no source = no build.
it's that simple.
posting to CM forums will not help, they don't have the sources. Samsung does.

This has something to do with kernel source, the GT-I9300 does not have the same CPU nor source code....
Samsung needs to release the code before CM can make their build. Some have tried to make a build with what they had and lots of re-code.
But i think most of them just gave up because it was unstable.

I also support the cause
Also cm is availabe for s4 exynos so do yu think guys that samsung will make source code availabe after a while

That definitely won't. This isn't how CM works.

But the cyanogenmod 13 is available for the galaxy s7 edge (SM-G935F) how is it possible?

Not sure where you have seen this or heard about it.
If your talking about "http://www.xda-developers.com/first-booting-build-of-cyanogenmod-13-shown-off-on-exynos-based-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge/"
It's not even in Beta or Alpha. He only got it to boot, but that doesn't mean it works.
More here, where she/he says. It's just a boot up, sound works well

Question on CM

I am not much familiar with CM and I don't know much about it
I wanted to ask that is a CM made is for all the devices? For example if I download a cm for Samsung galaxy core, can I flash it in grand?
Just this. Thanks in advance
You cannot flash another devices rom, firmware, custom recovery or image to a device that isn't the device it was specifically made for. It will result in a brick.
So let me update you on info on how this all works.
CyanogenMod is an open source android project where a developer can obtain the contents of the source and compile this so called "firmware" to a specific device with required vendors, kernel properties and more.
So let's say there is a Samsung Galaxy S5 ROM, let's make it as if its CyanogenMod (CM) and if I flash it on my Nexus 5 it will not work. The recovery will most likely stop the firmware from being installed. This is because its another device and the N5 is not and s5.
So in other words if something is built for a specific device you cannot flash it on another device. Or it will probably get bricked.
So this means you cannot install CyanogenMod from the Galaxy Core on your Grand. It simply won't work.

Ohk, then for the devices which do not have a cm already made, I would have to wait. I have a tab 3(sm-t211) and there is no cm made yet
Either I have to make it(though I don't know how to) or wait for someone to make it
Hit Thanks if I helped sent from my SM-T211

Building from source is a good way to learn but its complicated, as you will need to set up a building environment. Simply Google, build CyanogenMod from source

Ok, let's do this.
Now we need to find a device similar to note 3 in architecture with Cm port already done. After that we should examine and compare the boot and recovery images of note 3 and said device for the requisites. S4 can be a pretty good base for the purpose. Remember, this step is crucial to get boot.
I'm busy for tomorrow. I will setup the environment day after tomm. and examine the images myself.

We would be needing a kernel developer. Try to find one. I did a rough port of S4's Cm11 but the device is bootlooping. That is expected as the kernel i'm using is stock one.

mmm. I see,will give a try later.
CPU-Z lists the J2 Prime (G532G variant) with a MT6737T board and a MT6735 hardware. Don't know whym
G532G also runs on Android Marshmallow, so a LOS 13 port might be better, but LOS 14 still has some features that might not be present on LOS 13.
Also: the device lacks "some" free storage (user space) and prevents a user to make a SD card as an adoptable storage (only in the OS itself. Using adb to convert sdcard to adoptable storage works fine)

Unfortunately I can't complete the material tomorrow with modified all files until ApkTool fixes all of its bugs because I can not edit any all files. I have tried multiple and when I rebuilt them, they didn't work.

Android Go Custom ROM for S II Plus?

Following the news of the Android Go release, I wondered if it would be possible for someone to port it to this old device:
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-go-news/
I think it would be awesome. Would it be possible or are we still missing something important?
The s2 plus community has died. I can do a port when it comes around, but without support i can't do anything.

What about miui8? Will it worth a try?
Android oreo (8.0) of s dous 2 is highly unstable (just booted that's all) . Any way, it will be good, if someone could upstream kernel of s2+ (unfortunately no active expert developers fr s2+ , who could easily fix the rejects during upstreaming (or upgradeing))

Yes true.
We can't force anyone to work on a rom. Its all up to them.
So lets hope for better
Also Upgradeing kernal to 3.4.xx or 3.10.xx from 3.0.101 is necessary for android go or miui 8.
If anyone of u guys have a knowledge or experinece about kernal porting (or kernal upgrade) , pls try to port a kernal (can take committs from s duos 2) to our device
A Bad Guy said:
No no no
I think you are wrong
3.0.101 is enough for both , but it will takes a lot of cherry pick commit to boot up oreo or go ( more than 100 commits i thought ) . 3.4 and 3.10 just make the way to oreo and go easier ( maybe less than 50 commits )
3.0.101 is also enough for miui 8 , but i think the way this phone dev's port it is completely WRONG , that's why it cant able to booted up

If u have enough knowledge about these stuff's (port &upgrade),why don't you try upgradeing or port
A Bad Guy said:
Be smart , I not good at cherry pick
About miui , i not sure it will have bugs fixed . Problem not caused by kernel , it is caused by libs
But if you wanna try , i give you suggest : unpack boot of both rom ( cm13 s2 plus , miui 8 trend plus ) replace zimage of cm 13 ( s2 plus ) with miui 8 ( trend plus ) , repack boot ( miui 8 ) , flash and let c if it will it boot .

In-case of s3, many changes are needed (I am not a good developer ).
Since community is dead, there is no use in porting any rom to these device. Even if I try that, I will not get any support from s2+ community to fix the bugs. (I know that ever since I tried to fix screenshot bug of nougat rom. Only I got support from ghsr & satcom886)
