Hi,
i tried to encrpyt my rooted One A9 yesterday. It started the encryption as it is supposed to (Battery charged to 89%, charger still plugged).
But about 2 minutes later the screen just turned black.
Now the phone can't be turned on, no matter which button i press.
It is also not recognized by my pc when i plug it in.
Also the orange charging LED is constantly lit although it isn't plugged to any charger.
As i can't seem to find anything about this issue on google or here in the forums, i hope someone can help.
Or can i simply throw it away now?
Specs:
European HTC One A9 (no branding)
Unlocked Bootloader (TWRP Recovery)
Rooted (SuperSU)
Stock HTC Rom (can't recall the version, should be latest european)
Thanks in advance
Solution... Kind of...
Ok, since i got impatient i opened the phone and removed the battery to turn it off completely.
It seems to work again now, although i got no way to make sure because my screen broke in the process of opening it :crying:
But i can hear the bootsounds and my smartwatch connects when its on.
Anyways, for people having this problem in the future, it should help to just let the device run out of battery (which should take ages, since its off and only the led is on).
Thank God a new screen costs almost the same as a new device...

Edit (2)--
Seems like the problem is fixed. The battery is charging. Phone working like normal. Seems good so far.
Edit--
Ok, seems like I'm pretty good. Seems like it's a battery problem. The only problem right now is that my battery isn't holding charge. Luckily, my brother has the same phone. So, I'll use his battery, put the t-mobile rom back on my phone, request a new battery or phone and wait till Jan 6.
I have the touch pro2.
I have no idea what's wrong with my phone. But it's not working.
I keep on trying to turn it on, and it only turns on sometimes, and when it does, it lasts for a few seconds, then it shuts off. It's been on the charger since last night, I tried turning it on with the charger and without (And I see the orange light when the charger is plugged in)
Sometimes when I open it, it turns on, but still turns off when I shut it.
I have flashed my phone with Enegergy rom. Is there anyway that I can put the t-mobile rom back in my phone so that I can send it back? Help PLEASE!
If I can just get the original t-mobile stock rom back on the phone, I'm pretty sure I can send it back with no problem.
Things I notice so far;
- When I unplug my power cord, I get the battery critically low. (Hopefully, that's the problem).
Problems
-When I try to plug my phone into the computer. I'm not getting any activesync options
I just hard reset the phone, To see if it'll reconize the activesync now
so I can put the t-mobile rom on it.
Hi Guys, ive looked through the forum and have not found anything like this.
First of all I have not flashed the wrong hard-spl or gsm rom or a rom for a different model.
I am using Energy.RHODCDMA.29022.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.DinikGlass.Jul.04, stock Radio (verizon - sim unlocked on the o2 network). A little background info I brought the phone from a US ebay merchant awhile ago it was working fine except the slider rebooting the phone but rarely happens.
Awhile ago some moisture go into the phone, it would turn on but the screen just wouldnot turn on, the htc boot sound will sound but thats it.. so i left it for a few days without the battery in it which fixed the problem.
Okay to the crux of it, yesterday the battery went dead as normal i put it on charge for awhile, turned it on to make a important call whilst on charge but the phone just turned off so did the orange light. Now sometimes it charges for a period then it stops and cycles constantly. Whats worse is that holding the power button doesnot even turn the darn thing on *.* I've tried to batteries (oem and replacement neither charge on my laptop or thru the charger). Tried to load into the bootloader even holding the power key for awhile does not work
As it does not turn on I cant get into the bootloader... to dump the rom any ideas?
Your battery is dead. Replace with new one and everything will work fine..!
So it seems my phone has become a shiny paperweight. The thing is, I don't really understand why it happened. I've been reading how other people arrived at the same situation and although some symptoms are similar, I didn't do any of those things. I wasn't flashing anything, I didn't drop the phone etc
This is what happened: about 24 hours ago, I was using my phone as a GPS (google maps and waze) when it froze. No biggie, it had happened a few times before so I pulled out the battery, waited a few minutes, put the battery back and pressed the power button. The phone started as usual, it got past the HTC splash screen, the boot animation started. A few seconds (maybe 5) into the boot animation, out of reflex, I pressed the power button to turn off the screen. Don't ask why, dunno. As I've said, reflex. So the screen went black. And it stayed that way.
Since then I've been trying to bring it back to life. No luck yet. Here's the status of the phone:
Battery is not empty - when my phone froze yesterday it was about 80% full. I tried a different battery, no change
When I plug in the USB cable to charge it, the orange/green LED that usually lights up, well... doesn't
When I press the power button, the screen backlight turns on for 2 - 3 seconds, then turns off. Pressing VolDown+PWR does the same thing. I know it seems like a battery issue, but I'm pretty sure it isn't
The computer does not see the phone anymore when connected through an USB cable. 'adb devices' doesn't return anything and I don't see anything in the Device Manager (I was hoping for a QHSUSB_DLOAD but no such luck...)
The phone is a HTC Sensation 4G, HBOOT 1.17 (I think), S-OFF, rooted, was running InsertCoin 3.4.6/Android 2.3.5. As I've mentioned, I wasn't doing any of the things that usually lead to a bricked phone like trying to S-OFF/S-ON, flash a ROM etc. I'm currently reading the internets in an attempt to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. These are the questions I'm trying to get an answer for:
When the phone boots, is it not in read only mode? At least when it gets to the boot animation part.... And if so, even if the power button is pressed... shouldn't the phone just turn off and that's it?
Since the phone seems to be as responsive as a... well, brick... If I send the phone to HTC to repair it, will they be able to tell it was S-OFF and all that?
Does this sound like something that JTAG could fix?
Thanks in advance for any help or info.

It reminds me Desire S problem - fried emmc chip... If your phone has no valid warranty, I'm suggesting to see phone's internals and inspect emmc chip.
The phone still has warranty, I will try to have it repaired/replaced. The only thing I'm concerned about is the fact that it was S-OFF and running a custom ROM... And I don't have the knowledge or equipment to try to take it apart and fix it myself
If you have warranty just use it they won't be able to ckeck if phone was unlocked or not since it can't boot up.
Hello,
I have a HTC myTouch 4G Slide that I have ordered used off of eBay. The phone was in excellent condition, the software seemed to be unmodified (factory ROM, Locked, S-ON).
It worked fine for a few days, but then it did not wake up, I had to remove the battery and then put it back to be able to power it up.
I have not really made a notice, but as I recall it must have been on USB charge for most of the time. Now I suppose this to be the reason why this issue did not came up earlier.
I started to suspect that it might be a power/battery issue, so I ordered a new battery (2450mAh Gold), but it did not help, the issue remained with the new battery.
I have also tried powering it off for the night, but most of the times I could not turn it on in the morning, even if it must have been at almost full charge.
Sometimes if I power it off (the nice way, from the OS) and try to power it on immediately, then it fails. Only a battery remove/replace will help to make it work again.
I have tried using it without a microsd card, and also without the SIM card. None of these helped.
It is still S-ON, but is now unlocked, plus I installed CwM Recovery (5.0.2.7).
The Bootloader is still 1.45.0013, but I have tried many different ROMs (scverhagen CM9.1+bat drain; SilverL AOKP and CM10; a few ones by WeekendsR2Short, and now it runs miui v4. 1.2). No help, the phone behaves the same.
I'm in Hungary, Europe, if it might make any effect (different frequency, whatever)
If it could be a hardware issue, do you have a hint on what it can be, or a suggestion on a tool to help monitor/track it down?
If it could be something that can be solved by using a special ROM, or special settings, I'd also appreciate.
Thanks. Solt
Hi,
I've bought the same phone as you yesterday, and I have similar issues.
I couldn't power it on. I supposed it came with a very-drained battery, so I plugged in. Pluggin it on the wall charger did nothing. Pluggin it on the usb connector produces the usb-sound on my pc, the charging led on the phone bliks twice, then it stays off.
I removed the battery, try other plug on my house, other usb cable... then, finally, conneting again to my usb get my phone with a solid orange led on. After a few hours (still orange) unplugged it and turned it on and it turned on! (40% battery level)
Buy my joy was short; the phone rebooted itself several times. I've used it (configuring, installing apps), then when it warned me about the battery going to 10%, I plug it on the wall charger. I left it over the table for a few hours, with the orange led. Then, I had to use it, and as I was about to pick it up, i've noticed the orange led was off. I picked it up and tried to turn on the screen... nothing happened.
Well, the same process again; tried different plugs, different usb cables, different usb ports... then, at last, again, blinking orange led, unplugged and replugged it several times until the led stays on.
I'll try my device a few days but i'm feeling very dissapointed, i think i will return it.
Regards,

Hi All,
I wonder if you may be able to help. This morning we discovered one of our S7 phones was a black screen with solid blue light. It seemed completely unresponsive to touch, wouldn't wake. etc. The home, volume and power buttons seemed to do nothing. I plugged the phone into the computer, it didn't pick up a USB device.
Phone is stock from EE in the UK. No custom anything. Model: SM-930F 32GB.
EE and Samsung couldn't suggest anything to help.
We tried Power + Volume Down - This results in one of the following;
A (A battery with the current fill %) this happens when plugged in
B (Samsung Galaxy S7 powered by android) loading screen which then cycles or returns to a black screen with solid blue LED
We also tried Power + Volume Down + Home button. This does load the Warning screen about using a custom OS.
We have next day replacement warranty on the phone, i don't need to fix this phone. We only want to try and recovered some data and photos
Any help appreciated.
Kind Regards.

Hi, try turning off the App Power saving mode!! i had these problems also and it was caused by a app that cant handle the always on setting so when you use that app and then turn the phone in standby it will cause the freeze/black screen
Were you ever able to fix this problem? I just had it happen to me and I'm in the same situation.
This just happened to me. After an hour spent with tier II tech support, no progress.
You need to let the phone die completely. Once it's dead (and the blue light) is no longer dead, plug the phone into an OEM walk charger. In my situation,my s7 edge would vibrate to recognize the charge, than reset - before it could even build up a charge (so I thought). I left it alone for an hour or so, and amazingly, it booted up like normal.
Good luck!
I have this problem. How long will it take the battery to drain from fully charged with just the blue light on.
This just happened to me as well. I hope draining the battery works. This occurred when my battery drained and the phone turned off. When I tried to turn it back on after letting it charge for a few minutes it looked like it started to boot, then went to a black screen with a solid blue light. No button combination has any effect.
EDIT: Waiting until the battery died and then attempting to charge the phone has had no effect. No combination of keys has an any effect, either.
EDIT #2: I've taken my phone into the Verizon store. They tell me it's an issue with software and the phone is dead. They said this is "rare". Considering what I see here, I can't say how rare I find it. I have insurance, so they're replacing it, but now they're not keeping up their end of the deal on when the replacement phone will be delivered.
Flash it!
I had the exact same symptoms. What did the trick for me was draining out the battery and then fully charging it, WITHOUT TURNING ON the phone. If you do turn it on, you need to drain it out again. When the phone was fully charged I booted up the download mode and flashed the stock firmware with Odin. That was it, my Galaxy S7 was fully functioning again.
Hope this helps someone out there.
Just experienced kinda the same problem.
S7 died overnight on the charger. I was lucky to wake up on my own.
Just blue led.
I let it drain out over the day so it turned off (vol- + power no working).
Charged it a bit and try to go to recovery: loaded recovery but completely frozen.
I let it drain again and recharged it after it turned off.
Then I went to DL mode and reflashed latest carrier stock rom. AP. CP. BL. CSC. All.
Flashed fine! After rebooting it said "erasing...", rebooted and is back to the blue led only.
Strongly suggesting a hw issue at this point.
I'll let it drain again, fully recharge it, flash a non branded stock rom. If that wont work i'll probably need to bring it to my carrier on monday. Too bad its friday...
//Phone is r.i.p. even after a re flash of stock fw with full battery it only boots to blue led.
//Phone even deader. No more response in any way.
(some time later)
//Just received the repair report. The mainboard and some minor components were replaced under warranty even though my phone was rooted. Good thing for me it never turned on again.
