Minor issues after LCD replacement - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I replaced the LCD a week ago, but still have some minor issues:
- I only have backlight but no image on first boot. When I see the backlight disappears and thus know the phone has fully booted, I press the button and image is perfectly fine again. This is only with a first boot, when pressing restart it works just fine.
- I restored the phone using Xperia companion. At first start, the whole screen turned white and had all kinds of color deformations. I thought the screen was toasted! After that, image slowly came back leaving white edges around the corner. But also these slowly faded away and now it's fine again.
Does this sound familiar to someone or do I have a possessed phone??!?

Have you done the screen yourself? Have you transferred several sticky items (from the original sceen) that provide shielding from electric/magnetic fields? Are there any other problems with the screen: uneven patches or spots? Also, just removing the flex contacts and putting them back may fix the problem. Also, some after-market screens may not work properly with a non-stock kernel. If nothing else helps, try to flash pure Sony stock, reboot and let it settle. Rumour has it there is a screen calibration going on when you install original stock rom...

Thank you very much for the quick reply!
Yes I have done the replacement myself and transferred everything from old to new. I have done the Z3 before and didn't notice something unusual. No other issues except for the deformations when restoring with xperia companion. I will try to reopen the back and clean the connector again. How do I flash stock Sony? Is that different from using the repair function from the Xperia Companion software?? Thank you again!! :highfive:

Need help identifing reason for strange and frequent freezes

Hi guys
I have this strange behavior going on in my Sentation.
Out of nowhere my phone started to have strange screen behavior... Didn't light up after pressing the power button (had to phone my self in order to get screen on).
The next thing was that suddenly the screen goes to maximum brightness or goes to minimum without any explanation (tried both auto brightness or manual).
After that I noticed that the screen went off when I was using it but when I pressed the left side of it it lighted up and off again... making me think of some kind of bad contact underneath. As I already had changed a broken touch screen for t3 times, and let the phone fall for several times I thought it had to do with some plug out of line...
I disassembled the phone completely and mounted up back again. The thing is that the phone started to freeze every 5 minutes (screen on but completely freezed. I have to pul out battery). Sometimes it freezes even in the recovery menu. I've tried several rom's with full wipe and not installing anything and its all the same.
Some times I still not that the screen goes off during the freeze but when I touch the left side it goes on again, but that doesn't change the freezed state even that I let down the phone for several minutes.
I disassemble the phone again, tried different back cover and different battery (one stock and other extra strength) I tried also all the suggestion related to the small pin in the back not connecting well with the back cover (adding an aluminium foil, pulling the pin out, etc..)
Nothing seams to resolve anything so I have clearly an hardware problem... but I don't know what to replace or where to look the damage!!!
Can anybody help me please?!
Update
I have an update on my problem:
I noticed that when I leave the phone on top of some kind of metal part and don't touch it it works all day without any problem but, as soon as I start to touch the phone, it freezes within minutes!
Could it be some kind of static electrical problem? How to resolve it?
I would apreciate any help
Thanks

Weirdest display issue

Hey guys,
I have a really strange display issue with my Galaxy R.
I'm on CM10.1 nightly and already tried different nightlies with factory reset and wipe data/cache.
If the phone is not used for a while (sometimes even after 30 minutes), meaning it is on and screen is off, the display won't turn on anymore.
So I press the power button and the capacitive buttons light up, but the screen stays completely black.
Today I noticed that I can even use the touch screen and I could hear all sounds, I even managed to open the dialer and start typing blindly and it would make the dial sounds.
But whatever I try, the screen won't turn on.
Also, it seems when I'm connected to a charger and/or connected to wifi, this problem doesn't seem to occur.
Then I have no choice but to remove the battery, but then often I can't even start the phone.
Sometimes it takes some minutes, sometimes a really long time until I can start it again.
Usually the battery isn't drained, this only happened once.
This occurs after I dropped the phone twice, so it might be related to that.
(Though before I've also dropped it and this never happened.)
Any ideas?
flash stock ics and see if problem persists.
once i flashed a custom rom and faced this issue, reverted to stock and now my device is running with zero issues.

I tried to find the stock rom online, but all links seem to be down.
Do you know where I can get it?

You need to register and then download from here.
Thanks for that, I installed newest stock rom.
Could boot fine, set up the phone, put it to the side.
One hour later I checked it - same problem again.
Capacitive buttons flaring up, screen not.

Then you should visit SSC. They can only repair your device.

Random screen crashes, freezes, glitches

Hello! I have a stock Android Lollipop 5.0.1 Nexus 5 and for the past week or so I have been experiencing a weird issue.
The device randomly crashes. By "crashes" I mean the screen goes black, but the backlight is still on (it's a lighted black). I can push the power button and it will turn completely black (locked) and if I push it once more it turns lighted black again.
To get the device back into usable state I have to keep the power button pressed until the phone resets. Sometimes I keep it pushed for a full minute and nothing happens, sometimes 10 seconds are enough. Sometimes it will go through the "Google" logo and then stay in the lighted black state until I finally manage to reboot it again. Sometimes it crashes again right after it boots up.
It's weird because a lot of the times it's ok throughout the day and then when I go out in the evening, I take it out of the pocket and I see it crashed. Sometimes it crashes while I actually use it.
Last night it started doing something else: instead of lighted black, the screen is filled with static noise. It doesn't move or anything, it's a still image. Today, when a crash like that occurred, the screen glitched first (random lines on the screen, some parts got moved, really weird). I will get some photos if it happens again.
The problem is that I can't identify what's causing it. There is no particular app or action that I do / use that triggers this. It also doesn't seem to be movement-based, as it sometimes happens while it's sitting still on a table.
I updated to 5.0.1 about a day before this started happening, but I'm still not sure if it's software or hardware-based.
I tried a factory reset and booting into safe mode, none of these helped. I will only consider flashing a custom ROM as a final resort, because I'm not sure if it voids the warranty.
PS: the device is still under warranty, but I'm away for the holidays and will be until the beginning of the next year. And I'd like to have a usable device, especially while I'll be on the road.

I have none of your issues, try booting the device in safe mode and see if the problems still occure. It must be a or multiple downloaded apps that are causing your issues. Or try a data factory reset and restore/download your apps one by one amd try to identify the culpritt.

I said in the post that I tried both of those things. The crash occurred seconds after booting in safe mode and factory reset did not help either.

Flashing the 5.0.1 factory image in fastboot should fix your issues. Or try flashing system.img first, maybe thats enough.
Same issues with my Nexus 5

I am experiencing SAME exactly issues in my N5 with 5.01 and 5.1 . EXACTLY... you are not alone
Seems a software problem (third party app ?) , started in 5.01 and now is in 5.1 , of course system and boot images where flashed with fastboot, so no solution using
Stock, Rooted, using Nova Launcher - Smartwatch 2 - Google Cardboard - Chromecast and many apps.
But started ..if memory helps .. after installing Cardboard 3D apps.

Display replaced ---> now every 9 seconds it goes black

Hello my friends,
long story short, I totally destroyed my screen, so I ordered a new one from ebay, for my XT1032, replacement went without problems, everything works perfectly but screen turns black for 0.4 second every 9 seconds (aproximatelly) - do you have any experiences with this behaviour? Or any suggestions where is the problem?
Aditional information:
1. as I said, phone version is XT1032 and the new display too (I have not found any difference between old and new one)
2. I checked contacts 3 times, I think, everything should be well connected
3. touchscreen, cameras, battery, speaker, sensors are working as they should
4. I tried to factory reset, didnt help
5. I have old Cyanogenod 6.0.1., so I have made some customisation
6. My last guess is that as I made different customisations to the software side of my phone, maybe the new screen isnt set up for something like that, and I need to do the same customisation from scratch, with the new display.
EDIT 1:
Display in Bootloader and Recovery is working without turning black
I tried to factory reset and flash a different ROM, but didnt work and display still turns black
(I wanted to destroy it because new Moto G gen5 came out , I tried hard to destroy it, but everything is working perfectly, just screen was unusable, so I said: Hell yeah, this phone is godlike, I will keep it )
Thanks for any suggestion.
So old screen doesnt do this strange black screen, so definitelly it is an issue of the new one. My last guess was that something can be wrong with the proximity sensor, but it turns out that probably it is not the problem. I will try to return the display. I have enough and I end this.

xperia xz display(black screen) not working (randomly) help me.. please..

1.
First, the current situation is that the screen does not come on while the power is turned on.
If you look closely, the light of the screen comes out, but it is a black screen.
So when I press the power button several times, I sometimes see the screen once, and when it is bad, the screen keeps blinking only on the black desktop.
No matter what I did, it was not restored, I disassembled it, pushed the battery part for a while, then contacted me again, and the screen started to come out again! However, after about three hours, the symptoms began to appear again. Now I keep repeating this phenomenon and just use my cell phone.
2. ((First things I did.))
I used the flashtool to update my stock firmware. Soon after I knew the wrong thing, I put the firmware over again. I tried to get the firmware for my country. Then I was disappointed to see that the TTA-VOLTE I wanted was still not working. So I decided to install Android 9.0 (Pie) and install TWRP and install it as WIPE. It was the beginning of all these.
Since then the above symptoms have been manifested and the stock firmware does not work even if you do anything
please... save me... :crying::crying:
