Does a ROM have to be made for specific phone/model i.e. Samsung Jack SGH-I637?

hi there,
Does a ROM have to be phone specific? i just got the att samsung jack and hate the fact that i cant do certain things because the phone is locked and branded. do i now have to wait till someone comes out with a way to flash "THIS" phone or can i flash it with any ROM?!

i love the phone. i just need to flash it somehow with a nomal windows mobile 6.1 version. my phone is from att and is branded. i cant change certain setting with it...bugs the **** out of me...

You have to tell me what software you are currently on the Smartphonie.

Hey guys Sorry but at the time there are no ways to mod this phone aside from disabling 3g and a few other things, here is a good thread explaning alot more.

i have the att samsung jack with windows mobile 6.1 standard CE OS 5.2.20293 (Build 20293.1.3.10)

Maybe he was trying to ask - "Can anybody help me find a kernel which has so n so features". But he ended up portraying it the wrong way, probably coz he is not so good at English. Of course he has a search option and he should have used that.

Not clone. A rebrand. They wiped out the original name tag and placed their own logo and name. It does not have sense UI.

XDA-Premier App Not Connecting . when i install and try to connect says contact the administrator. i try installing Xda-Premier app and tap talk app as well please help. i tried from tap talk. and all its not connecting at all.
The message i am getting is
"Failed to connect to forum.please check with the forum administrator.if this problem persists."

The error is far too vague to jump to that conclusion. It's a possibility though, which is why I said 'probably' in my previous post.

i would like to UNROOT it and install Pie os.
Question is: Can I do it just by Flashing the new PIE Update?

Yes you can, reinstalling the official (stock) firmware will delete any modifications you made to the device

I also got TWRP on my phone, Do I need to Use it or ONLY FALSH with ODIN?
(and im guessing that TWRP will be Deleted once I Install the new os RIGHT?)

You need to flash with Odin, NP BTW, happy to help.
And yeah, TWRP will be deleted but you can reinstall it any time!
