Root permissions on a Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337 cellular telephone? - Android General

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337 cellular telephone.
Its OS is Android Version 5.0.1 Lollipop.
I have been told that to enable tethering I need to have root permissions.
I have been unable to figure out how to do this.
Can anyone here tell me?
