My v10 has died on me. my guess is that it over heated because its stuck in a boot loop. ATT is sending me a new phone today so no worries on the phone itself. However i would like to get my pictures off the phone...is there a way to do that even though it wont move passed the LG screen? I was told to put it in the freezer and back up everything after letting it sit in there for an hour...but im at work so that wont work? any other suggestions?
There might be.... does it go into download mode? This may allow your PC/Mac to "see" it and mount it as a storage device. Barring that, sadly I have no idea.

Hi guys,
My girlfriend somehow has borked her phone.
From what she's explained, she used Task 29 to wipe her phone, or something to that degree, and then tried to flash a GSM ROM to it. However she in on Sprint, so I assume it's a CDMA phone.
As of right now, the phone appears off. If you hold the power down, nothing. If you take the battery out, put it back in, and hold Vol Down it'll boot into the bootloader (I believe that's what it is, the colorful background thing) however the bootloader soon goes away and back to the black screen.
Sometimes the phone will randomly boot up to the HTC logo, and then back to blackness.
Does anyone have any idea what she's supposed to do at this point? Or what I should do to get a ROM on there? I have 0 experience with Windows Mobile roms, so I don't know what happened or what to do next. Guidance of what happened and what to do next would be appreciated so I can solve this issue and understand the situation past 'is it borked'
Thanks everyone
EDIT UPDATE: I figured it out. Her battery was dead lol however USB charging wouldn't work. I happen to have an external charger hah so I saved the day. I was now able to boot into the bootloader, have it stay there, and put a ROM on there. Easy Peasy.
The port on my phone has stopped working. My phone will not recognize that a cable is plugged in at all. Whether it is a cable plugged in thru ac adapter or computer or car charger. I have tried 2 diff cables thats all i have to test. Thing is I am on refuse and have no way to get back to stock since phone doesnt recognize that a cable is connected. I have tried rebooting, battery pulls. any ideas or suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

If even ODIN mode is not working you have a hardware failure.
Ok not sure wtf happened but will give yall the run down.
BTW thanks for the reply Entropy512
OK could no longer charge or connect to comp so no going stock for me so what was i to do my phone was fubar.
Ok after talking with all the devs and tech support and general folks in the irc that were available I deleted the system folder thru file expert. If cant boot they cant tell that i had rooted and put a rom on there right.
So jump in truck and for grins plug it in to charger and bam get the samsung logo. But i continue to ATT just in case a fluke. Well of course im bricked at this point. They try charge it, put new batt in (not sure if they left it in). Still wont boot (of course) I go thru the dance and of course they cant get it to work. So I have to go thru warranty. They sending me another phone and they give mine to send back once i get the other.
So get back in truck throw my external sd back in and throw on charger for grins again. Bam I get charge screen. I leave there for good hour. Get my baby home run to comp throw it recognized crank up Odin, go stock, and am in process of flashing it back to the way it should be.
Got replacement phone and sent the other one back it never was right always thought it was connected to comp after it finally connected again. And never another word from att.
Not to revive an old thread, but what happened that got it to work in the truck again? I am helping a friend with your exact same issue, and another thread led me here. His port feels like broken solder connections, and the problem got worse and worse, till now it's pretty useless. He's already got his replacement device, but we're kinda scrambling what to do with the old one before sending it back.
He is bone stock rom, stock recovery, etc so the ONLY problem is that pesky Super User Icon lol. Think he'll be alright?
Not sure what got it to work tbh. It just started working. Of course all it would do is charge cuz i had deleted system folder. But it would not boot so of course att rep couldnt get it to boot so said i would have to wait on replacement phone. So just limped it along till it showed up. Sorry that doesnt help u any but. Only thing i can suggest is to delete system folder or brick it to point it stuck at samsung logo. If bricked cant see super user. Thats how sent mine back. Sorry if not much help.
Same. I have a captivate and my Micro USB won't charge.
It also won't connect to the computer, even in recovery. It gets stuck at the HTC One screen with the Beats logo. The thing is, I'd just go ahead and run the RUU, but I need some of the data on it. How do I get that data? Is it totally hosed? I backed up everything the other day, but the really important things are not backed up because it had only been a few hours since they went onto the phone. I need my phone. Right away.
I got it to connect to the computer, so I'm copying everything right now. I might be able to fix it yet.
So I've been v customizing friends and families S3's today even an old LG Revolution, And I finally got around to doing my dad's and was using going to use odin to just flash the stock image of JB 4.1.2 and then boom lol
Anyways, it said Successful and all that good stuff, unplugged it, and then restarted it but instead it just shut off. And it wont turn back on, But it still makes the notification sound on my laptop for when a device is plugged/unplugged from the USB, and it started installing the Android device drivers as well, so something in that phone still has to be alive.
Please tell me I can fix thi. When I show up at his his house later with a broken S3, he's gonna be so pissed, and I just got a new Note 3 and I really dont wanna have to give it to him as a replacement.
Just read this in a thread if ound on here while doing a search - And if it doesn't work you can force it into downoad mode by holding down the power. volume down and power key without the battery and then putting in a micro usb cord plugged into the computer. Then put in the battery. -
when i did that, the notification LED lit up RED, but I think i did something wrong after that. So I am thinikin this is fixable if I can just get into stock recovery and format/reset system and cache.
and apparently this guy had the same problem and fixed his - Update:
Josh over at MTVideos is the bomb. He was very professional and accommodating. They are typically a mail order operation but I was desperate and only a couple hours away, so he let me stop by. As soon as I showed up, he put down what he was working on and jumped into my phone. This was the first 32 Gb version he'd seen, so we were learning as we went. He explained everything he was doing as he went. First, try the dongle to get into download mode. No go. Next, hook up his JTAG equipment and dump a full backup, Justin Case .
Next, carefully write, address block by address block a known good 16 Gb bootloader and test. All the way up to 18 ( which, if you read the linked threads, was where I dd'd the recovery). Bingo. Once a known good recovery was put back in, it booted right up.
Factory data reset and we were off to the races.
Moral of the story: the recovery is very important. MD5 that ish before pushing.
I do still have one issue. When it boots, it tries to put me in Factory Mode, then FC's "factory mode" twice before letting me use my phone...
Again, a big thanks to Josh for helping me out. Those guys at Mobile Tech Videos really know their stuff and are good at what they do.

So yea. dont have Jtag equipment, but apparently this type of Hardbrick has been fixed without JTAG before. Tnere are a few threads/Guides on here. So I just gotta go find a bigger SD Card cause apparently you need a 16GB SD and I only have an 8 right now cause my 64GB got stolen. Other then that I got everything I need including a dual-boot installation of Linux. So as soon one of the Electronic stores around here opens I am going to get that card and hopefully make this thign work.....
I dont get what Happened. I flashed like 4 or 5 S3's yesterday, all of them were on 4.1.1 so I used to odin to flash them to 4.1.2, that file worked fine for all of them, including thw two of them that were Verizon, just like this one is. The phone has never been rooted or anytiing custom at all done to it. And it was not even 3months old. And my stepdad barely uses the thing. Just gonna be one of those days I can tell already.

Have seen that happen when battery too low and messing with SD Card and recovery. Remove battery and sd card a few minutes. Replace battery only and plug into charger for at least 30 minutes. Unplug and Try to boot. If it boots. Power off and replace sim card. Reboot. Worth a shot.
I will try that

Yea that didn't work.

Hi,
I have a problem with my Galaxy SIII. It is from Virgin Mobile..
I uploaded a new software update- I tried avoiding this bc the last time I did, my phones battery was horrible and GPS did not work for a better part of a week. However, the upload message would not stop after two weeks, and it would drop my calls when it was giving me the notice/and or trying, it would also knock me off internet. So I did. However, my battery started to go to crap, at 20% it would shut the phone off, later for me to come home, plug it into a charger to be at 30% not 20%. I found that odd. However, it requested again without remorse, almost 30% calls were interrpted and I thought maybe this "Update again" might fix the problems. Nope, my suspicions became true. I seen my phone with the little droid guy and it uploading. However, when I got back to the phone, it was stuck on a Samsung screen. I can power the device on and off, it will go through the motions if you will, but soon as it hits the Samsung title cannot boot past it. To note when doing the " Software Update"- I had my phone on a charger. So cannot boot past Samsung screen and it freezes there.
I can go into Safe Mode if I use the buttons manually. However, I cannot restart the phone in safe mode. A Samsung guy mentioned that there might be a way to manually type commands in safe mode- the ownly thing my phone might be still good for- using a software that would recognize the device and save info onto an SD card before flashing. He found this out by typing a google search, I tried and cannot find it. He stated the data is probably still ok without a flash. However, how did I get data out of this before a flash lol? Any ideas?
