I've been told that the Gear S3 is not fully compatible with the Nexus 5x.
1. Is this true?
2. If so, what exactly doesn't work? Phone calls, email, notifications?

Yes, works great. I currently have rooted note 4. Samsung Gear S3 and everything works great. I only use the watch now to make payments. Lol

The Note 4 may be a fossil but it is the latest ( official ) Note available in the UK.
The Note 5 got skipped and the Note 7 has it's own story.

I have a new phone already - GS7E. I'm asking for a friend.
With that said, I can confirm that Samsung Pay on the Gear S3 does indeed work with both the Note 3 & Note 4.

Anyone in Canada get samsung pay to work on their s3 ? I can't seem to get the app even with latest update . Any work around ?

How did you get that to work?
I have a note 4 and my gf has a note 3 with both s3 spay working. The only problem i face is adding new cards after i root it. Without root, it works fine.

Hi All,
I have been using Nexus 5 for a while now, got my old Samsung Galaxy s3 as well. I am using nexus 5 for personal use and s3 for official use. Is there a way I could use any app similar to LG Qpair (which forwards calls from phone to tab etc) which can forward calls and messages from s3 to n5?
I'm thinking of buying a Gear S3 (bluetooth, not LTE) to pair with my Moto Z. Any experience on here with compatibility issues? Limited functionality problems?
I have a s3 frontier Wi-Fi only and I didn't have any real issue with a gsm moto z play. The only thing I noticed was that sometimes it wouldn't connect automatically to phone. I would habe to go in and manually connect the watch through the gear app. It want always the case.

have you been able to use samsung pay (MST, not NFC)?
I was able to with no issues.
I have a Moto Z force through Verizon. I have the gear 3 classic. I use Samsung pay. I can receive calls and I can get text from what's app but not from message+ through Verizon. It notifies me that I have a message but tells me to go to my phone. I also do not get any email at all. I try to get support from all three, Samsung, Verizon and Motorola, no one seems to be able to help. Stuck in a 2 year contract so I have to do the best I can.

I can confirm that samsung pay is working, MST is supported. tested in walmart yesterday
Samsung Pay on the watch is independent of the phone. Other than occasionally needing to sync with the Gear Manager app to replenish tokens, the phone is irrelevant.
Please help. I have a Gear S2 (actually 2, Gear S2 sport, and Gear S2 Classic T-Mobile)and recently purchased the Gear S3 Frontier LTE (T-Mobile). If I wear the S2 and record the steps and then switch to the Gear S3 and record steps, only one or other the shows up in S-Health. Why? I shut down the GS2 TMobile and still the same. I know about the All devices, but I don't want to add the phone steps because it is usually the same as one or both of the devices. In S-Health the Tracking choices are: 1. All Steps, 2. Mobile Phone, 3. Gear devices, and 4. Gear S3. Is this normal? Samsung agent suggested to remove and re-add the Gear S3 to my S7 Edge. I'm leary to lose steps data with doing a backup as I read somewhere on one of these forums that the person lost their data from the Gear S3.
POST YOUR PHONE, ORIGINAL PHONE CARRIER, AND YOUR GEAR S2 YOU HAVE IT PAIRED WITH, AND IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS (email, notifications, apps, calls, etc. not working).
P.S. I'm especially interested to know if someone has a moto z/play/force that is functionally paired with a gear s2.

Together we can make a list and help some other poor soul, like myself, that wants to get this watch but is afraid he'll be left with a paperweight.
