Updated gear manager - Samsung Gear S2

My gear manager updated today and now I can't read emails from Samsung email app on watch. Says security issue. Anyone else?

Someone in the general forum posted something about it. Apparently it is a Corporate Email Security Policy setting change.
I'd check there.

Using stock email app? Is you email on exchange?
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Yes to both questions. I have my own exchange account hosted by a third party. Apps4rent. There is a setting that your server is using to prevent reading. I can't read my work email which is on my company's server so I use Mailwise which has an exchange security bypass setting. I can at least read the headings for those email.

Looks like things are working in the new update.

New update came and call notification went out the door
I got a new Samsung gear manager app update Black Friday and my watch stopped notifying me of incoming calls. I get missed calls. I'm sick of [email protected]#$%^$#@@#!
I'm back to using my old note 4 because of the note 7 blow ups. Now no calls on my watch.
When you call samsung they can't help but they are aware of the problem.

Disable Email Security

Has anybody found a way to disable the email security with Microsoft Exchange on the Note 10.1? I tried installing Wanam xposed, but it wouldn't install. Really don't want to have a lock screen just because of my email.

Check out "enhanced email". Some mixed reviews but I like and will keep using it until my IT departments mobile iron implementation shuts me out.

Any client that uses Activesync will force you to accept your IT dept rules. Try Mobimail. This app uses Exchange Web Service which is not subject to the server restrictions. It is a phone style interface but it looks pretty respectable on a tablet. Only down side is it uses its own calendar so it won't integrate with Android calendar widgets. But it does its own calendar notifications so maybe not a big deal.

exchange email issue

Just recently got myself an N5 from an iP4s, all is going smoothly apart from exchange.
On the first sync after putting in all the log in details into the stock mail app for GoDaddy's server, it puts up a notification saying that it needs access to a lot of different things like PIN, auto delete, etc etc, if I decline, it won't sync, just wondered if this was normal, never had anything like on the iP4s, not that I'm saying thats a bad thing!
appreciate its not a N5 specific issue but anything help would be gratefully received
That's a normal issue, my work exchange email requires similar admin. privileges. I have to accept in order for it to sync.

Yep normal. Unlike iPhones, exchange admins can force PIN security on users. I like that

dual notifications.. getting annoying

out of nowhere, all my notifications are doubling on the watch. like I'll get a text, and i have textra, and it'll notify me like 2 to even 4 times of the same exact notification right in a row. it's so annoying. anyone else have this issue?

I do have that too, and the number of notifications seems to vary between 1 and 3...
ugh isn't it awful?! idk how the hell to fix it.
It's set by Samsung this way to show the first text you received. Sucks
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It also does that with Kik..

I don't get it though. I'll get only 1 text from someone, but get like 5 notifications for that 1 text.

An update was released yesterday and that seemed to fix the notifications. Well, I don't get the same Kik messages notifications anymore.

Advanced messaging working?

Title says it all. I have tried to use it with my brothers note 5 but it doesn't seem to work. WiFi calling and voLTE enabled on both phones.
Both phones have to have advanced messaging. It works between my and my wife with our note 5's
anyone else been trying to see if this works or not...
Lol still doesn't work between my brother and i. Both with note 5s. May be it's still "rolling" out to places, ie towers not updated yet
You have to go into contacts and open each contact that has the capability and the video calling and advanced messaging will flip to green. At least that has been my experience to get it to work for my contacts that have the option.

I tried that approach with my note 5, my wife has a galaxy s6. Advanced messaging was working for a bit, but then it stopped.

Mine works fine. I changed nothing, it was just working on day. I like it.
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
It works fine for me but sometimes like for a few hours a day it stops working and I have to manually toggle the ready report on/off to get it working again.

What is advance messaging

I thought it was weird that I could see my wife typing a message on my phone and it only worked for her.

Reply to Hangouts messages from S2 is broken again...

I've been able to reply to Hangouts messages with ease for months now....well up until like two days ago.
The biggest change is the i'm now on an S7 Edge instead of a Note 4.
Anyone else having problems now after going to the S7?
With my note 5 I had to install the android wear app. Didn't have to do anything except install it from the play store and hangouts started working
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
Thanks. That actually worked for me.

Thank you!
Thank you, I can confirm this now allows me to respond to messages on my AT&T Gear S2 Classic. I am using a note 4 and all I did was install the Android Wear app from the Play Store. I also noticed that the messages now come in on the S2 with background photos for the contact I am receiving them from.
