To summarize the problem Z9max system upgrade V4.17 latest post:
1. after the shutdown, alarm clock setting does not work
2. set the timer on and off, time off work, regular boot does not work.
3. the lock screen wallpaper inexplicable disappearance (selected for the lock wallpaper, but the reality is still the default lock screen)
4. ink weather addition to the default desktop plug, other plug-ins can not be displayed.
5. the desktop layout style in 5 x 5, the illustration shows the location bar at the bottom is 5, but the actual position of the bottom four columns, and the above is five, inconsistent, difficult to see.
After two days of testing, I returned to the CM13.

It's unbelievable that they can't bring out a stable version... This phone could run so much better with a stable stock Rom if they wanted...
I expected Nubia to bring out regular updates and work for their community.

I do not understand the strategy of Nubia. Other manufacturers can do it without any problems. I have mixed feelings about it.

I tried to use some modified ROM from this site - http://www.romzj.com/list/nubia_nx510j.htm
Some of them are good, but all the tweaks and settings are the Chinese (for me unusable).
There is no other option than to use the Cyanogen, Mokee or Resurrection Remix. All are multilingual, small, fast etc.....

A couple of months ago I asked in the OMNIRom thread if our device could get it... Unfortunately the response was that no development will be put into a device only owned by half a dozen of people...
Which makes sense somehow... Nubia needs to change their approach if they seek for more internationalization in the future.
We own a device which was solely created for the Chinese market, still, we have some development from great members like dianlujitao, which we can be grateful for.

Hi Novas,
Many thanks for your Mega folder. It makes life a lot easier. Is the Resurrection Remix 20160511 rom stable enough for daily use? I am on Mokee 5.1.1 history release and i'm bored with it at the moment. If not, which MM rom would you recommend stable enough for daily use. Many thanks

You can use the RR for everyday use. I was on RR few weeks, and I had no problems. Now I have installed CM13, because I'm doing translations for Crowdin. CM13 is also no problem, but if you do not mind the daily updates.
In my Mega folder you will find some printscreens, which I did.

hi, one question about custom roms: maybe you know when does someone of the developers plans to put out an version with the newest original baseband (4.17) for the z9 max phone?
i am wondering why there is not existing roms with the newest baseband, not from dianlujitao or other developers? they all stopped at
the 3.82 and after that nothing more which is based on newer ones.....why not? can you maybe explain little bit more about it? thanx

V3.82 is the latest stable version. Perhaps it is better to have a custom ROM based on stable baseband.

MIUI 8 Global Stable - Modded Boot Image
After start using the Redmi Note 4 (with Global ROM), I feel that the phone was very sluggish, was not the upgrade that I was expecting, but knowing that the hardware is good, I then start to flash other rom version to test, and on Xiaomi.EU Dev version, the sluggish was over.
I not big fan of dev version, it always has some annoying bug, so I started testing some changes in the stable version, and by my experience this type of sluggish frequently is cause on the kernel level or by bad memory management in the ROM, since the memory was relative ok, I replace the stable kernel with the dev version, and I notice a significant gain of fluidity.
So I am share this boot image, include the 8.2 Kernel and changes in the partition config (fstab) to remove forced encryption and verify flag.
And I also strongly recommend formatting the data partition (with twrp recovery) to remove the encryption, the combination of the new kernel and the unencrypted partition generates an excellent performance gain.

To install:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
Code:

No, the init config of 6.11 is different from 8.0 (stable), this is only for stable 8.0 rom.

Ah of course, other way around - this is so stable users can benefit from dev kernel. No problem
Would you mind investigating this tweaked pack posted on english MIUI forums? It has a tweaked boot.img so I have to decide to use yours or this one (currently using the new China stable 8.1.x build myself). All he says is "new kernel from 2016/10/26" but I'm unsure what kernel that even is. http://en.miui.com/thread-417364-1-1.html
EDIT: Going to try yours, yours has encryption disabled so that's worth it regardless if it's older than latest China Stable kernel.
EDIT2: Didn't work, was stuck on Mi Account "Getting device security info". I just edited the fstab in it's boot.img to match yours, all good

There is no such thing as Redmi Note 4 Pro/Snapdragon, it's only rumor.
Anyone has issues with kill apps on last stable? I have to go to homescreen first, then press and hold my buttong- then I can kill/close the apps. If I do it any other way they stay open.. is there any other way?

Do you mean closing the very "left" or first app to kill? But all the others can be closed? Then I have to hit home then go kill it < in that order.
I can confirm this happens on mine but I am running Xiaomi.eu Weekly which from memory is based on the latest China Developer.

I can confirm this on the China dev ROM, I assumed it was just the default behaviour, so you aren't able to kill the app that you're in as it where, but if you jump to another app or home you can kill it.
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk
It's like this: I open an app okay, when I press and hold down home I can see recent apps (and free memory) I cannot shut them down via that way... I first have to go to home screen all the way then press/hold home button again to draw "recent apps" and then I can kill them. They won't shut down the first instance I draw recent apps..
I hope this gets fixed asap cause it's annoying as hell. On 5.1. I can just instant kill an app and force close it and now I can't I have to do two steps. It just keeps running the app otherwise.

Yep exactly, but I don't recall it happening on the previous build I had? Seems strange to me, as you are leaving the task you should be able to kill it while switching apps.. without going back to the home button.
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk
Yeah but you can't switch to another app.. like now from Tapatalk and kill Tapatalk in the meanwhile while going to the other apps in recent apps. Doesn't work.

Try two finger swiping the notification down, it works for some notifications and may give the option to reply/delete, like stock Android.

The above statements are false.
The post says:
"5. Support 4K 60fps on back camera
Thanks for your feedback, our dev team is developing this feature and will release asap."
"1. Widevine L1 to support HD Netfilx
Still developing with Google and Qualcomm, will try to release the Beta within Q4."
So we'll have to wait a little more than a week for these fixes

Hi,
1. I think you installed the Developer Preview 5, but I suggest you updating to Open Beta 1 (more recent and should be more stable), which is the update that you mention.
2. It seems that some OEM removed the pill, I think I eared such thing in a recent xdatv video on youtube.
