I'm looking to create a database type app for a small gaming community that I'm part of. I want to be able to take data from a Google spreadsheet and display it in the app with search functions.
The spreadsheet is made up of names and each name has multiple attributes for example
Position name playing style passing finishing overall
Amf Kaka playmaker 83 79 79
Dmf Lodi Build up 85 56 75
I'd like to be able to search within the app for players based on different attributes for example
Position x playing style x overall
So I've a few questions that I'm hoping can be answered
1) Is it possible to pull data from a live spreadsheet and keep the app updated?
2) Would I be able to use the app to set the search parameters or would that need to be set before hand on the spreadsheet?
3) Which software would you recommend for this? Or would some of the drag and drop app building sites be capable of creating this?
I'm a completely new to this so any advice on where to look for information and other helpful resources would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Coruscate Software is a new software development company. We have created an Android app that keeps track of your gas mileage data. It records and graphs various data related to your car such as the miles per gallon, the cost per gallon, or the cost per mile. The application is FREE on Google Play. You can find the application by entering in the search terms of "CSGasMileage" or "Coruscate Software". Being a new member of the community we cannot post a link directly there, so you will have to search for it. We would greatly appreciate it if you or anyone you know would test the application and let us know what you think!
Thanks,
Coruscate Software
I made a spreadsheet years ago that I still use for exactly this... I will probably check this out.
Linked to Play Store.
Testing this on a Motorola Photon 4G (actually the 3G equivalent, but I figure I'll call it by the more popular model's name).
I've been meaning to set this up in QuickOffice, but your app makes it look real easy to do. I use QuickOffice for exactly one other thing, and I've been meaning to make an Android app for it. (Just a redundant data entry task at work. Nothing I'd publish on Google Play. Wouldn't even share with coworkers -- I'm the only one with an Android phone.)
First thing I noticed... We need an option for 85 octane.
Thank you all for your feedback! We have added 85 octane as a selectable fuel grade. It will be available in the next release, which we plan to have out within a week. Also planned to make the next release is the ability to select a gas station via geo-location.
@Kevets: Thanks for posting the link!
Hey guys! I know there are lots of tools out there for creating apps. Im looking to create an information-type app. you might call it an encyclopedia app, or an indexing app. because of its extreme simplicity, i feel like its within my means to develop, even though i have very limited actual development skills.
because of all of the tools out there, which would you suggest is best for someone looking to create an app like i mentioned?
despite its 'simple' complexity, its entirely possible for me to pour hundreds of hours into organizing and providing information into the app. its also possible that some day, i may want to work on the app in another more sophisticated program, if my development skills ever improve, or i want to collaborate with someone more knowledgeable.
all this said, here is a very basic idea of how the app would work
List
Item 1
A
Red
Blue
Green
Purple
B
C
Item 2
Item 3
then clicking Red, Green, Blue, or Purple will show you a description.
anywho, so thats a really basic example of what im looking to do. what type of program do you suggest would be best/easiest to do something like this in?
*using windows
Hello everybody. Hopefully, I have something that some of you will find pretty handy. My app is a calculator for statistics (if you couldn't figure that out) that I think is the best-designed and easiest to use on the market so far (why else would I promote it?). It covers most basic statistics like mean, median, and mode and also many permutations and combinations (full list below).
I wish I could post some pictures or a direct link, but unfortunately I'm brand new. Hopefully, I don't get in trouble for this, but I'd like to at least make it easier for you, if you're interested:
/store/apps/details?id=me.nickpierson.StatsCalculator (3rd reply has full link. Thanks cyansmoker!)
Also, I've included the APK with this post. The app has no ads in it and the source code is open for viewing on Github (message me for link).
Here's the list of ALL the calculations that it can perform:
Size
Sum
Minimum
Maximum
Arithmetic Mean (average)
Geometric Mean
First Quartile
Median
Third Quartile
Interquartile Range
Mode
Range
Sample Standard Deviation
Population Standard Deviation
Sample Variance
Population Variance
Coefficient of Variance
Kurtosis
Skewness
Factorial
Subfactorial (or Derangements)
Permutation
Permutation with repetition allowed
Combination
Combination with repetition allowed
Indistinguishable Permutations
Pigeonhole
The app also contains plenty of handy features to make calculating statistics easier - like saving lists, and a custom built-in keypad. If you would like the full details, I encourage you to check it out in the play store ("Stats Calculator", blue Sigma picture, or search "Piersync"). If you would like a quick back-story, read ahead:
This is most certainly not my first android app, but it is by far my most successful one. I'm not a designer, but I did my best to make the UI as clean and useable as possible. Other devs out there are really setting the bar high, and functionality alone doesn't cut it anymore. I've never had an app reach over 500 users, so this is also the first time I'm recieving actual user feedback, and so, I highly appreciate any thoughts that you may have about the app. I'm also the sole developer if you haven't realized that by now. There is also a pro version of the app out there if you'd like some additional functionality.
Lastly, this is my first time making a post on XDA. Hopefully its a good one and I hope you enjoy my app!
Looks very promising, thank you.
No problem! I'm glad you like it.
If anyone has questions or feedback, please comment. I plan on checking this thread frequently.

Hello !
To change the world around you, to make it a better place—everybody dreams about that. This is why a new Shamworld app is now available on Google Play to let you create your version of the augmented reality at particular locations in just few taps! Now not pokemons decide where to appear but you make your ideas real in an augmented world.

How to work with this app
If you feel that this lovely courtyard nearby really lacks the magic of tenants and some sculptures that you chanced to be passing will really look good with a little twist, then now you can do it right on the spot via your smartphone with the installed Shamworld app. A little left to do—to open the app and wait until your location has been found on the map using Google Maps data. A cute green ant will mark your location. All you need to do is to choose an object you would like to see here and to superimpose it into the camera image. When saving your version of the reality for a particular place, you may also share it with all or some of your friends. They will see your work in the Recommended section and will be able to check it out via the app. Various objects can be selected. There are plenty of ready images and even animated GIFs available in this app! You may choose your image in Gallery or add your own photos, emojis and texts.

Shamworld. Changing the reality
To make sure that the object has been tagged to a specific place, you need to choose an object that does not change its place, shape or color over time. That being said, it is unlikely that you can tag something to a backpack forgotten on a bench or to a cute cat sitting nearby. But it can be done easily with the bench itself. However, the tag might be lost if the bench gets changed or repainted one day but this happens not so often.
Shamworld and the world around you
When walking around the Shamworld map you must have already spotted yellow circles with numbers in it here and there. It indicates the number of objects placed by other app users. You may enjoy their arts and get some inspiration for new objects. There are several practical ways to use the Shamworld app. For example, when you go out of some cafe, you may leave your feedback right on its wall—without getting charged with vandalism. The cafe owner himself may place a creative ad in the app to make sure that no one misses it... 4-inch screen or above, RAM—at least 512 kB, camera—3MP or above, and Android 4.2 or above are required for app users. The better phone you have, the better it will all work for you. You may install the app by clicking Google Play :
