[Q] Nexus s no usb mode!

hi guys,
been rocking my nexus s for a while now but only got round to trying to transfer some data!
I cant seem to get any form of usb mass storage device!
searched and searched the net and cant find anything.
tried installing drivers but nothing and device mangement etc but nothing!
Im not new to the phone game! I actully work in the business and this has baffled me!
any ideas?

If you could provide more details as to if your phone is stock or if it has been rooted, etc. I'm sure others can help but have you tried searching or reading the Samsung S specific forums for others that may have the same issue? For the time being you could signup for Dropbox and install that to sync or move data from your phone and computer.

Not been rooted but is unbranded.
I actually had a galaxy s which had similar problems. I could transfer files just couldn't update to 2.2 due to issue with it being a 16gb and the internal memeory card issue.
That got resolved by rooting if any one has same issue btw.
Does the nexus require kies? From what I found it needs Google version 4.0? Which I can't seem to find anywhere.
Anymore info that would help just shout, I'm new to this forum melarky lol

[Q] Samsung galaxy 551

Using cyanogenmod 7.2..Everything's fine..as smooth as possible..

rooted Galaxy 551 error dialer storage (process com.android.phone) has stopped.....
I am one week into my rooted Galaxy 551 (which I have been LOVING) but last night I did something stupid. It seems as though after I uninstalled a dialer process (with Titanium Backup) i keep getting the above error.
i tried doing a factory reset to see if the problem would disappear...didn't work.
And Now, when I rebooted my phone, I have no signal/no service.
Can someone help me to get my signal/service back?

Maybe you can unroot your phone ..or again install the stock android rom....other than that..try removing your battery and inserting it and then starting up your phone....
you should ask some other members...i too am a noob here....sorry couldnt help you....

Hey guys i found out that the best thing to do right now is upgrade your phone to 2.3.6 using odin and flash arkas 1.5 einherjar rom..its the best and the most stable rom with lots of features..cm7 is still in developing stage..so till arkas 1.5 is seriously good....
Been using for a day and no bugs...
really happy with the results...

Hey can anyone tell me which is the best way to download FULL version live wallpapers for this phone..Whatever i get from market are free version with less settings..and in market there are some LW's which "are incompatible with my device" but when i download those apks by searching in google they run quite smoothly..
So any specific site or method to download full version live wallpapers for galaxy 551??

do not ask for these things here buddy this is XDA developers. u are to support the dev. no WAREZ allowed. u might even recieve an infraction from a moderator for this.. btw welcome to XDA noob !

i just got my l7 LGp705 and i want to know how to transfer my apps on sd card... i have heard if you do root you can transfer apps... so i did but still it wont work... hope someone can help me my phone model is LG-p705 android version 4.0.3 software version V10e-SEP-06-2012.... any help would be much appreciated

As far as I know, only certain apps - or certain parts of apps can be moved for that version of Android.
There is an app called "App to SD" or something similar. I've never used it, I've heard the developer of an app has to do something, but I dunno. You could give it a shot.

[Q] HTC Explorer help and other stuff

Hello everyone, I've been having problems on my phone and I'm not really familiar with anything that has to do with it (and also did some research but didn't find anything). I'll greatly appreciate if anyone can answer the questions I'm about to ask (Yes, these questions are questions that I don't understand) :
1. What is a ROM and why would I need to install it? What difference does a ROM make and do I need a specific android version to run a ROM?
2. Can I update the current android version (2.3.5) of my phone to a more recent version?
3. I've been trying to run Google Play Store application via mobile and I've always had this error come up, "The application Google Play Story (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.". Now I've been trying to find a fix but I didn't find any that worked - I've formatted my mobile via Factory data reset, deleted the data/cache of the application, updated the application to the latest version, I've even bought an 8GB micro SD card, thinking that it might help, even though I don't know if you can and how to install an application (such as Google Play Store application) on a micro SD card, and NOTHING from what I've mentioned just now worked.
PLEASE, I would greatly appreciate if anyone is kind enough to answer these questions because I can't find anything that can help me other than requesting help from others now, Thanks.

It would help me if the version available for download is the international version. Right now, Google products can not be installed, and I can also not install any software that uses location.
The phone seems limited and restricted to China. In the home menu widget for weather and location, where it asks for regularly I can only select chinese cities.
Other than that, the phone is perfect!
