Nexus 5 do recognize larger battery - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Staff, recently bought a parallel battery for my Nexus 5 with a capacity of 3,200, I know it's hard to battery actually have this capability, but my Nexus brand 2,300 fixed and it is impossible that this battery is 100% identical to the original.
Does anyone happen to know how to change the Nexus / Android to even acknowledge this larger battery?
Grateful!

With G2 3000 mah genuine new battery...
Gaming ~2 hour (not so demanding game), 4G browsing 1.5 hour, SYNC ON, was using GPS for ~30 minutes, talking ~40 minutes. lasted ~33 hour, watching TV shows which i had downloaded to the phone.

It's a great performance.
But tell me, and change the battery made any further modification?
You must change the Android (I'm using Android 7.1 on my Nexus 5) or do some kind of mod or hack to be actually recognized the high capacity of the battery?

Just drain new battery so phone shuts down itself. then charge it for ~3 hours. then drain it then charge it ~3 hours and drain it, after that charge it until it will say 100% then disconect charger. That's it.

can you please explain again?
did you say that you've managed to purchase a 3200 mAH G2 battery that fits exactly as the original N5 battery?
if so, is it that the N5 is not recognizing the additional capacity?
is it possible for you post pics of the new battery and a link where you purchased it from?

In the total battery capacity indicator, is 2,300 or the actual capacity of 3,000?

I bought a parallel battery for Nexus 5 but with larger capacity.
I know he will never really have the 3,200, but I believe he has at least 2,900.
The problem is that the Nexus 5 does not seem to know how to use the full charge of this battery.

anything more than the standard 2300 will do wonders for me..
2900 is as good as 3000 as far as i'm concerned and much better than 2300..
please, please, please, provide some pics, name or link to purchase this battery..

bay 2300mAh Battery $17

Just received mine in the mail today from China. Thanks to s0cc3rstud for the find. I am going to test it out and come back to do a write up on the results after a few days. First off though it only looks a tiny bit bigger then stock. Although it feels heavier. But then again that could be the placebo effect.
2300mAh Battery for HTC Sensation G14 Pyramid z710e
interesting. I wonder how they packed so much juice into only a slightly larger battery.
Let us know if it lives up to the 2300mAh.
Best test you could run is to get/borrow a voltage meter and test the actual capacity of the battery.
I just got mine today as well. Initiallly it was almost full so I topped it off. The battery is draining fast. Almost 15% in first hour in standby, but I will drain it and recharge and see. Listing stated to drain and charge 3 times to get peak performance

Also don't forget to wipe battery stats.
let us know your results.
Be weary for low quality batteries as it can destroy your equipment.
Might be wrong but this sounds too good to be true. I even doubted the anker 1900 Mah for 10 bucks but bought it after so many positive review. Let us know.
I got a free 2300mAh battery for my Sensation and it works fine.. I think it lasts longer than my official HTC battery but it's hard to really test it because I'd have to fully charge and then kill both batteries doing exactly the same tasks for the same amount of time.. but honestly I think the 2300 is better..
8 hours of mild use, no wifi, no gps and Im less than 20%. That sucks. Not as good as I expected. I will drain dry and erase battery stats via recovery one more time and see what happens.

I think this is 1200mah
Get it tested.
ok, testing continued.....
Phone sat untouched all night with no charger plugged in. Went from 100% to 70% in 11 hours. Im still not convinced that the battery is still 2400 mAh
Well day two was interesting. First off I can say without a doubt in my mind that this is NOT a 2300 mah. Seems to hold better then stock though... but not by much. I unplugged it at 6am and with moderate use it is now at 18%. Battery indicator app. say it has been unplugged for 14 hour and 40 mins. So I guess over all $17 for a spare isn't bad at all. Just really wish it lived up to the promise.

Open it up. It's probably like the "made in japan gold business" battery - a small battery with spacers on the sides
when will people learn. there is no magic way to squeeze another several hundred mAH into the same size. these batteries are almost always a scam. check out www.batteryboss.org for a guy who tested several of these some time back.
Ok found a nice apk that give the mah of the battery. Looks like it is 1580 mah.

Your wrong. That is standard for that app to say 1580mah for the sensation. You can make it say that the battery is 5000mah!

$17 is way too much for a spare. I got supposedly 3 1600MAh (I would guess they would be 800MAh-1200MAh actually) batteries and an external battery charger for $16. Also, nicky041192, why would a battery app say 1580MAh no matter what battery you had in it, considering the stock battery is 1520MAh.

Andida 1800mah battery

Purchased this battery on ebay the other week and its been great. so far I've been conditioning the battery as stated in the ebay seller post by draining the battery 4 times. Each time the battery lasts longer and longer. Average battery life on the stock oem was about 14hrs with moderate use. The new battery has so far been 16+ hours with today giving me 20 hours. The stock battery never gave me this kind of life before. For $15 I'd say this is a steal for the ammount of performance you get. The seller I got the battery from was called ladyblue, I will post a link to the store when I get to my pc later today.
EDIT: Here's the link

Interesting... but no special brand?
And the size is not bigger? I saw a battery which was bigger than the normal one and comes with a special case.
No special case, it fits in the same slot. It definitely weighs more than the OEM battery. Andida is big brand, they make batteries for lots of phones just check out the rest of the store. Andida even has a web page http://www.andida.hk/en/main.asp
I could have sworn any larger mah batteries - EDIT - for the Nexus One -/EDIT- would require the battery to be larger then the stock...
Kind of skeptical on this one.
Perhaps I will order this, it sounds really good and the price is not too high.
As long the battery will not explode around me...

No, the battery reads 1450-1500mAh. I just got it and calibrated it once already. I want to do a drain test and see if does any better than the stock battery before leaving negative feedback on the item.
IMO it lasts a bit longer than the stock battery. Its not anything mind blowing but you get like an hour or two more than what you did before... i noticed that the battery screws around with the Battery status. Sometimes you will see that its at like 15% but if you leave the screen off it will "Charge up" and it will go up to like 23%.

Note: you gotta drain it and fully charge it 4 times charging it to 100% and leaving it there for 20 min..

How long does your phone work and under which conditions ?
well, it's hard to say. it depends on how to use. for me, it lasts all day(daytime), compair to an orignal one lasting about 8h.

Sounds good!
Thanks the for recommendation. It looks like the N1 will get Jelly Bean thanks to Evelvolv, so why not give the trusty One a new battery.
I have this battery for some like three weeks.
Problem is calibration.
I had the problem that I missed just an hour battery time with my stock battery every day.
This is no problem with this battery anymore.
Yet I guess the performance could be better it will go only to 92% of full load, at least said so by the nexus one battery calibrator.
Also when the battery goes low at some point android will report a low battery and display a yellow bar. Short time later it is back to green. I guess this is due to false calibration.
I want to calibrate it with nexus one battery calibrator.
But here I can not set the maximum of 1800mAh it will only set a really high number of "27306" when I try to set "1800".
Also Capacity is said to be 104856 mAh.
Anyone with the same problem?
as i said, it works well with CM7.2. it indicates a battery life in the way it should be.

I tried the one from the thread.
I guess it is due to the battery sending false data or the app reading it wrong.
I calibrated it manually now.
I discharged it completly. Then put it on again with the charger connected.
I pulled the charger when it was booted and let it discharge for about a minute or such.
Then I set it to airplane and did not touch it overnight.
Now the battery runs much longer.
I had with stock battery after a normal day of use usually not enough battery. It usually died in the evening at work.
Now leaving work I still have a bit less than half of the battery left.
Great!
Great stuff

Yes all batteries should be flat...Did you try new battery with different ROM ? Maybe you are heavy user and you overheat your battery(To much time on phone, you are using your phone while charging etc..)you should check you battery temp when you are on the phone (dial *#*#4636#*#* and go in to battery info) and please use your original htc charger if you do tests with new battery and different rom ... If is the same maybe you have hardware issues..

Hyperion 5200mAh Extended Battery For Galaxy S4

Hello,
Does anyone have any experience with Hyperion extended batteries for the Galaxy S4?
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Sams...F8&qid=1386316276&sr=8-1&keywords=s4+hyperion
I'm going to be ordering one soon but thought I should ask about the performance and experience by people who may have used it. It says that the battery now has NFC, can anyone using it confirm if it is true?
The battery has positive reviews on Amazon. Can anyone also tell how fat does the S4 get when used with the battery? Also what timings are you guys getting with the battery? Is an external case needed to avoid any ugliness or anything?
All this and if you have anything to else to add would be of great help.
I had a Hyperion with my s3 and it was a good battery. They have great customer service. It seemed like it started draining a little more than normal at 6 months or so but it could have been my imagination or poor cell signal. I emailed them for help/info and they rushed another battery out free of charged. Was willing to send the old one back but they told me to keep it.
I'd definitely buy from them again. I did get mine on Amazon like most things I buy. Went with a 3000 mah zero lemon for my s4 due to size. Lots of nice cases for stock size phones. Would love an extended waterproof case.
Curious about this as well. I had one for my Galaxy Nexus and it was great. Made the phone usable for most of the day finally. This phone has been pretty decent on battery, but when I know I am going to be using it a lot more it would be nice to have the extra battery.

Hi,
I have had them for my S3 and now my S4.
I have one of the 5200's for my S4. I get at least
2 days out of it with 20-30% left on second day.
No complaints at all.
Ken
Likewise, I have used Hyperion extended batteries in my S3 and now the 5200 in my S4. No complaints except I would like to find a water resistant extended protective case.
I have the 7500mah battery for my phone. And I can say I'm very pleased with it. The case it comes with is actually easier to hold. I'd definitely recommend it. I actually got around 11 hours of screen time when I first got it!

So it's been three days since I received my Hyperion 5200mah battery. Although the correct battery timings and percentage maybe shown after 4-5 cycles of charge-discharge-recharge, I'll post the screenshots of mine and will post again after the 4-5 cycles...

The charge cycle said is to be 10-12 hours however the battery is charging to a full faster than the said time. Could it be because of the difference in voltage? If I'm not wrong, US uses 110v mainly and here in KSA we have 220-240v. Could it be because of this?
Got a quick question!
I was instructed to let the phone charge for 10-12hrs even if the phone shows 100% full charge notification. How did you guys charge it?
You are not forced to charge it that long on first charging process. I did it not and do not have any problems.
More important is that if you charge your phone from now on, you have to charge 1-2 hours longer (depending on battery size 5200 vs 7500 mAh) after you have reached 100%.

1100 mAh battery

Hi, did anyone try 1100 mah battery for Huawei Watch 2? I found it on aliexpress, stock battery is 420mAh and it's not enough for a normal use. 1100 mAh should be better but i'm scared it can burn or damage the watch? Anyone has been more brave than me?
Well, nobody answered, but I can tell you it's 100% scam.
Physically it's impossible to build such small battery with such capacity.
It's interesting that this seller has sold 39. But they sell HW1 and HW2 1400mah and 1100mah respectively. Their batteries are a lot more expensive then the regular 420mah batteries. SO it does make me wonder if these are higher capacity batteries.
If there is room for a slightly thicker and bigger battery than the original then it is possible to archive a higher capacity. Though 1100mah seems pretty ridiculous I would be curious to know what the true capacity is.

I ordered it, will test
I ordered it too and it arrived yesterday.
I installed the battery but I broke one of the plastic luggs off the watch that allow the strap to clip in so all my testing so far is in "off wrist-mode" which disable's the AMOLED hafter a period off time. I am making this clear as my watch is showing me i am likely to get 3-4 days of usage. Previously it was 1-1.5 days. This all made me very excited. However I ran some debugging tests on ADB, specifically:
adb shell
dumpsys batterystats | grep "Capacity:"
Estimated power use (mAh):
Capacity: 410, Computed drain: 114, actual drain: 65.6-69.7

It's not reassuring to see the capacity listed as 410mah. I assume the watch reads the capacity from the battery itself as opposed to capacity being hardcoded in the rom/os. I suspect because it's a new battery that the health / capacity it much better than the older (4yr older) battery which is replaced. But also because the watch is "off-wrist" I am going to see better performance.
As for the second command above I am little unsure how to interpret it. i thought maybe these were reference to total and current mah

What are your findings? ad14051991
My lug broke off and I only fixed it yesterday so only testing battery life now.

My first test I left it off my wrist and it lasted 4 days. But I think when it's off wrist it goes into power saving mode because it doesn't need to detect heart-rate (if enabled) however I still felt 4 days was an improvement.
But then I left the watch battery flat for 2 months. Fixed the lugged and started wearing the watch again. The last 2 charges have lasted about 2 days. Which is similar to what I was getting with the stock battery.
I am unsure if leaving the battery flat for 2 months has done any damage or change to the capacity. But since it was a new healthy battery I imagine it hasn't. Perhaps I need to leave the watch off wrist again and see if I get 4 days still.
I guess results are still inconclusive at this time.
Please keep us posted with the testing.
Double the battery capacity would be the best improvement.

I side loaded accubattery which calculates the mAh drain vs percentage of battery added whilst charging. I have only run it down once but the results were better. 481 vs 410. Still way off 1100mAh but I'll see how it goes the next few drains.

Well, nobody answered, but I can tell you it's 100% scam.
Physically it's impossible to build such small battery with such capacity.

^Spot on.
OP, just be glad it's seems within the OEM capacity range...

i have also changed the battery with an standard capacity one, and got the same results. however lost the heart rate monitor :-( and couldn't identify why....
