AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known as Android Ice Cold Project, which started on the HTC Desire HD. Since then many features and tweaks have been added to the ROM. Until Android Lollipop AICP has been AOKP based. Since AOKP stopped the development, we switched the base to CyanogenMod. This ROM is always based on the latest code of CyanogenMod 14.1. AICP is one of the most highly customizable roms that you can install on your mobile device. Some of our devices are being built as nightlys and some as weeklys. Please don't complain or ask for ETA, if there is no update.

ROMs should contain everything you need to enjoy Nougat. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, Google Apps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Install latest TWRP/CWM/Philz recovery on your device.
Make a backup of your current ROM.
Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik.
Flash ROM.zip and Googleapps.zip.
Reboot system and setup!
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

Thinks are looking up!
Thanks! Gonna try it right now.
Excited to see this. I'm on 7.0 at the moment. OK to flash a 7.1? Also, sorry but, what ARE the cm bugs? Can someone point me to them b4 I flash this?
Thanks
EDIT: also, what gapps are you all using?

This is using the NRD91N vendor image
I'm using OpenGAPPS nano.
I think I'm in a bootloop. I'll flash NRD91N and see if that fixes it.
I'm on NBD90W. Wonder if I'll have an issue.

I'd grab NRD91N vendor.img just in case. If it doesn't boot with your vendor now boot twrp again and install that one.
Or restore backup.. all vendors are on Afh. I just google bullhead Afh and then search Afh for bullhead and flip until I see what I'm looking for..
Remember to use 7.1 gapps. It's a no go using 7.0 gapps..

Can confirm bootloop with Jolla kernel running F2FS file system. If I run the stock kernel I don't even get to the decrypt screen.
I'm using Jolla and F2FS too but i'm able to boot just fine after a clean flash, however i can't complete the initial setup because Play Services are constantly crashing (also using OpenGapps but nano), do you have any good alternatives to them?

What was the process you used to install? Also, I get com.android.phone crashing as soon as I go to type in my PIN to decrypt.
Known bug right now, you have to start fresh. Have to manually download your apps again.

I first started by wiping with a factory reset in TWRP, followed by a wipe on ART/System/Data/Cache (Basically everything except Internal Storage)(Data & Cache were already F2FS from the previous ROM, but i double checked that they still both were...).
And then i flashed in this order:
- AICP 12.1
- OpenGapps 7.1 arm64 pico
- SuperSU v2.78 SR3
- Jolla Kernel v10.1
- Surround MOD
- ARISE2.4 alpha4
- Dolby Atmos ADDON
I can try without some .zips, however, I guess that a Play Service crash is 99% related to GApps, but i could be wrong...

This whole flashing vendors thing is kinda new to me. I haven't had a nexus device for a while. Can I just flash it over my current build? After backing up. Do I have to wipe first?
Thanks man!

The only thing I can think is causing my problems is Project Fi. I had the same exact bootloop issue when I built SAOSP-N from source.
I go AICP 12.1 -> Gapps nano -> Jolla 10.1 -> superSU
And I get com.android.phone crashing on PIN decrypt, then the phone reboots (happens every first install of nougat for me,) then PIN unlock again, and finally bootloop forever. I had problems with CM 14.1 as well.
Edit: WOW It actually booted this time. I didn't install gapps at all.
Android.play.media crashed
Google Play Services stopped
Edit2: Flashed the right bootloader and radio. Still everything crashes.

Vendor has to match whatever rom you are using or it will boot loop. So I'd make a backup, DL your vendor now and the one that I named in my previous post and your good if it doesn't boot you can go back to previous. Yes wipe then flash vendor then rom and gapps..I haven't flashed this build but I was on one from previous, a 12.1 aicp he released on telegram a few days ago. I booted fine on that vendor I named in mg previous post and open Gapps micro 7.1 package.
I was not f2fs but this did encrypt me again..

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

If you want to use this tablet for phone calls, see THIS post before installing.

WIFI WORKS - BUT, If you have an issue with wifi not working AND your mac address shows a value starting with 02:00:00, do not post about it UNLESS you take a dmesg log (immediately after a reboot) and post it with your message. Google can tell you how to take dmesg log or see THIS thread.

FIt's of all, congrats for the new thread specially for crDroid. I like it since it has many features and customization, and support Sony's OMS
It's regret my WiFi problem persists as we discussed on LineageOS' thread. I'm quite sure that /efs partition is the culprit. Unfortunately I don't have a backup.
Anyway, thanks for the ROM.
Just a suggestion, maybe you could build Resurrection Remix and AICP as well, as long as your time allows. TIA
Have a great day.

Yes, I did edit .mac.cob, tried to use macloader you sent me but no success.
Maybe @Thanhtho96 and others T311 owners can help me. Thanks.
Where is the link for RR thread? Thanks.
I moved to this from your linage 14 rom and all works well. It was a clean install with nano gapps Only issue I had was after flashing the over clock kernal from the linage thread, my wifi stopped working.
I got that mac 2xxxxxx problem. Reflashed rom again and not the oc kernel and wifi works perfectly.
Im on the T310.
Thanks for another great rom

Jr--gr8nole mentioned in the Lineage thread that flashing the OC kernel on the recent builds will disable the WIFI; I asked before flashing. I assume that he's busy with the ROM builds to tinker with the OC kernel. Or perhaps he can't get it to work with crDroid.
With patience, we await.
I only mentioned because for me on linage it does not break my wifi. I was on the latest linage with the oc kernel and my wifi worked great on my 310.

Right. He mentioned that wifi will break with the OC kernel on his latest 1 or 2 Lineage builds.
New builds are up. You MUST upgrade TWRP to version 3.1.0-1 in order for the Magisk to be installed properly during initial rom install. The install script uses busybox to flash the magisk zip, but our previous TWRP didn't have busybox (now it does).

Yeah, they have a date compare function in the very first line of the update-script that doesn't seem to be working correctly. I will remove it and re-upload (or you can edit it to remove the first line if you don't want to re-download).

If the initial Setup Wizard crashes, use JT1510365's Setup Wizard Fix - Google Drive.
@JT1510365 wrote about this issue in Post #58.
If you continue experiencing issues even after applying this fix, refer to the Possible Bugs paragraph below for walkarounds.
First time installation of crDroid to your Nexus 7 (2012), or new ROM instructions:
- Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (TWRP or CWM)
- Boot into Recovery by holding Down Vol- button and Power button
- Wipe System, Data and Cache partitions (Wiping Internal Storage is recommended, but you will lose any files, bookmarks, etc.!)
- If you want (recommended), you can format ONLY Data and Cache partitions to F2FS. System partition must be EXT4! (Once again, you will lose your data!) (If you use EXT4, you can run fstrim to maintain ROM.)
- Copy crDroid ZIP and openGApps ZIP and gapps-config-grouper.txt to your external SDCard or Internal Storage
- Flash crDroid ZIP
- Flash openGApps ZIP
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET
- Reboot
- Wait around ~ 10 minutes ~ for first boot
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
- Copy crDroid ZIP to your external SDCard or Internal Storage
- Boot into Recovery by holding Down Vol- button and Power button
- Wipe System and Cache partitions
- Flash crDroid ZIP
- Flash openGApps ZIP
- Reboot
- Wait around ~ 10 minutes ~ for first boot
Possible Bugs:
- Initial Setup screen might crash with "Setup Wizard has stopped" depending on Open Gapps or Lineage OS version. DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET step should help. Otherwise, you can skip the initial Setup screen by tapping on 4 edge points on screen starting from upper left corner clockwise. You can also "fix" this by enabling WiFi from notification bar as seen in this YouTube video.
- crDroid 7.1.2 is mostly stable, but depending on different builds and configurations, you may experience System UI crashes. A simple Reboot usually helps in this case. Rooting Grouper with SuperSU and uninstalling some unnecessary System Apps to make System partition have more space may also help.

Building from Source
Here are the instructions to build from source:
Make sure that your LINUX based computer is setup for developing Android roms; you can read how here.
Make a new directory called WORKSPACE as follows:
Code:
mkdir WORKSPACE
cd WORKSPACE
Install Repo in the created directory WORKSPACE
Code:
repo init -u https://github.com/crdroidandroid/android -b 7.1
Add the following roomservice.xml file in .repo/local_manifests within the WORKSPACE directory.
Code:
git clone https://github.com/AICProcks/crDroid_local_manifests.git .repo/local_manifests -b 7.1
Add the following code to your ".bashrc" as follows:
Code:
export JACK_SERVER_VM_ARGUMENTS="-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -XX:+TieredCompilation -Xmx4g"
Then use the following code:
Code:
repo sync --force-sync
. build/envsetup.sh
make clobber
brunch grouper
****! you built it before i did!!!!
EDIT: Nice use of MEGA though, that is honestly my favorite file hosting site
files don't expire for a very long time
you only have to log in once a year to keep everything
its fast and stable
Good on you dev. :good:
its running really fast so far, been running it all day. I don't want to jinx it, and I hope I can keep this performance for more than a few days (only having to fstrim once a week would be nice). I'm surprised that crdroid runs better than slim 7 on the grouper.

Thanks for trying crDroid out. Yes, so far crDroid runs stable for me. The battery life is amazing in Doze mode. I got the idea of building crDroid for Grouper because I have it on my phone as well and its rock solid.
I was wondering if people would like to use Mega as a file host. I tried using Android File Host, but there were some issues and I couldn't open an account. If anyone objects to using Mega, please let me know. I will make an additional upload on Drive or another file host.

The tablet is not butter smooth, but really close to ! For a Nexus 7... it's an amazing improvement.
Any custom kernel to advise ?

Like geko95gek said, any LineageOS compatible kernel should work. The reason why I chose AndDiSa's kernel is that it seems to provide a relatively good experience and the battery seems to last longer between charges. However, if anyone else has any recommendations for a custom kernel, let everyone know your experience with the kernel.
Hello, i am new to this, and trying to to put fresh life into my old tablet (NEXUS 2012)
I know this ROM is for the grouper version, i have tilapia, i hoped i could install this and not use the 3G features, but TWRP errors saying "device is talipa and ROM is grouper" is there a way to force TWRP to install, or will it simply not work unless i use a tilapia rom, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey there,
For now, I modified this rom so that it could be compatible with Tilapia without 3g. Try this crDroid rom:. With this open gapps tilapia fix: . And of course, get open gapps arm 7.1 pico online. Let me know if it works.
Hi, Thanks for the reply, just tried the downloads and get the same fault TWRP still thinks the rom is grouper and wont install it. TWRP gives "error 7" and says the device is tilapia.

I was thinking about making a separate build for Tilapia that has 3g, but I don't have Tilapia so someone else would need to test it. However, before that happens or if it happens, you can just flash the TWRP for Grouper on your Tilapia. You will be able to install any Grouper rom, but it won't have 3g. In the future, if you ever decide to use an actual Tilapia rom again, you can just flash the the Tilapia TWRP back.
TWRP for Grouper is available here: https://dl.twrp.me/grouper/
Awesome stuff, works super smoothly.
I had to exit out of the GApps (by tapping the corners, as suggested [thanks!]), but then all was well.
One thing I've noticed though, when I use the Google app (that I downloaded from the play store), the Google Assistant, "Use 'OK Google' Everywhere" is greyed out... No idea why, or how to fix, but maybe someone knows?
Anyway, thanks for this, my Nexus 7 is useable once again! Hurrah!
Seems to be working great for me. Had to exit the setup by just letting the device lock. Unlocked to launcher, add google account worked fine.
I formatted to F2FS.

Before the Google Assistant problem in this rom, where you able to use this feature in other Nougat roms for Grouper? If this is your first time using a 7.1.2 Nougat rom on Grouper, maybe you can try to fix the Google Assistant problem by rooting with SuperSU and installing the "Get Assistant - Root" app by Shane Smiskol on the Google Play store. This app is intended for Nougat Nexus devices, and it might fix your problem.

Thanks for the idea about swapping from tilapia TWRP to grouper TWRP, that allowed the install.
You can boot into TWRP and flash another copy of TWRP from within its menus ( 2.84 and above ), very quick and simple. (no need to have adb/fastoot)
If you decide to make a tilapia build, ill certainly give it a go.
Once again thanks for the help, the tablet will get some use now.

I didn't actually try to use it with any other roms I used prior, so I'm not 100% sure if it's an issue with the rom or not.
I tried the app you suggested before posting actually, but it didn't work. One thing I did notice, when the "Get Assistant" app went to make a backup of the procbuild file (IIRC), it said that the new file was a duplicate of the backup it made, which implies the line was already added to the rom by default?
Anyway, like I say, not a major issue.
Love having my new (old) Nexus back in a working state!

DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Unfortunately....
Not a rom for me to try then
But keep up the good work, happy to see another rom on the list again!
encryption works, enforced kernel, weekly, montly updates, ota?
Can anyone please post a quick review of this rom.
Any bugs? Does it have scrolling screen shot and internal audio (for screen recording)?
Do we have double tap to wake?
Can anyone confirm that it supports encryption?

I just asked if there is support for encryption or not, as I have my phone with encryption, and if the ROM does not support it, I have to do format data, otherwise I will be in bootloop ... Simple ...

Yes. Great ROM so far. Smoother than others I've tried.
Is there any chance of a non gapps build? I prefer to use FlameGApps, or at least the freedom to choose between available gapps. If not no biggie. Will definitely be flashing tonight!
Awesome rom. Everything looks fine with me.
There are few things for me that should be change or add;
- add option for Force Notification Expanded.
- remove gapps for much smaller size and freedom to choose gapps or gappsless
- change dialer, contact and messaging app to aosp. for better theming. especially pitch black theme.
- fix alert slider ux/toast theme to match system theme setting.
Just my suggestion only. Thanks
First I thank and congratulate Gourav bro for this beautiful rom for our OP3/t.
Using the rom since morning. It's smooth and very quick. No lag or any other problem. But there is no messaging app for sms in the rom, at least in my case it's not there. The same was with Havoc 3.1 also. But my case seems to be a singular one as nobody else has so far complained about this either in the Havoc thread or here. Of anybody else also not having the sms app in the rom?
I also suggest the dev to release a gapps less version. That way we shall have the option of flashing gapps of our choice. Also it will save on data. 1.5 gb data on a single rom download exhausts the daily quota of data of many people.

Yes, same here. I didn't have any messaging app as well but I always pull down the latest Google messages app from the play store anyways. Awesome ROM though regardless ?
