Have not had the Gear S3 long but already I get the impression that the watch face choice is maybe not as wide? at least in terms of official replica ones. I am guessing that copyright issues mean that a lot of very nice faces were either removed from the gear store or never made it there in the first place?
I did find the watchland app but I cannot install the gear companion app in the UK (just says not available in my region) From browsing the phone app though there are some nice faces on there and it got me thinking that surely there must be an unofficial repo somewhere of .gwd files? ones that have been removed or did not make the official stores.
Any ideas?

new to this and trying to get watchland and install it where did you get it from
Fingers crossed...
Could not get watchland installed on the S3.
There are lot of nice looking faces in the watchland phone app, would be good if they could be accessed elsewhere.

I have Watchland installed on my S3 just fine. You have to load the companion app from the Samsung app store and then change the face widget and then load. It's kinda cool because I use it to sideload the faces I make with Gear Watch Designer. I also use Mr. Time Maker. It has an online design tool which is a little limited but it has a big repo of designs made by the community. None of the design apps I have used are very powerful but not bad for basic designs.
I tried this app but fails when trying to install the watch app by saying not available to purchase or not available to this location?

With the watchland app, it will download the .gwd files to your phone. Just open those files with Samsung's watch designer and send them to your watch. Nice thing is you can change up the design a bit if you want.
Great idea Any idea where the files are stored on the phone?? - Ignore this - they are under "watches" in the download folder

Are you looking for the Gear Watch Designer program file for the PC or a specific watch face created with the program? (It creates .gwd files.)

It doesn't exist. Just have to get the phone app, download the face you want to your phone, then email the file to yourself to install from your PC on Gear Watch Designer.

You can download the S2 version from their facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/DaragonTech/, it should work for with the S3 if you manage to install it.

Probably need to sign the .wgt file with your certificate which holds your Device Unique ID (DUID).

I don't know if this app is available in the US market yet, but it became available last night in Korea. It lets you do custom analog watchfaces and download ones others have made.
It needs a watch app from the gear store, a google play app on your phone, and a website is used to make the custom faces.

It works great! I already made a few faces.
It's really a great app. Here's some I've made.
Any improvements let me know!
(28/10 Seamaster updated to higher quality and daylight version added)
Did anyone have trouble with the app constantly logging you off?
Digital readouts or no?
I prefer digital watches instead of the analog hands, but I need one with the date displayed on the main screen, is it possible to make this type of watch face on this website/app?
Not in a hurry because Im returning my S2 and waiting for the S2 Classic to show up anyhow, but...
Not digital, no. Sorry
The app will not allow me to send watch face to the phone. I'm signed in but that option is grayed out. I can cancel or make it a favorite but not send to phone. Am I doing something incorrectly?

Reboot your watch and try it again (holding the home button for 7 seconds)
Having the same issue. It is grayed out. I rebootd my phone and watch and it still does work.
The same here... Sending option is grayed :/ Any clues (besides rebooting, as it has done)?
After installing MR.TIMEMAKER app with the samsung app store you must select MR.TIMEMAKER watchface at your gear s2 than you could send the watch faces to your watch.

I am assuming this will work on the 3G version?
The Samsung app store on my Galaxy Note 5 was messed up so I backed everything up and factory reset the phone. After the restore, I finally can see the app and watch faces in the store again. Yay!
When all else fails, RESET!
Anyone notice the watch face displays Chinese writing with a checkmark sometimes using custom displays? Also I swear it doesn't wake as often using tilt. Could just be me on the last issue though
I get through all the watch creation stages and then it refuses to geberate the watch. Annoying or what. Anyone else got this problem and solved it?

All sorted - I signed out and signed back in - such an amazing app
I've becoming increasingly interested in accessing apps, such as Milk and Uber, which do not show as available on my non-Samsung phone Gear Companion. I found some info on installing wgt files, but no site on which such wgt files are available.
My wgt files are "backed up" by Gear Companion in files/PM_backup/wgt/SM-R730T, but the names are little opaque. For example, tizenapp_1455903893007_temp_file_to_install.wgt. Any idea how to figure out what wgt that actually is? And would others be interested in an wgt archive (for free apps only), or does one already exist?

The Uber and Milk apps are already available for this watch.
Actually those apps are only available if you have a Samsung phone, and are unavailable with all other phones (at least all other Android phones, I'm assuming the same holds true for iphones). Thus the claim that the Gear S2 is phone agnostic is only partly true.
The country that I'm in (Japan) does not have navigator (here maps) available in the galaxy store.
Would someone please post a link or provide the gear s2 app so I can install on the watch to use here maps ??
Thanks
Anyone ???

Have you checked apkmirror.com? Whenever google puts out an update to an app, or any app is updated in stages, normally this site already has it for people to sideload.
What about vpn? Have you tried opening your store via a vpn tunnel? You can set your vpn to other country. Tunnel Bear is a great one, give it a try.
Hi,
I just got my Samsung Gear S2 few days before. Gorgeous piece of tech but a lot of watch faces that I like are paid version. I would love to pay but I don't have fund for it. So after digging for few days, I found an amazing collection of watch faces. Just follow guide.
Very Simple:
1. Find and install "WATCHLAND" from galaxy app store.
2. Set the watch face to watchland from Galaxy Gear app.
I AM JUST SHARING IT... ENJOY...
There is also mrtimemaker and another one that I can't remember

As mentioned on another thread,
(1) Install Watchland app on your phone.
(2) Download the watch faces you want and these will be stored in your phone's download folder under "Watches"
(3) Install Samsung Gear Designer on your PC.
(4) Copy watch faces to a known directory and load the wanted *.gwd watchface into Gear Designer.
(5) Put your watch into Debug and connect to your wifi - making a note of the IP address.
(6) Build watchface and send to your watch using the IP address noted
Hey, has anyone managed to get a tpk for the tizen store?
I'm keen to see what could work on my S3 classic
Can you try to explain?
Tizen Store what I know from Z-series (Mobiles) seems differ from Store for Gear series...
If you check Gear S2/S3 Firmware... you can find:
com.samsung.gearstore as TPK...
Extract from rootfs.img...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71002094&postcount=32
For me it looks like... all Gear TPK and WGT are stored on ""Android Server""... like APKs...
Tizen Store is the Kid Version...
http://www.tizenstore.com/main/getMain.as

Hey Adfree,
Thanks for replying.
I was wondering if someone has managed to extract the Tizen store and install it on a gear s3.
The reason behind this thought is that the application layer should be compatible to some degree and enable user the ability to test apps that are available on the Tizen store.
I will give extracting the image and getting the TPK installed on the gear, later today.
While the gear s3 is a nice piece of hardware, the software support is still poor and if it was possible to get other packages working on the s3 via the Tizen store (even if they are not visually aligned to the gears design), it's still a far stretch better then no app at all lol.
Thanks
Attached little Video... from my SM-Z130H (Mobile)...
"Gapps" is taken from SM-R760 Firmware... but for Installion this TPK.
I was forced to sign with Platform Cert...
Problem 1.
Gear Series and Mobile Z series use few different Certs... for/from "Store"...
Problem 2.
Different Screen sizes...
In case of my Video example...
Gapps not start because Gear System related Info file not found...
My "idea" is to try few Gear Apps...
BUT since few days...
I saw many of Apps I would like to try... are paid apps... for Gear Watches...
For instance Filesmaster... to check if it would work also on Tizen Mobile...
As few of our users have little problem...
Long time ago we had Gear Manager Beta app... for Gear S2
Now Tizen user with SM-Z300H, SM-Z200F and so on can only use Computer with SDB Tool... to Pull or Push few files...
