Can anyone please try if https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=troop.com.freedcam&hl=en works on the XZ for dng raw support? (this is using a Qualcomm api, not camera api2.0)
Nope, with 3 choice for camera API, only "camera1" can choosed and working, no DNG, no much function...

In Freedcam goto Menu > Scroll Down to Save Camera Parameters attach the output file found at /DCIM/FreedCam/
It will dump capabilities

on Z3 Compact I'm getting:
picture-format-values=jpeg
picture-format=jpeg.
So I'm guessing it doesn't matter that it's using Qualcomm api instead of camera 2.0..
edit: I'm on 4.4.4 but I don't think that matters either (since we're not talking about the Qualcomm api

On z3c you need aosp ROM with oss hal it should work

If anyone has the above setup and is willing to do a simple test, I would do anything to get RAW on the Z3c. I'm leaving SONY with great sadness on January, only for the lack of RAW support on photos.

Can anyone upload the camera apk from the XZ ?
Since the XZ have full manual camera API2 support, i want to try if the APK works with my Xperia Z3+

Thanks for the response but now my objective is to repair my phone, this idiot have the USB port broken I think :/
I need the stock camera UI apk from the android 7.0 Nougat update of the Xperia X Performance
There supposed to be full manual camera controls implementation and complete camera2 API support.
I want to port that to other xperia devices.
It will be great if anyone could upload the full system dump after receiving the OTA update for 7.0 N on their Xperia X Performance.
Please help !!

It does not and the shutter speed just deactivates the manual iso.
The new camera ain't worth anything

download and install X Plore file manager from play store
open it, go to configuration and there in root-access panel select normal
then go to root (you should be able to see root items ) go to the system\priv-apps\semccameraui\
try to copy the APK from there to your sd card
let me know how it goes !!

Of course there is parsing error.
I am looking into the codes after decomoiling it . so far no new useful piece of codes whatsoever .
maybe all the change has been made to the HAL or something , maybe they just changed the build SDK to 24 and released the old APK as it was
Funny that I don't get likes for actually extracting the file...
And of course it has errors..it is made for Android 7.

Camera2API support is(some of it) coded in the kernel and you need kernel mods to implement this function

not quite ,
cant shoot 23 mp pics with manual shutter speed with any camera app. (probably HAL related issue)
default camera app still doesnt have manual shutter speed :/
these are quite reasons enough for me :/

And the manual shutter speed does not work...it is crap.
It just adjusts the iso..and you can't use both at the same time.
Quality of pictures are not better.

I loved the possibility to capture dng (raw files) of the camera of my opo, and as far as i know the only rom capable of deliver readable dng's is the official one.
Is there any other rom capable of doing that?, capture RAW files in the camera?

Use Bacon Camera from playstore....
You could use jgcaaps cm13 with coloros Camera, I think it is capable of taking RAW Images

I've used this, but the colors are not right in the DNG's, there are barely usables.

It's not capable, the dng's files are corrupted after taking the shoot.

as far as i know is not suported in sultans roms. gonna recheck tho.
Last day install miui rom on my mi a2 lite phone.When i open camera manual settings its show me 32 second stutter time.its actually allows me.But No one try to enable this function on redmi note 6 pro. Please help guys

It became oversaturated with green level. I dont have it anymore.
Hello, last time i friend has shown his mi 10 to me and i launched his stock camera app.
i saw that there is a manual video mode when switching to "pro" mode.
I could set the white balance, the exposure, the ISO and the focus when taking video. It was awesome. I could lock the exposure while autofocus was working and videos looked much more precessional without the annoying automatic brightness changes when recording a scene.
Even a log profile could be selected.
I ask my self if the stock camera app of the mi 10 could be ported to note 10( tranfer and modify the apk)
Any ideas? I don't think xiaomi want to give this feature to us..

Hi, in the "pro" tab of the mi 10 camera app there is a button right to the shoot button which let you toggle between video and photo. I cannot see this in your screenshot.

Hello Roman i only have a little issue with manual video in pro mode:
I cant set the manual white balance (Kelvin value)
The only workaround is switching to photo mode, selecting the Kelvin value and then switching back zu Video mode. I hope this can fixed on future..

I was able to donload the mod, but when I tried to go to the settings inside the camera, the camera would close. Then I saw that in the link you put, the solution also comes in case the app is not renamed well or it closed when trying to start it.
The solution is: delete the / data / system / package_cache / folder and restart the phone.
Miui12_Camera (Noise) .zip file adds option ZERO_SHUTTER_LAG is intended to be used by applications that keep a continuous circular buffer of high resolution images during preview and reprocess the images in that buffer into a final capture when activated by the user.
