I tried deodexing myself and signing the apks, could get them to install but would crash when trying to load. Mainly interested in the new livewallpapers and touchwiz launcher, anyone care to try?

Guys, I was curious if someone has modified the Samsung Gallery3D.apk to allow it to work on other non Samsung phones? I briefly used a Samsung Fascinate and was loving the optimized Samsung gallery. Much faster than the stock Gallery3D and also had other nice optimizations like a share menu that does go off the top of your screen.
This guy posted the APK here from one leaked Samsung ROM. When I try to use it on my Droid X, for instance, I get errors about missing libraries in the logs.

The missing libraries, do they refer to touchwiz? If so, you'll probably need to install all those apk's too - lot of bloat. Perhaps you could use ApkTool by Brut4All to decompile the 3dGallery and the touchwiz files, and merge the appropriate files into 3dgallerys apk?
Can you show the error messages?
This mod has been created for ROMs that are as close to stock as possible. When I had my S7, it was specifically tested on SuperStock ROM. Please be aware that this mod may not be compatible with ROMs that offer extensive ROM Control (customisation) options.
Important update
I am no longer in possession of my S7 Edge as I have upgraded to an S8. If this mod remains popular then I will do my best to provide updates for it, however they will not be as frequent. I am fully reliant on you guys for testing as I don’t have a rooted device now to even test the install scripts (syntax errors), let alone the app updates. Thanks for your understanding!
ROOT USERS ONLY
If you are not currently rooted and are considering rooting in order to flash this zip, I’d strongly advise against it. You will likely lose more than you will gain (knox 0x1, secure folder broken, s health restrictions etc). If you are rooted, give it a try! Just don't forget to take a backup first as this is a new project and sometimes things are a little unpredictable across different ROMs / bases.
Please make sure to take a full TWRP backup before flashing this mod.

This is because you do not have a new enough CSC. Feel free to try this one I made earlier: BTU-G935FOXA1DQD7

Changelog
V2.2: AQG5 files extracted from firmware and repacked (as opposed to copying from my S8). Updated S7 files to DQFM.
V2.1: Added Bixby although this hasn't been tested. S8 apps and system apps updated to AQG5. S7 AOD, Camera and Settings updated to DQFM. Calculator, Email, S Health, Voice Recorder updated separately through APK Mirror to the latest version available for my S8.
V2.0: Selected S7 & S8 files updated to DQF7/AQF7. Selection of base files including contacts, calculator, calendar etc. updated with newer versions from APKMirror. Phone apks (e.g. SamsungInCallUI) will remain as the base versions as updating them manually seems to cause fcs. SecSettings2 and SamsungCamera6 (S8 icons) updated with versions from the new bases. Also moved these to a specific ‘mods’ folder to prevent errors by myself in future.

V1.9.8: Updated Device Maintenance, Photo Editor, Messages, Gallery, TouchwizHome. Added Samsung TTS, Voice Assistant. Altered Aroma progress bar. S7/S8 AOD is now a select option with S7 selected by default. Made wiping cache / dalvik cache optional. Spread Aroma options over multiple pages.
V1.9.7: Removed S-Voice rollback as no longer necessary. Re-did Settings and Camera apks. Added options for S8 AOD and S7 AOD (revert purposes), Re-added Smart Select although it only installs now with the S8 AOD selection. Moved fixes section to the start of the upgrade script.
V1.9.6: Added updated S Voice & S Music. Removed Smart Select Edge and Clipboard Edge as they don't currently work without further modifications. These will uninstall as part of the install process Thanks to @EasyAndroidPro for reporting the issue w/ Clipboard Edge.

Phone and contacts updated. Places isn't working atm but I'm not sure if that's fed from Bixby or not so may be out of luck. Will have to do more digging.

Does it matter what carrier you're on to flash this? I'm on Sprint and rooted but don't want to jack up my Phone and Contacts apps if incompatible.

Being completely honest mate, I'm not sure... I wouldn't have thought so as I can't imagine carriers would have specific contact and phone APKs on the S8 (although I could be wrong). If anything, you'd just need to make sure you were just using the correct CSC for your carrier. E.g. I have to use a BTU or EVR CSC to get my Wi-Fi calling working, but that's a carrier requirement it would seem (and that applies to the S7 phone app too).
I have only been able to test this on my UK S7E on EE (BTU firmware) and I have yet to receive any feedback good or back as to whether it works properly for people on different devices (e.g. S7, S7E) or different carriers.
If you are willing to give it a try, I'd recommend a full TWRP just in case.. At least if they don't work out for you, you can immediately put your phone straight back to how it was before flashing the zip.
V1.3 Uploading - Rolling back Samsung Video Player to S7 version. Issues with casting. Starting messing with /system/framework/allshare.jar but not worth the time/effort. Newer version lets video player cast but not music player and the opposite is true of the older version.
Edit: V1.3 is live in OP. Apologies for that... didn't foresee the video issue.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm sorry that you had issues. I'll see what I can find out. I've adjusted the instructions to include a full TWRP backup.
What is your CSC? I'd like to try with the same setup as you.

Edit: I just flashed Superman Rom with super kernel and on my device it works, minus the places feature in the phone app.. Otherwise fine. If you could also confirm your phone model and even a logcat if you had time I'd be eternally grateful.

I think it's more likely linked to the CSC mate as it works for me when using the latest BTU CSC (see attached), but not for the CSC flashed by the selection utility. Maybe even Kernel related. Will do some experimenting later.
What is your current CSC?

I have put together a test BTU CSC for you. Through some testing, it would seem that the CSCs contained within the CSC Selection Utility do not accommodate for the Place tab within the Phone app.

No there is no fc on the gallery atm as I have yet to include the newer photo editor APKs, so they don't show any updates on the galaxy app store. There were fixes available for the S8 photo editor but as I say, one of the things I've not got to yet. Open to requests as it's hard to think of other things to bring across lol.
