Windows Media Player Mobile (I use the 10.3 version) can play aac music files.
But it can't read any tag ! Files (with .m4a extension) are added to the library, but without artist name/album name/genre/title... Only the filename can be useable.
Anything to fix ?
Thanks, and excuse my english...
Sorry if this is not strictly on topic, but I am having problems playing video files on my PC which were recorded on my TC. Has the format been changed/tweaked since the Trinity (my last device)? I can't get the files to play using latest versions of WMP, RealPalyer, Quicktime or DivX player (all with -I think- appropriate Codecs; Sherlock utility lists bucket loads of Codecs residing on my PC).
The videos play OK on WMP mobile on the TC and the files were copied direct to the PC using a card reader in order to keep ActiveSync out of the equation.
Thanks
For me, the only way too see videos on my PC is to use Media Player Classic.
I've tried with VLC: video plays but...without sound.

MP4 is now a fairly common video format on the net, and is now becomming a standard format for mobile video recording, takeing over the place of 3gp. If you have troubles whith it, you have several options.
1. You can download the VLC Player, a free, open-source player that plays all videofiles whithout the usage of installed codecs (plays *.flv files as well).
2. If you do some video coding too, then you can install a Codec pack... I recommend K-Lite for that, but ofcourse there are several choices.
3. WMP11 supports it...
All solutions are free... but next time try this:
1. Google
2. In the search field: "How to play MP4 files"

I recomend checking your settings, because VLC works for me. Did you try the latest version? Does this no sound occur whith other file types aswell?
Installed VLC, but like Jules got no sound?
I do however get sound from MP4 files (and other video formats) from sources other than the TC.
So what comes out of the TC does not seem to be normal? (Hence me posting here.... yes I googled (lots) before)
The source of the problem is, that VLC does not recognize the audio stream of the mp4 files created by the TC. The coding of the Audio stream is GSM AMR-NB... so the only option is to get the AMR codec.
The reason VLC plays it for me is because K-Lite is installed (and it contains the audio codec for that).
@gnick666
I use the last Vlc version and KLite Standard version.
And no sound, just with Cruise's MP4. No problem with others MP4.
But Media Player Classic plays these videos with sound.

Klite Mega Codec Pack is the magic solution. Playing TC recorded video fine in WMP11 and BSPlayer Pro
Hi there,
I have been desperate searching for a stream player that can play an Ogg stream.
Tried PowerAmp, WinAmp ... nearly every popular player for android ... still nothing that can play an online stream in the Ogg format.
In Windowsmobile the Coreplayer plays everything! My playlists with online radio stations are being loaded and played there, mp3, ogg streams no matter what ...
I see the Coreplayer project for Android reaches its prefinal stages and hope it will play m3u playlists and Ogg streams aswell!
Do you have any experiences with Ogg format streams? Which player would play them?
Thank you in advance!
Hmm, my thoughts about the Ogg issue seem to be confirmed ... there is to date no app to play Ogg online streams!
Let´s hope the Android version of the popular Coreplayer will play them all
Cheers
I have created simple library which might help you: https://github.com/radzio/AndroidOggStreamPlayer - it is simple Ogg Stream decoder based on JOrbis library. On my Nexus 7 everything is working great and I can play Ogg live streams.
Cheers

Hi guys, right now I'm using playerpro to play .flac songs. But the problem is the player can't detect .flac format. I can only play it using file explorer (i.e es explorer). So I was wondering is there any ways to allow my sensation detect those .flac format songs?
Thanks in advance.
I believe if you have the VLC media player available on the market, that will detect and play FLAC format. If you don't, I am unsure of the capabilities of the music player that is included with the Android OS. I believe it to be MP3, and MP4 but nothing else. That is why I recommend VLC. Also if you have the new WinAmp app from the market that also supports FLAC file types.
Hello all, Ive searched for answers to this but I cant find any, on my device my music player is recognizing all files including some ringtones and video files, and this seems to happen regardless of the music player I install. I have tried the .nomedia file in the video folder and that works but it also hides all video files from all the video players on my phone like mxplayer and the stock video player, my question is what can i do to hide video files from my music player, while keeping the video files intact for video player and gallery? Thanks for your help
