Image enhancement preview bug? - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Kinda strange but when I go to the Image enhancement menu I just get one picture instead of two. Is there any fix for that? I don't even think that when I enable this option my pictures getting "better" I'm using atm the SlimX ROM with unlocked bootloader but I restored my DRM keys. The service menu also says all keys are active. Here 2 Screenshots. How it looks like for ME and how it should be.

Delete credmgr.db in data/credmgr
the phone recreates it after a reboot...credmgr.db can get corrupted sometime by flashing a new kernel or rom...that will fix the single screen issue (since obviously you keys are active)
ps: make a backup before doing so just in case

didn't worked for me. Should I delete "version_2" and "version_3" also? These files are also in the credmgr folder.

That should have worked...those version files are 0 Bytes correct? You can try but I don't think that it would make any difference...
Let's do a little bit of digging, did your problem arise after you flashed a different kernel, if yes which one and was it correctly repacked using Tobias tool?
Flash a different kernel and see if the problem is still there, if it is, delete credmgr.db again....

well this is my "flashing" history:
- Installed root and patched the stock kernel with Tobias tool
- Changed my kernel to AndroPlus Kernel
- Installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/rom-slimx-optimized-rom-to-date-t3497907 as ROM
that's it.

So at what point along the way did the image enhancement break?
I'm sure Slim X comes a its own kernel, probably Zach's, but I haven't tried that rom yet so can't confirm ...flash back Androplus or another kernel for your device and see so we can pin point where the error happens and if it does then delete credmgr.db again...

THIS IS COMPLETELY EXPERIMENTAL. FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.
After getting a full dump, here are some flashable zips for both the odexed and deodexed versions of the stock image.
Note. It does NOT have a boot.img, you may have to test other images. I have not had time to test that these work, but they are straight out of a Google Edition device.

Error flashing zip '/sdcard/Phone/odexed.zip'
I'm going to try to install again using a known working update-binary (CM10.1). Copying over to phone via sideload currently. Will update
EDIT: OKAY. Boots fine. TWRP gave me a weird "no OS installed, are you sure you want to reboot" thing, but it booted up fine. WiFi doesn't seem to work yet, but data's fine. I swapped out the update-binary in this zip with one from a CM10.1 zip and changed the relevant lines in the updater-script to make sure it installs without error. All it needs is a WiFi fix.

Bugs so far:
WiFi doesn't seem to work
Clicking on the mobile data Quick Setting in the notification shade force closes Settings
Installation of ROM is broken out of the box
Its vanilla with sprinkles
Can anyone confirm a required hboot for this? Also side load flash or recovery better?

Theoretically, maybe. There are always bugs. Those are the only things I've noticed so far though. Everything else seems to work beautifully, minimal lag, etc.. I'm expecting a new kernel to fix the WiFi, or maybe OP forgot to include a few .lib files, fix permissions, or a myriad of other things. I'll look into it later today, but so far it works well enough for a DD (minus WiFi... )

Feel free to ask questions, or answer questions by others or interact with developer himself.
Please keep discussion focused, on the topic described in the OP
Please flash this ROM only if you know what you're doing!

▷ FAQ and common solutions to most of the problems ◁
ℚ This Kernel Bricked my Phone, Please Help!
➳ First of all, no one guarantees that this or any work on this planet will surely work on your phone. If DEV got it working on it working on his phone then it should virtually work on all same devices. Still User mistakes while Flashing, Hardware defects and the features in the Kernel(such as Over-clocking) are the factors which need to be taken into consideration before blaming others. ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOU.
ℚ Battery life is so poor
➳ Check the solutions than blaming DEV. Check the wakelocks or apps that are eating up the Juice off your battery. Don't overclock. Check this guide for wakelocks.
ℚ WiFi not working, #@!$& DEV
➳ UPDATE- See this post for WiFI fix
Link for FLASHABLE WIFI FIX
Hey, Everything is tested whether it is Working or not so check for cause.
Shivam Kuchhal said:
WiFi is working perfectly fine and its tested. If you're having problems with it then its the fault of your ROM not the kernel.
Though I have a workaround for you maybe as I was on Parallax for sometime and I might know why's it not working.
Copy prima_wlan.ko from /system/lib/modules/prima to /system/lib/modules/ and rename it to wlan.ko, make sure it replaces the file there. It should work fine then if still nothing then complain about it to your ROM developer for not linking prima_wlan.ko and wlan.ko properly.
"Do not spam the thread".

OR a possible Work around is
1. Flash boot.img from FlashTool
2. Boot to CWM/TWRP and flash the Kernel Zip again. The modules are now at their right place and Your WIFI is working.
If not CONTACT ROM developer because its then a ROM bug.
ℚ I lost ROOT Access
➳ See flashing a Kernel on existing rooted ROM will not result in loosing root access, but even if it happens, please Flash this SuperSu.zip first and you'll get your ROOT access. After doing this, still you are unrooted then you are a special case and please then (only then) post on thread.
HOPE MANY OF THE PROBLEMS WILL BE CLEAR NOW, PLEASE GUYS FOLLOW RULES AND DON'T SPAM ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT SECTION'S THREAD FOR YOUR SILLY MISTAKES/BUGS ETC. REPORT THEM HERE INSTEAD. KEEP THAT THREAD FOR DEVELOPMENT RELATED DISCUSSIONS ONLY !
Add info about fixing WiFi on custom ROMs too and change the title too, I changed my username.

LG 4.4.2 Stock Rom - Massively debloated, only has a few apps left. All LG features should work. Requires custom recovery. Do not flash AOSP or 4.2.2 kernels.
This includes my new updater script for kitkat so it actually has a /system folder instead of the system.img.
You can find the standalone updater script here. I believe it is the first created, every KK rom I've seen is not editable using a system.img. It took a few hours to create.
The kernel is stock but I made some small adjustments and toolchain fixes.
I have a custom kernel for this up in this forum.
Instructions.
Full wipe besides for internal storage
Flash Kitkat modem here (If you aren't already using it)
Flash Rom here (mirror soon, but not yet since I need to reupload)
Flash SuperSu here
If you get a "symlinks failed" (happens right away if system doesn't mount properly) reboot back into recovery re-wipe and flash again.
You are the man!?!?? I should have never left your lg 4.4 build. Flaked another and paid for it.
Thanks again doc!!

It will download if you go to the torrent file using a file explorer like estrongs. I don't know why it doesn't work the way it used to by just opening up after downloading the torrent file but at least your not totally screwed.

twrp 6.3 failed had to upgrade to 2.7 for it to flash.
i've tried every single Kitkat rom I have get my hands on, followed the instructions to the letter and if I turn this screen off and turn it back on, its just lines. White lines or colored lines. Every single f*cking kitkat stock rom. I don't get it. i'm ready to throw the thing into the river.
I know its not your rom, and it works flawlessly as long as I don't turn off the screen.

This is probably one of the most confusing issues to me since everyone here has the same device, downgrading to the same exact partitions yet some people have these line issues which makes no sense to me at all. I've been trying to figure it out but its a pretty confusing issue, its not like we have different variants. We can maybe try upgrading tz and rpm partitions since they will work with this bootloader
The only thing complete stock has that this don't is the new partitions and I'm really not sure why it's causing issues for some people
Is anyone else having issues with the radio constantly losing connectivity, or am I the only one?

Does it lock out loading new kernels?
What's the difference between the 4.2.2 bootloader and the new one?
Thanks

New update out, not 6.0 though...

Just received this update and got happy but it's not the one we're waiting on

I just woke up and got it, too. Anyone found any info on this baseband update? Google has proven useless on this occasion.

Of course it wouldn't be Marshmallow, the international version hasn't gotten it yet. They got this version about a week and a half ago, so good on TMo for being so quick. The international version mentioned better memory optimization, so I hope that made it in.

Shows security patch now. Little smoother too.
It is a lot smoother. Hopefully it helps with battery life as well. 4.20hrs SOT is not the business.
Anyone managed to root this version yet? Thanks

yes you can use this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64161125&postcount=3
this retains stock kernel so no having to deal with any weird issues. all you need to do is odin twrp/philz and then flash the supersu zip.
Anyone have a list of the changes? I want to know if they finally fixed the keyboard lag I have with every keyboard stock or 3rd party.

just need to odin OKC and factory reset. after you do that add a custom recovery (philz or twrp-- if you use twrp you have to odin it twice in a row to make it stuck) then just flash the supersu beta, systemless root i think its version 64 now and youre golden

Go into settings>about>tap build number till you have developer mode enabled. Once enabled go into and turn on oem unlock. Then do the process I stated in the previous posts and you'll be golden.

Thanks so much for your help
Anyone else having an issue with the left corner no longer working after the update. I can't slide down the navigation bar from the left top corner anymore or press back when I have Facebook or other apps open.
