Official AT&T Galaxy S4 Preorder Status Thread

I placed an order with AT&T Premier at 3am on Tuesday.
Ordered two black 16gb.
Order status was immediately at backordered but changed to processing.
I wish they gave free overnight shipping but best I got was free two day.
So it if ships on the 30th (tuesday), Looking at a Thursday delivery day!

Thank you for ordering the Samsung Galaxy S® 4 from AT&T. We are excited to announce that we are able to ship devices earlier than originally expected. Customers who preordered their smartphone early can begin receiving it as soon as April 25th.
You should expect to receive an Order Confirmation email with your shipment tracking number as soon as your order has been shipped."

There you will be able to see if you are on backorder. This works even if you are a premier customer.

ATTBrandon says that att will start shipping on April 23. (This upcoming tuesday)
Lets hope its true.
It is now clear that the phone is on backorder for late orders since some emails are coming in to people saying their order is backordered.

Dont worry. From my experience I never get the emails like "your order has finished processing and is ready for shipment" This does not mean anything. If you check your order status and it says that backordered quantity = 0, you're good to go. If it says 1, dont worry it might change on the day att begins shipping. If you ordered very late, than you will have to wait if backorder = 1.
Should I cancel and try to pick it up in store?
This is entirely up to you. There is no guarantee you will be able to pick it up in store.
ATT Support/Chat said "So and So"
Dont listen to att support. Whatever they tell you when you call or chat online regarding your order, unless they tell you there is a problem with your order is all false. They know as much as you do, maybe even less.

Ordered mine tuesday morning. It says 2-day delivery, but it also says it'll arrive "on or around may 3rd"
I guess we'll see whether it gets here thursday the second or friday the third (fingers crossed!)

That's pretty much in line with what AT&T has said. On or around the 3rd for delivery.

I ordered mine right after the site went live. At the beginning of the order it said ships April 30th. However, halfway through the order process, there was a page that mentioned April 26th. It was either "ships by" or "delivered by." Then at the end of the order, it went back to "ships on April 30th. I'm wondering since AT&T was supposed to be one of the first carriers to have the S4, that the "April 30th ship date" is just a precaution and they might quite possibly be delivered on April 26th.
Anyone else notice this?

Ordered at 7am est on Tuesday. Had to do it over the phone to get an early upgrade but I chose overnight shipping. The order status just says processing. Where is everyone seeing the ship date and such?

I honestly feel like they will ship before the 30th. The 30th date seems like an insurance policy against delays, but I bet they want to be first. Who knows. Wishful thinking.

Around or before May 3rd my status says on the AT&T premier site. Not a official ups or FedEx tracking yet .

I think you may be on to something. I dont understand how if I go on att's site it still says "your device will ship on april 30". No way preordered have held this long. Unless samsung has sent a few million of them. What's the point of holding on to them when there are already ordered in place and they have the stock.

I ordered Wednesday, and called back Thursday to cancel and they said I couldn't because it was being prepared to ship, but my status does not say warehouse. I'm PO'd because I want a free accessory or money off, especially if the other stores will get it first, what the F is the point of a pre-order if everyone else does it cheaper or offers more, AND delivers it earlier. I will return mine and goto best buy, very annoyed at AT&T for not cancelling my order.

I ordered mine from at&t a few days ago. Should have it may 1st as i paid for overnight shipping.

Wooo! Just doing my regular obsessive "galaxy s4" search in google and saw the news. I'm leaving the country May 2nd and only got standard shipping without the ability to change (ordered in store) so this is amazing news for me. Thought for sure I was gonna get the phone May 3rd and be pissed lol

I'm thinking about ordering a 2nd Galaxy S4 but off contract. My family plan is full so I can't add another $10/month line. I can however add a brand new plan...my question is if I add a new plan w/2 year contract Galaxy S4 for $199...then cancel the plan immediately (ETF for $325) will my total charges just be $525 (phone + etf)? Or are there other hidden charges like I still have to pay for that first month of service on the new plan? And do they disable or blacklist the phone you ordered when you cancel and pay an ETF? This seems like a much better deal to get an "off contract" phone than paying the $639.99 for the same exact thing...am I wrong?

a lot of reports say its still not 100% confirmed but I think it is.

Who hasn't got the watch from Samsung.com yet?

I pre-ordered the AT&T LTE version on Nov 11, and now I still have not heard anything from them yet (No tracking number). I called them Wednesday and they said it is backordered and it may be shipped next week. How about your guys'?

I got Mine at local AT&T store on the release day. They had two and I got one. I had the Gear S and this is a huge upgrade.

When I purchased mine, Samsung indicated it would be shipped in early December.

I just activated it yesterday on a Go Phone (Pre-Paid AT&T account). It seems walking away from your charging phone is half of the fun.
My mobile accounts are Verizon and I couldn't activate it any better way.

That is a good way to use the LTE on the watch. My phone is on AT&T and I should've walked into the AT&T store instead of pre-ordering from Samsung.com.

Before I go back to my local store and try again, please confirm. You're not an AT&T customer but the store sold you a phone without requiring you to establish a line (or two) with them? Which plan did you put it on?

Well Its not quite that simple. I had a Gear S with an AT&T SIM card already but no password for the company account. So they let me buy the Gear S3 for the full price without any transfer or new account. I'm sure the Guy said he could only sell to new or existing customers but gave me a break. I then went to https://www.att.com/GoPhoneWeb to activate prepaid. it took 10 minutes.
Maybe they would let you do the same?

I just called Samsung and they said the order is gonna be shipped on December 18 which is very very ridiculous because I pre-ordered it on Nov 11 and the watch was supposed to ship on Nov 18 and now it is been backordered for a month? This is stupid for Samsung. I am going to the local AT&T store to get the watch and cancel the order from Samsung.
Update: They lied.. I just received an email with a tracking number from Samsung saying that the order had just been shipped. Their customer service had no idea what they were talking about.

I originally ordered from Samsung on 11/6 for pre-order. Their site never updated the order with delivery details so I finally called them. The rep said it would ship out on 12/1 (it was 11/18 when I called). At that point I went to my local bestbuy and they had 2 in stock and for the Black-Friday price. Bought one. Went to call Samsung to cancel the order and low and behold, they said it had shipped two days prior and was due the next day. Cancelled the order and the delivery...now just waiting on my refund. I like this watch a lot.

I would do the same if BB has the LTE version...

Anyone from the Black Friday sale receive their order from samsung.com? Or at least get an update to the "Preparing Order for Shipment" status?
EDIT: ordered Frontier model at 11pm PST (2am EST)

I ordered a classic S3 early on November 20, the day the sale went live ($50 off - so EPP price of $265) and it shipped on 11/25 (label created on 11/24).

I ordered a Frontier VERY early on Nov 20th (right after midnight). No update, not even a "Preparing order for shipment"........mine simply says "Boxed item".

I got mine today. They shipped it on Tuesday and it arrived today...

What time zone? I ordered my Frontier shortly after 4am Eastern on the 20th, and it's said "Preparing order for shipment" ever since (and still says it as of a few minutes ago).

Wow, that's odd. I never saw "Boxed Shipment" as a status. I'd call Samsung and get the lowdown.
EDIT: I just received my shipping notification email a few minutes ago. It left Middletown, PA at 5pm yesterday and is supposed to be arriving today!
When I checked the status earlier this morning it still said "Preparing for Shipment" ...

Best buy preorder SNAFU

It appears Best buy has screwed up pretty good. Order went from 4/21 arrival to 4/25 arrival. Call and wait through 45 minute line of people calling to ask about it...Only to be told...Oops we messed up...Sorry about that.

In-store is still the 21st. I am in the same boat with the f'd up shipping though... Website use to say it would arrive on/by the 21st, now same as OP, my order says the 25th, and I cant change my order to in-store pickup...

Quick update called and complained. They are giving me a 20$ gift card. Penance but I guess it's better than nothing.

Did you by chance ask if they would allow a late change to the order now to get it in-store? The website wont let me modify my order anymore, and as of about 30 minutes ago wont let me cancel it anymore either, but if calling them could have it changed to in-store pickup Id definitely do that so I can still get it on Friday.

I tried to switch to pickup. Denied since our orders are processing.

Figured... Thanks for having asked, though. My plan was to get the S8+ on Friday so my dad could get my Note 5, to replace his broken Nexus 5, and switch to Verizon (via Total Wireless) so he finally gets service where he lives... Guess he will have to be patient :/

Plot twist...Got shipping notification this morning. Best buy says it shipped today...Ups says the shipping process started yesterday. Still only shows ready for pickup...Yet UPS, BB, and MyUPS show scheduled for delivery today.

Plot thickens again...Label was created but since it wasn't picked up...Not coming today. Called the BBM store and lady had the box in her hand. Said ups picking it up today with instructions to deliver Friday. I said can I just pick it up...No. so I change it to pick up at ups location. Talked to guy there...And it's going to be picked up from mall, taken to Orlando 2 hours away, then sent back to his UPS store to be picked up after 10 tomorrow.

I stopped in to get a case for my S8. The lady in mobile said they've had the phones for a few day's now and can't release them till the 21st...

Verizon S9+

Anyone else preorder from Verizon? Anyone have any idea when they're shipping? Mine says on the 16th, which would be way later than every other carrier. Sucks because my HTC 10 is dying and I need a new phone pretty quick, being attached to a charger all the time blows.

Update: cc ran on Friday and got tracking Saturday. FedEx overnight showing delivery tomorrow Monday.
I pre ordered on the 2nd was told by the rep that if I signed up for the Verizon up program that the phone would ship earlier. I checked the status today and it has a 3/12 ship by date.

Mine says it shipped today and FedEx says it was actually picked up as well, expected delivery Wednesday

Mine shipped Friday, FedEx has Monday delivery before 5.

Best Buy will be Friday the 16th for any orders. Just a FYI from what I've been seeing. Unless your store breaks corporate policy and will allow you to get them early.

I reserved the past two galaxies (s7 and s8) from best buy and all received them exactly 4 days early. and that was store pickup also. so crossing my fingers it will be the same for the s9+

Least the stores I've been too that's what has been told to me. Maybe the peeps at my place are little more... strict with the timelines.
With shipping might get a day or so earlier but sadly I wouldn't expect unless you get a confirmation 1-2 days out.

That's what I've heard so was expecting that myself when I did the pre-order then found out after the main crazy calmed down that Friday would be the day :/ I mean great, least I'll have it for the weekend, sucks because was expecting it hopefully as early as tomorrow (Wednesday). So eager since I should of never given up my "personal mobile" 4-5 years ago (forgot which) and eager to get it back, let alone be back on android.
Don't get me wrong I want it earlier and hope it does and Best Buy isn't being a stickler for the street date of the 16th. I'd do it early so there isn't a potentially larger then necessary crowd trying to get their phones all on the same day (walkin's vs pre-orders) , but hey I'm just a customer and what would I know about logistics.

Best buy just charged me. So hopefully that means they got stock and will be releasing them soon.

Mine, too. Shipped late Sunday (shipping label), picked up Monday, due tomorrow (Wednesday 14th). Verizon S9+ in Idaho, USA. Can't wait!

Any Canadians buy from the Google Store and receive it yet?

I ordered my 4 XL the moment they went up on the store on the 15th. Credit card was charged immediately. Got an email on the 21st that my phone was "dispatched" and it said it was expected to arrive by the 24th. This lines up with Canada Post's Expedited Parcel delivery standard.
However, even as of the evening of the 24th, the tracking information shows that Canada Post hasn't even received the phone from Google yet. If I knew it was going to be this slow, I would have just waited until the 24th and walked into any store and bought it there instead. Lesson learned.
Anyone else in the same situation? Or did anybody in Canada get theirs from the Google Store already?

I'm getting mine tomorrow (Fri Oct 25) ordered on the 23rd. Got the white XL 64 gig. You'll probably get it tomorrow. There have been times where they don't for some reason scan the packages. Happened to me when I got my Pixel 2 XL.

I'm Canadian (New Brunswick) and ordered right after announcement from Google. Received mine today via Canada Post. Ordered the black 4 XL.

Ordered on the 15 was dispatched on the 22 says it will be delivered on the 25 -28 Edmonton Alberta. From the Google the store..

Ordered on the 15th. DIspatched on the 21st and received on the 22nd. Montreal

I had my order completed and my credit card charged literally 30 seconds after the Pixel 4/XL went up for sale, yet people who ordered later already have theirs. I guess the moral of the story is that the Google Store has no consistency.
Did the phone ship via Canada Post for everyone? Perhaps they used different couriers for different regions. I would have been willing to pay for expedited shipping but there was no such option. It's strange since people ordering from the US Google Store had expediting shipping options.

I got mine today. Bought it on the pre-order and it arrived today via Canada Post.
I'm in Vancouver BC.

Canada Post came and went this morning, no delivery. Tracking status hasn't changed, still hasn't been picked up from the warehouse.
Clearly somebody messed up. With a purchase of this price, you would think that more care would be taken to ensure that it is shipped out on time and not left sitting in some warehouse for days or potentially weeks.
Well, I won't be buying anything from the Google Store ever again. I'm going to go pick up a 4 XL locally this morning and cancel my Google Store shipment. Based on the current level of incompetence, I imagine they will give me a lot of trouble getting my money back too.

Mine has arrived and processed at Edmonton should be here this afternoon.

Decided to contact Google chat support and the rep told me she needs to transfer me to the shipping team as it seems there is an issue with the device being sent to Canada Post.
Had me waiting nearly an hour to be transferred before I just gave up on waiting.
Leaning towards just cancelling my order and buying the phone from a local best buy or something but I really would love to have that $150 credit for pre-ordering. I also had $50 credit from before so it was helping a bit with the price.
Going to try giving them a call instead of chat and see what happens. Man this sucks, was really hoping to set this 4XL up over the weekend.

Isn't it sickening? There is just no excuse for that kind of incompetence, especially from such a massive company.

What version of the phone did you order? I ordered a white 128 GB XL and it arrived yesterday via Canada Post for me. I'm in Nova Scotia. I ordered mine similar to you, shortly after it was available for preorder on the 15th.
It's possible other versions of the phone (color/storage) did not ship as fast.

I ordered the Just Black 128GB model. Seems like it's the least popular option so I thought it'd arrive sooner than later. Definitely didn't expect for an issue like Canada Post not even receiving the phone :/
