I have a J7 I got from VirginMobile
(We Only use as a WiFi Phone MP3 Player - I had all sorts of credits with them and "bought" it with credits as you cannot use credits to pay bill - my wife has a 10 year old "dumb" phone from them and a 7$ a month voice plan and that is all she wants for a phone)
Anyway Now and then the sound drops so low you have to hold it up to your ear, to hear ANY type (Ringtones, Music etc) of audio even when ALL volumes are at Max.
If I reboot it - sound goes back to normal
But this is a pain
Anyone else have this issue (and a fix for it)?

I just got the charge today, and one issue is killing me. I drive about 6 hours per day. My android phone is connected to my stereo via the 3.5mm headphone jack. I use this to listen to music. On every other android phone i've had(beside the epic 4g), when i get a call, the music pauses, and when i press the button on my bluetooth, it answers the call, and my audio going out is picked up by the bluetooth, and the call audio coming in is heard through the bluetooth.
This phone for some reason tries to route audio through the 3.5 jack, even though the bluetooth answered the phone. worse yet, i can't find a way to switch it.
On the epic 4g this guy made an apk to hot fix the issue. Could someone port this by chance?

THanks!
I had sold my charge a while back, but just eneded up buying one again. Anyone made progress on this issue? Thanks!
Hey - it seems the fix near the end of that thread you referenced does the trick. Flash this in cwm recovery. It should work on any FP1 or EP4D (haven't checked others) ROM - stock or custom - but as I have no bluetooth stuffs I haven't tested this thoroughly to see if anything else happens as a result of the minor change. Hope this helps folks!
So I got my hands on a Samsung Focus and decided to give WP7 a shot. Much to my surprise, I can't put the phone down. I've gone so far as to pull the SIM from my Galaxy Nexus and started using the Focus as my daily driver.
However, as with anything I have a few gripes (which I hope have resolutions). Any help would be appreciated!
Streaming music is dodgy at best. I've used wpFandora, Metro Radio, and Zune Pass and with all of them I get constant drops, song skips due to buffering problems, etc. I don't have these problems on Android or iOS devices. So, is this inherent to WP7 or maybe just the Focus?
Is there any way to prevent screen time out in music apps? I use my phone while driving, and having to wake it and unlock it to change media is troublesome and dangerous.
Bluetooth. When paired to a BT headset, there's no ringtone played on the headset. If I'm listening to music and the phone rings, it mutes the music (but doesn't appear to PAUSE) and that's it. The only ring is from the phone itself, nothing over BT
Really, that's it for me. I really hope these are fixable and/or device specific because I'm salivating to pick up a Lumia 900 once its available!

Not sure I can help you with the first. I use T-Mobile, so my coverage is poorer than your but my network less saturated, and I almost never have trouple with streaming Zune Pass.
Press the Volume rocker once, either up or down, while at the lock screen. This will show the media controls, and allow you to pause or skip music (and change volume, of course). True apps can also disable the screen time-out (I don't think there's an option in the built-in player), though the effect on battery will be significant.
It takes the phone a second (literally, as in about 1000 ms) to sync to the headset when a call comes in. After that, the headset will either play the ringtone or text-to-speech the caller, depending on the headset and the settings on the phone. Also, on music playback that supports Pause (i.e. Zune Pass streaming, but not radio), the phone will pause music playback when a call arrives.
HTC HD7, build 7720 (quite out of date, by intention; your Focus should be on a newer version). It's possible the problems you are having are Focus specific. For example, there used to be a really bad bug where the Focus would vary the Bluetooth volume continuously while on a call, making it sometimes impossible to hear. I thought they fixed that though...
definately make sure that focus has all the updates installed (including firmware)
Also since you like streaming - check out tune in radio. it finds all the local stations around here and even tells you when shows are on like bob and tom.
Granted, if you have a headset plugged in you can also use the fm radio.
Streaming is normally not a problem at all. Might be the network towers you are on, but then other phones on att / verizon or whatever should have the same issue.
update all your focues firmware to get best experience out of it
Samsung Galaxy S7 32GB SM-G930V (Marshmallow) audio & microphone problems (brand new)
Just bought this devise to replace my iPhone 5s.
Out of the box and in the first call I made they couldn’t hear me… I said ok… “it’s new I have to set it up” so I start looking around the settings. Sometime later it stopped doing it so I finished setting it up, putted my favorite apps, transferred all my photos and contacts from my iPhone (hopefully I created a total iTunes backup before resetting to factory defaults).
The problem is:
a) When I make a call I can’t here (no sound at all from the other side) unless I put it on “speaker mode”. At the same time and with the speaker mode off when I press the “extra volume” button it popups "Unable to use extra volume range while earphones are connected"…WITHOUT having the earphones CONNECTED.
b) To test it I used Samsung Voice Recorder. When I open the application, a popup at the bottom is saying: "External microphone will be used to record audio" …WITHOUT having the earphones connected again.
And when I press the record button another popup appears "Recording with external audio"…WITHOUT having the earphones connected again.
c) when I connect the earphone jack I listen & record nicely
d) Sometimes popups a “The location fd://24 cannot be played
It’s like always for some reason believes that the earphone jack is connected. Rarely works ok for some seconds but it stops pretty soon…
I made a video with the problems. Sorry for the camera angles… I’m not a pro…

Anybody knows if it’s a software problem/bug that can be fixed or it’s hardware?
I don’t know… pretty disappointing, it’s too expensive to have this problems. Feels like I left macOS for windows 98 and loosing precious time again to google & fix, problems and i'm too old for this…
thanks in advance
Hello
This is my first post here. I just purchased Huawei P30 pro. It's brand new and I like it mostly. Third day of ownership and today I found out that my car handsfree is disgusting with my new phone. I got a "first " call today while paired and streaming YouTube music throu Bluetooth and the first surprise was that the car own ringtone was gone and my phone ringtone started suddenly playing throu car speakers when the call came in. It was horrible sound quality. Like someone recorded my ringing phone from 10 meters and playback it throu my car speakers. At the same time my phone screamed too. WTH. Okay, so I pressed the answer button and the call quality was so **** that I wasnt able to concentrate properly to the conversation. On top of that there was an echo with my voice that made things even more horrible. Why is that? Is the new phones Bluetooth version messing things up because my previous Huawei p9 with Bluetooth 4.2 performed like a dream. There was a preset nice ringtone from car system (that I can't even locate now with new phone) and crystal clear call quality. No echos and tin can effect. Is the newly purchased "previous flagship" really like that. Am I stuck with this horrible experience? Please help.

or its because of the guy that mounted it in the mean while, or its because of some Apps monitoring your android.
I have a set of Kirkland Signature 10 hearing aids. With my old LG G7 ThinQ I had it set up to send all sounds from the phone directly to the hearing aids (HAs), including calls, music, texts, voice mails, etc. For text messages (SMS), it would speak the name of the caller and then it would read the message aloud. It would also automatically switch over to playing music from the phone Bluetooth-ing it into my car stereo. When I leave the car, it would switch the sound back to the hearing aids
With the P7P things are not so good! It seems every day I have to go into sound settings and switch to the HAs. Then, it may stay switched, or it may go back to the phone speakers. I never know what it will do. Phone messages always go to the phone's speakers. Music stored in the phone may play over the car speakers, HAs, or phone speakers. I never know which it's going to be. The biggest issue is when I'm waiting for a doctor's appointment or similar and I put on a YouTube video, and it may be on speakers or HAs. It's sometimes a bit hard to tell, until I get annoying glances from those around me . Any thoughts on how to force the phone to stay set up to stream to the hearing aids?
