getting the same question about my Amazon order numbers, then an appology then no reply for 6-7 days with the same question being asked. Very bad support from them.
Recently took my Note 4 back due to lack of root and picked up a Nexus 6.
Hey Guys,
If you consider to buy a S8, please read.
I bought this phone a week ago and the oleophobic coating has already gone from the screen.
I didn't use any alcohol or other liquid for clean the screen, only dry clothes.
Now the phone looks like a cheap chinese rubbish, full of smudges and fingerprints.
I have to wipe every 2 minutes with a special cloth.
I am very disappointed about its quality. It is hard to believe that a cheap Nuglas tempered glass screen protector {£3 on eBay} has an oleophobic coating lasting for more than a year and the Samsung can't invest a few pence to give this phone a premium feel and they make sure that you can't buy any usable screen protector for this fckn' curved screen.
After the Note 7 scandal I though that the Samsung tries to get its reputation back, but they just try to get back the money what they lost because of the Note 7.
I think this is my last Samsung phone ever.
Now I am selling it and buy an LG or a Huawei.
Had mine since launch, no issues with the coating here
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Pics or it didn't happen, and why not exchange the phone? Seems like some kind of defect.
Had mine since launch, no issues here either.
I have the same issue with my S8 near the earpiece.
My Galaxy s7 had this as well.. seems like a factory defect as it never got worse on the previous phone.

My educated guess is no, not on standard film screen covers, however it may work on tempered glass screen covers. Oleophobic coating needs a glass surface to bond to.
Mine disappeared after a few weeks as well. Something I found that helped is my Oakley hydrophobic kit for the sunglasses. I tried it and it's only good for a week but it does help with fingerprints.

Just to add, I had this problem with my s8 where there were rub marks going down both sides of the screen right where the screen begins to curve. I contacted an authorized Samsung repair center that was about 3 hours away, sent pictures and they confirmed that Samsung will cover the repair under warranty. So if anyone has this problem, try going direct to a repair center and they can confirm if it is covered. I just got my phone back and they put a new screen and battery, seals and full testing to ensure ip68 was still good. If you're lucky and they get approval in advance, they can do repair in a few hours, otherwise you will need to pay return shipping or drive back and pick it up.
Sent from my new again Samsung S8.
They will fix this in warranty if they can see it.
Even in Kenya!
P.S. when using oleophilic liquid kits you MUST seal all your ports, cover your camera lens and buttons. The liquid will plug everything - ear phone speaker - and clog the buttons so their difficult to push.
