I have not seen one picture on the whole of the internet of a Mi Max in a VR headset!
Has literally no one used VR with this phone? because there is no proof out there that it works with any headset.
I cannot buy a VR headset until someone posts pictures proving Mi Max fits.
Plenty of retailers say that some headsets can take phones up to 6.5" but it is a usually a lie and they have not tested that they really fit. The Mi Max is particularly long with it's buttons so it's more like a 7" phone.
Not possible, I'm afraid. I've got a few cheap VR headsets and the biggest size they would work with is a 5.5" screen, like on a Redmi Note 3. That phone was perfect for VR. The Mi Max is just too big and it doesn't fit the holder on the headsets I've tried.
It's possible I have this one and the Mi Max does fit perfectly
https://www.amazon.com/Headset-Breett-Glasses-Virtual-Adjustable/dp/B01F4YUV3C
Resolution is a bit low for VR. The size is pretty good for the immersive sensation tho.
There's a few options for big phones but you need to research a bit I can dig up the one I ordered.

Thank you for the picture, wow it JUST fits in!
How much of the screen do you actually see through the lenses? Does it cut the screen down to 5" or something?

Bro last week i purchased VR headset irusu mini vr that easily fit 4 my mi max mob.
After much research and asking in different forums, it seems that the FIIT VR 2N VR headset fits the mimax even with a case. (the "2N" is important as there are other models that are smaller)
I cant provide pictures as ive just ordered mine and its still a long time for it to arrive, but i thought i might leave the model in case anyone else wanted to check it out.

I went for the same and it fits fine, thanks for writing though.
Anyone can report more VR headset that successfully tested with the Mi Max (including case)?
Yes I can confirm you can just about squeeze it into this piece of crap with a thin case. The screw adjustment for the focus is awful and the Mi max screen is just too big to provide what I would consider acceptable quality. Also is the fact that the Mi Max is a hefty handset, it's not comfortable to wear because the weight out front. 1/10 would not recommend

Hi All!
I use my N5 almost every day for music via BT earphones. I've noticed that the range compared to my N4 is significantly less.
With the N4, I could walk about 10-15+ meters away from the phone before it started cutting in and out. With the N5, I'd be lucky to get 3 meters before it starts cutting in and out.
Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? Is this going to be the norm because of the low energy BT 4 present in the N5?
Thanks. :good:

I have the same problem. I was wondering if it was the case I'm using, but I doubt it since it's only plastic and not too thick (I have the Spigen Ultra Fit). But I noticed that the range is the worst out of all my recent Android phones. The Xperia ZL and Nexus 4 were much better.
Just putting the phone at the gym on my left pocket (where I usually put it) vs the right one makes the audio cut out on my Jaybird Freedom headphones. This never happened with the other phones.
I'm considering getting the newer Bluebuds X since they are supposed to have better range, but it would be nice to not have to spend money on new headphones.
It works great in the car.

I do know that the Bluebuds X are supposed to have much better range than the Jaybirds I have right now. I just never had any issues with my previous phones. I do love that the Bluebuds are much tinier AND use a regular micro USB port.
I was ready to buy them when they were running their promo a few months ago for $120. They're now $136 plus tax on Amazon.
I feel like I get pretty amazing range with my phone. I can be 20/25 feet away before I get disconnects on Bluetooth.

My Pebble gets GREAT range. BLE can travel much further, but I don't have other regular Bluetooth devices to test with. I'll have to see how far I can walk away from the car before the audio starts breaking up. Might be incompatibilities with the older stack/hardware of the Jaybird Freedom headphones.

I've seen my boss at work always use these at work, looks like the ones on groupon just different brands. Seem pretty popular in terms of usage, so I'm guessing they work pretty well.
Ones boss uses:

So researching and most reviews are saying that the jaybird bluebuds x2 are the current best.
My dog ate my LG tone pro hbs 730 which are older but good.
Trying to figure out best ones to get. Want great sound and something great for running as well. I hear the x2 cover all that. Specially with the comply buds that come with it now.
The other was considering as the new lg infinim. Up to other suggestions as well.
Sent from my non-Mega loved v10 H901.
I'd like to get on ear or over ear, something small tho. The in ear tend to hurt me, on ear might if they are too tight.
I recommend the hbs-810 or second gen tone ultra. Half the footprint of the tone infinim with retractable earbuds. The x2 is my best sport headphone set but isn't ideal for office environments. That is where the tone shines.

first one I found at amazon, $17.95: http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset-Microphone/dp/B002BH3I9U
second one is exactly the same price at amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Univ...p/B00H0CV9TM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8
I figured the last one had the same price. Groupon is great if you want to find a place that has deals on nails or hair or a spa. They've pretty much been selling schlock for years now in terms of merchandise.
Just my opinion, you may have another.

Ive found expensive bt headphones dont sound much better, but perhaps last long fit btter look better or have more features.
My point wasnt to buy them on groupon or that they had any btter price, but more a comparision at sub $40-50 worth buying~
Ive seen some recomendations, features, look and talk about how it feels after wearing for a while. Once i can determine decent ones ill search for pricing.

Was wondering if anybody is using this device for VR and how is the experience? I have never used a VR headset but i would like to know what are some of the best/ most recommended headsets available. I've seen the Zeiss VR One headset but not really sure if there are any features or pros that would make this set a viable purchase over say a 15-40 dollar set off of amazon. Far as i know the only features any of them offer is adjusting focal length/distance? Nothing to spend an extra 60 bucks on.
PS: A large 5.7 QHD screen with stereo front facing speakers seemed perfect for VR hence one of the main reasons i decided to go with this phone over my other top picks. Might as well get the most out of the experience lol

No the Gear VR only works with very certain Samsung handsets such as the Galaxy S6 and S7 Family of Devices. But there are other VR Headsets under the name of Google Cardboard all over amazon etc that will work with Android phones as long as that VR Headset supports a screen size that your phone has.
The P2 from Dodo Case is a great starting VR Headset. It's currently at $18. I love it. As the market sits currently, there is no reason to purchase a $100+ VR Headset. The support is not all there, and the VR apps are just beginning to grow. I'd say purchase a cheap cardboard VR Headset so you can test it out, and later, once more support and more demanding applications are made, then purchase a real VR headset. It's been reported that Google themselves will create a more sophisticated VR Headset, and with LG's, HTC's, Sony's, Samsung's respective headsets, will create a hopefully amazing and demanding market for VR.

the most reasonable ones ive seen were destek and vr box. there about 25 dollars and look to be pretty comfortable
I really like the design of this one.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B4DK0WO?m=A28UPC11K5E82V&ref_=v_sp_widget_detail_page
Pleasing to the eye and looks comfortable.
I am using google cardboard v2, very interesting project, and its good to get familiar with VR world.
Using the ViewMaster, got them for $15 from amazon warehouse. This phone just fits without much wiggle room but it fits. They feel very solid and my kids love them.
I have the FreeFly VR and that really has been very good.
currently i use a homido. the adjustability is ok since you can swap the lenses out easilly for near/far sighted. the main difference between them function wise is some allow for pupillary distance and focal length adjustments *look for dials on the side and top* and optics. the zeiss headset has a very high quality optics set. but you can get by with a cheaper one with a few mods very easilly. *you may have to custom make a headband or padding so you can wear it continuousely.
An option i would look into is a bluetooth controller. can get one for a couple bucks and will save you a lot of headaches from having to take the phone out of the headset to start an app or something.

I got a WeAreVR headset from amazon! Can't expect Gear VR quality from a 30 dollar headset but it ain't to bad for an early experience. Not really sure of too many worthwhile VR experiences yet outside of the big money ones, but as a cheap headset for youtube videos occasionally it's not half bad.
Any updated recommendations for VR headsets for my Moto X pure? I'm in the market. Thx!
I got fiit VR and it's pretty good imo
Anyone know if you can use the netflix VR app with moto x pure and a headset? I think i saw its only supported by the daydream product line?
I like a lot the BOBOVR Z4, a little pricier than the usual 18$ Chinese headset, but it has a good built and lens quality
I am using One Plus headset its pretty decent for the price.
Zeiss One plus.
Sorry to dredge up a slightly dead thread.. But..
Supposedly Zeiss are going to release a kit, which lets you connect the Zeiss VR One Plus to your computer, so the headset functions more as a Rift HMD, which will also allow compatibility with Steam VR.
This sounds pretty nice, since the VR One Plus, supposedly does not need any adjustments to lenses (I am constantly fidgeting with my 20€ china headset, and never getting a great image) and also the high resolution on the X-Style should make for decent sharpness.
And.. Supposedly a set with the VR One Plus and the connection kit, should cost about 150$, which isn't too bad, if it works.
Obviously still needs to be released, reviewed and available near me.. But I am a bit excited.
Question though.. The Seizz VR One Plus website, states that it works with phones up to 5.5", and the X-style/pure is 5,7".. It has a fairly small bezel, but still.. Anyone have any experience with this headset ?
Thank in advance.
(Edit.. What the hell.. 150$ in first article.. Next article states about 200€... That EU tax hits hard sometimes..)
I left my iPhone 6+ for the nexus (don't judge from my past indiscretion lol)
The apple ear buds were quite nice.. They were more than adequate. I have an old nexus pair but they sound like crap all tinny and the buttons do not work.
So, here is what I am looking for and hoping someone can help me before I have to travel with these nexus buds.

Thanks

Any other suggestions for me? Or the best I can do itś going for the degauss labs pocket couture?
Thnx

I certainly couldn't find anything else without the silicone tips and Android controls built in. There are a few Bluetooth options which fit the bill although these are a lot more costly/bulky.

If you don't want the silicone bits in your ear the Degauss Labs Pocket Couture headphones are great. The sound quality isn't as good as their fully in ear headphones like the Noirs etc but I have heard far worse. The buttons work fine provided you get the Android version.

Xiaomi Hybrid! Great quality for the price. The sound clear with a good bass. Super confortable also. And better of all, all keys work with 6P.

Weird, I have v2s in gold, and the buttons work fine on mine, although the top one is volume down and the bottom one is volume up, but that's fine with me.

If so, please share your opinions! If you have any recommendations for a VR Headset where the MI MIX fits in, please post it also!

I've tried to fit the Mix into both the Daydream and Samsung Gear VR headsets, no joy.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing your experience Actually a friend of mine ordered the MI VR Headset to try it with the mix (Regardless the Warnings of some other sites).
I dont think it will fit in there also.
On the other side, there are plenty of VR Headsets out there, i cant believe the MI MIX can´t fit in one of those !
Maybe there is someone here on XDA who can try some others

Considering the screen PPI, size and resolution the Mi Mix VR experience will be quite ****ty.

+ Weight
Now, the resolution is something that made this phone extra appealing to me (fps, fps, fps). But to cut that in half can't be good.

That one also, unless you you have one of the higher end (€100+) VR android headsets which have somewhat decent housing/straps.

I had this one already, and I modified it to fit my Mi Mix. There is a spring loaded clip that I simply took 4 screws out to remove, and the Mix fit into the cartridge, albeit a bit loose. The headset came with adhesive foam padding, so I just stuck some in there, and Voila! A headset that works pretty darn well with the Mix.
I bought mine off the shelf at Walgreens for $20.00.

FIIT VR 2S 3D Virtual Reality Glasses with Remote Controller
I bought from GearBest:

and works great with Mix. Plenty of space and solid construction.
