Greetings,
I frequently travel to Southeast Asia (SEA). I have future plans to buy the LG V10 (Model H960A; currently have Samsung Galaxy Note Edge [SM-N915T]). I currently have a Samsung Gear S2 (LTE) smartwatch, but realize that the features of this watch will be limited outside of the USA. I would like some recommendation for the best Android smartwatch that can be used globally. I am leaning toward the Asus Zenwatch, but i am open to any major brand (LG, Motorola 360, etc...). Thank you in advance.
I'd strongly recommend the Moto 360, either generation is really good! Also the LG G Watch R is a good option!
I just bought the Samsung Gear S3, apparently didn't do my research, and failed to realize there's no Android Wear 2.0 support. As an Android app developer, I can't easily port my apps to the Tizen OS and thus have no choice but to return my Samsung Gear S3 for a device that supports Android Wear 2.0.
I've been looking around T-Mobile's website and wasn't very satisfied with their lineup of Android watches. I took a look at LG's watches, which would go well with my LG V20 on T-Mobile, yet saw they only have variants for AT&T & Verizon.
Has anyone here been able to successfully get an LG Urbane 2 working on T-Mobile's 4G LTE network? Is there an unlocked version that would most likely support enough bands on the T-Mobile network?
Thanks,
Nick
I use the att version on the T-Mobile network with no problem. Customer support even got all the forwarding for my number set up for the watch as well.
I put a T-Mobile SIM and it worked , got a signal and showed LTE at times but I got LTE more often using an ATT SIM so I used a Truphone SIM which is ATT MVNO in to use for the times I want cellular.
So yes, works, but be aware fewer LTE bands and it drops signal more often than a phone so more for email notification etc when away from phone.
+1 to post 2 and 3. The Urbane 2nd edition LTW W200A comes unlocked. As soon as you insert the simcard you can use it as an independent phone to browse, watch videos, hear music, and many more things.
HEEEEEY! @keennay You have an LG V20 (H918)!!! Me too! lol. Are you using any custom rom with it?
Hello all,
I am new to this forum and also new to smartwatches. I am currently on the market for a phone independent smartwatch with 4G/LTE connectivity via SIM card and either Android Wear 2.0 or some recent version of Android OS. I am very interested in the LG Urabne 2 considering the great reviews I have read and the way it looks. I have some questions however:
1. Would it be possible for me to buy an unlocked Urbane 2 and get a pre-paid plan with a carrier like Cricket? Is the watch compatible with their network?
2. Would I be able to use the same phone number for my watch as I do for my phone (I currently have a Moto G4 and a Cricket Wireless Pre-Paid plan)?
3. Are answers to questions 1 and 2 valid also for other similar smartwatches such as the LG Watch Sport and the Huawei 2.0 or does each Android Wear watch work differently when it comes to network compatibility?
I would greatly appreciate any help I can get as I am eager to order this my new device soon and enjoy phone independence.
