Dear friends, I have attached external keyboard to my android mobile successfully, and I have to operate my android mobile by external keyboard only means without mouse.
Now there are two options one is to operate mobile through shortcut keys of keyboard like arrows key, tab etc. On this way I can select and open app but I can not select and click some buttons of app, this is a problem.
Now second options is that move cursor (pointer of mouse) directly by keyboard with the help of numerical keys of keyboard, this is possible in window OS by doing some change in control panel. But I don't know how to do in android OS.
Actually I am making a home security system and I require operate android mobile by keyboard only.
Please guide me , please, please.

Basically what I am looking is a browser or keyboard that allows you to have arrow keys that function like the arrow keys on a computer keyboard.
I use a particular website for work that uses the left and right arrow keys to get from one task to the other ( I think its a flash based module on the site) and I would love to access it from my phone, but I cant navigate due to the lack of arrow keys.
The issue is, there is no text field on that page, so the keyboard does not pop up, which is why Im thinking Im might need a browser thats able to "bind" keys, per se....
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much!
Im curently using a half size bluetooth keyboard paired to my phone (nexus 4) which is running RemoteDroid. That is used to forward keystrokes to my PC. Why? because I have a broken collarbone and cant use my fullsize wired keyboard properly So im using my phone as an intermediate device (BluetoothK/B->Phone->WiFi->PC) to be able to use the bluetooth keyboard. Putting the phone in close proximity to the K/B means It has a much better range and signal quality via WiFi. The phone itself also has a better bluetoooth receiver than any laptop or desktop USB bluetooth receivers ive tried, giving much more reliable keystrokes at higher typing speed than gong straight to PC
The problem is some of the keys dont work correctly and I believe its because Android is interpreting them differently. i.e. 'Tab/Delete/Insert/Home/End/num +/ num -.. etc' dont get forwarded to the PC,And some keystrokes are simply incorrect` i.e. the right shift key acts more like CTRL for some things. Shift+2 becomes " instead of @ (need to press alt 2 instead) and so on
In addition I have a touchpad on the little keyboard and that only works in a limitted fashion
Is there an app out there that can 'grab' the Android inputs of a device and remap them? so i.e. mouse click could be emulated as pressing the Enter key if I so wished
Additionally` is there a progam that can forward these 'raw inputs' to a PC via USB/WiFi/Bluetooth? remotedroid does indeed forward some inputs of key presses as best it can (arrow keys for instance) but it seems to do it 'after' the android OS (i.e. alt+tab makes the android program switch applications, rather than forwarding the 'alt' and 'tab' keys to the PC)
It does not however forward mouse inputs (havnt tried gamepad) so its not possible to use a mouse or trackpad as intended. I have to emulate a screen press (hold left click on trackpad and move the cursor across the remotedroid screen)
Hope the above makes sense, and yes im aware I could simply bluetooth directly to the PC but wheres the fun in that?
Hello,
I have found that when I remote desktop to my Windows PC, that when i mean to type the following on the android keyboard I get the following symbol on the PC
(the character I want [what's on the Windows keyboard]) = (the key i type on the Android Keyboard)
'=#
@=~
#=\
~=|
\=+
|=+
for example with the first one
I press what looks like the ' key on my android key board and a # key is displayed on my screen
How can I go about fixing these? It works for all the other keys I have tested
The android keyboard has the same labels/layout-ish as the keyboard I use on my PC ( " above the 2) so they are both UK (i think)
Also within Android Apps, pressing those keys produces the desired character/symbol
I would really appreciate your help, it's not a vitally awful be all and end all disaster, but a bit annoying
Cheers,

I recently bought a lenovo s580 phone. It has android 4.2.2 installed. I was able to pair an apple bluetooth keyboard with the phone and the keyboard is working fine. But there are several keys not working.
I found out that the phone has TouchPanel Gesture. I have never seen this feature before. This feature has an alphabet gesture in it. There are several keys in alphabet gesture including: o,w,m,e,c,s,v,z, left, right, up, down. These keys when pressed from bluetooth keyboard, it flashes a window saying Invalid Application: Application not set.
Basically this flash window keep on poping up and won't allow normal typing on bluetooth keyboard.
I tried to delete tpgesture app from system app list, it removed the window messaging, but the keys are still not working.
I've been trying to tackle this problem for a week now and could not find any other post about this issue.
Can any one help me solve this issue?
By the way, the touchpanel gesture otherwise works fine, I can assign any app to 's' key and pressing physical s key will launch the app. But this effectively makes the physical keyboard completely useless. I really want this feature be entirely gone so I can type normally.
How can I make the enter key send enter instead of the currently selected key on the on screen keyboard, preferably without rooting the device? I know I can change the keymap file if I root the device but I don't know how to root it and would rather avoid rooting it if I can. Also how do I stop the on screen keyboard appearing? I've turned it off in the physical keyboard settings section but it still appears.
Download External Keyboard Pro and install it. That can remap your keyboard for you. It may give you the option to remove the on-screen keyboard
