Hi,
I'm a relative newcomer to android, and I just got a new phone, a Lenovo A616, which is a decent super-budget option.
I would like to install Cynanogen Mod on it, however I'm facing a bit of trouble.
I've managed to root my device, however after that I'm at a loss of how to procede. I tried booting into recovery mode and installing a .zip file, but there was no "install or install .zip from sd card" option, so I tried to install a custom recovery, but had no luck (TWRP manager was useless, no other ideas).
So can someone help me? I'm not an idiot when it comes to IT, I used Arch Linux on all of my other devices, but I'm sorry to say I'm at a loss here.
Some help would be much appreciated
Thanks,

Greetings and welcome to xda. There isn't a custom rom or twrp for your device on xda all though i think it is fairly easy to port from similar devices. Try asking your questions in this thread

and the experts there will guide you
Good Luck

hello everyone,
I am new to Android and this is my 1st post on this web site. I would like to start off by saying everyone has done a great job with providing such a vast amount of information on one web page.
My question was, everytime that I try to install a custom rom I will go into recovery mode and it always tells me that it cant mount sd card. I have tried everything from removing the root and re rooting to formatting the sd. I have had my phone for about 3 weeks and it has been rooted since day one. However, not once have I been able to install a custom ROM.
ny help would be great thank you.

is this stock recovery? (blue, says "3e" at the top) if so that's weird, it would normally give a signature verification error if you did something wrong. it shouldnt have any trouble with the sdcard mounting.
do you have clockwork mod recovery installed? by which method? (custom kernel, rom manager) what color is the text? (red, green, orange)
I used the clockwork recovery in rom manager. And when I go into recovery mode it is all orange.
would I be better off wiping everything and starting over?
Good day to everyone here on XDA. I'm a Noob and I need your help.
My question is about recovery images.
Can you build your own recovery?
I came up with this question because of my problem on my phone. I messed up with my phone's recovery and i dont know how to fix it.
My phone is a Cherry Mobile Click W120. Hardware MT6575. My problem started when I tried to flash a Universal CWMR to it and unfortunately, I failed. Now, it doesnt have a recovery mode anymore. Searched about a million times for a solution, flashed hundreds of recoveries via mobileuncle(cwmr, twrp, amon ra, even stock ones) but still no luck.
So, is there any way to build your own recovery? Or do we have a recovery image out there which is compatible to this device?
I hope someone will respond to a noob like me. But still, im hoping someone can help me.
I will appreciate any kind of reply. Either negative or positive. Another question, is it possible to ask someone for the recovery image who also uses the same unit that i'm using? then flash it on my phone?
I'm no expert but I'll try to explain it to you.
1st question: yes, you can, since all custom recovery images are made from source, you can find out more here: http://xda-university.com/as-a-developer/porting-clockworkmod-recovery-to-a-new-device
2nd question: you can find a custom recovery image for popular devices, but you won't find it for every android device out there.
3rd question: he must have the image, if it's already flashed into the phone, I don't think that it can be extracted. you can also flash the stock recovery image if you find it. I can't help you there tho.
Now, I did some searches on the forum and google but I didn't find any CWM recovery image for your mobile phone..
Hit thanks button if this helps you in any way. Cheers !

I have been searching for answer over 10 days, but still can't figure out how to resolve this. I don't how exactly it bricked, it just couldn't start anymore. I can get into recovery menu, but there isn't any option to recover android. It was rooted before, and worked normally. I cant find any other way to flash any rom on it. I appreciate any help on this matter, tnx in advance!

Hello, and welcome to XDA Assist!
Please register for an account so you can post to the rest oif the site. The [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly] thread of the > Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting will provide a good start to resolve your issue.
What seems confusing is that there may be some Arnova's made by Archos. Archos has a forum, but sadly, Arnova does not (not finding much about your device either).
At any rate, try the thread/forum above, and be patient with regard to a response. This seems to be a rare device, so it would be harder to get the attention you need.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
The other way
I understood that the complete system is wiped out. I can use adb while its in recovery menu. I used it to transfer official system image onto it, but in its options i cant find it. I transferred it to multiple locations, all of them can be seen in recovery menu but all are empty. I wonder if there is a way to flash some other android version on it? Or some ROM like CWM, but apparently there are no official releases. And since i am not very good at this i wonder how to make sure that kernel is OK? Can such thing be done? It has Android system recovery <3e>

CWM is a recovery, not a ROM, but can be used to flash ROMs.
With 3e, you should be able to flash the stock ROM for the device via adb (called side loading). So that may work for you.
Hope this helps.

Hello all
I don't want to be that guy that makes one post and runs for the hills I actually want to be part of the community, unfortunately this current situation is driving me nuts, to the point where I just have to post.
You see I own a cubit x17 that features quite a lot of bloatware and malware that needs removing.
I have rooted my device using kingroot and even gone as far as to install TWRP. I have downloaded a custom ROM for my phone that is saved in my downloads.
The problem is I just can't figure out how to install it...... I've tried everything from using TWRP to manual booting (there's not a single install option on the manual boot screen) and as far as I know no SD card in the phone and I cant seem to find the download folder from the boot screen.
Please can somebody help before I pull the remaining hair I have left out.
Hello and thanks for using XDA Assist,
Your device does not have a device specific forum here on XDA, Please create a thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. Experts there should be able to help you.
Always read carefully before proceeding.
Good luck,

Ok, I am new here and I do not have a lot of experience with trying to flash phones. I decided I wanted to try it on my Samsung Galaxy S6. I have managed to get as far as the TWRP screen on the phone after rooting, but I cannot get the phone to go back to normal, if that makes sense.
All I have is the Team Win Recovery Project 3.2.1.0 screen with install, wipe etc but no matter what I do I can not move on from there.
I had previously downloaded all the files that I thought was needed but still cant do anything.
Any help greatly appreciated, and sorry for being a dumb newbie and not really up to date on all the terms, so any explanation as to what I need to do in simple terms would be a great help.
Thank you
You can download custom Rom on your pc and install with sideload or install stock rom with odin
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I have it all sorted now
