So I've been running CM13 by Sultan for the past few months and I've noticed a few apps are behaving weirdly. I'm not sure if these apps are having bugs with 6.0 or CM13. I did not have these bugs back on 5.1 / CM12.1.
If I use the NX Bus app (local buses app), when I click on the map button, the app crashes and force closes. This means I cannot look at stops or bus times.
Also, bejeweled blitz crashes if I do a 'free retry' by watching an advert and then returning to the challenge mode, the game doesn't load the challenge correctly, sometimes the score is not visible and special gems do not appear.
The Three UK app also doesn't not refresh my allowances when I refresh them, it just seems to time out and not receive the updated balances.
The Facebook app causes a persistent notification about not being connected to a cast, and doesn't let me remove the notification or close the casting notification. (there is an x in the notification but it does not close it) (it also does nothing when I tap on it)
The XDA app also can sometimes take a very long time to connect to the server and times out.
Its like some apps are not linking correctly or something. The Facebook one is weird, I cannot see any setting within the app to switch off the casting mode.
Should I try a different version of android?
These issues aren't particularly bad but noticeable and annoying.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks

Hi all,
I recently installed the 5.1 GPE ROM and noticed that apps close unexpected, usually when they are in the background but sometimes when I am still using them. For example, the most annoying thing that happens it that I will be using the Facebook chat heads and suddenly either the overlay will close or the entire Messenger app will close. If I try to open it again from the app switcher, a dialogue saying "Unable to open Messenger" will pop up and I have to launch it again from the home screen. I also have an IRC app that I usually leave running in the background. After anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour, the app will close and the icon will disappear from the notification bar. The two given examples usually happen at the same time; it's almost like having an overzealous app killer.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Whenever I receive a text or Google hangouts message, I normally pull down the notification Menu and tap the message to take me to the chat (within Google hangouts app). I've noticed when accessing a message from the notification panel, there is very long lag/delay until the actually message opens up. Anyone know what might be causing this ?

I've noticed this too, it was also happening to me on the s6 edge.
Its the way that Samsung has its memory management set up. It basically closes the app and when you relaunch it, it has to start up fresh. Same thing happens if you start up an app normally, hit the home button and try going back into the app. Especially if its a larger app like a game. The phone closes it out to keep the system memory free. If you are rooted, try this, will probably fix the issue for you guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/development/arter97-kernel-galaxy-note-5-t3189907

With hardware like this I'm shocked that it has this issue. My nexus 5 blazes through app switching and notifications with no lag, maybe a software patch will come in the future.

I totally agree. My Nexus 6 had no issues either.
This is actually caused by the 5 second delay built into Android. Basically, there's a 5 second window after pressing Home (from another app) that the system won't launch/open an activity (opening Hangouts after pressing Home and then tapping a notification from the drawer). It goes as far back as 1.6: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4536
Here's an Xposed module to prevent the 5 second delay: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/stopswitchdelay-remove-5s-delay-to-apps-t2688574
Here's a stackoverflow thread with possibly useful information: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-after-home-button-pressed-without-the-5-seco

Hi guys. Everything is great with my v20. The problem is that there are certain apps or games which I use, although fully updated which stop responding after a few hours. There is this one game which I usually leave open to farm on its own on auto. Eventually it stops responding to touches on the screen even if the sprites on the app itself keep moving. It comes up with a notification prompt to close the app, wait for the game to respond, or send feedback I have to reboot the phone to get it to work. Anyone else experiencing this kind of behavior and how did you remedy it. I already tried turning off power saving mode and the game optimizer to no avail.

Nothing can be done, you just have to wait for the app to update, although two apps I use xe.com and tsum tsum is having problem it's still usable.
It's a android 7 thing, so it's a waiting game.:fingers-crossed:
Most likely the Android 7 being the culprit, just watch for updates it would seem that there are some changes under the hood that are causing compatibility problems.

Yep. Probably nougat issue or memory leak problem. I'm leaning towards nougat. Luckily I've rarely had the problem.
Thanks guys. I kinda figured out it was a nougat problem since it's not consistent with all apps and just 2 apps in specific.

OnePlus One running Android 5.1.1. This evening I noticed the attached message in my notification shade. There is no "NPO" app visibly installed on the phone and I have no knowledge of a "Chromecast-Matthieu" in my vicinity. If I try to cast through an app I am familiar with (Youtube, Pocket Casts) I do not see that device. If I try to pause the cast or close the notification, it restarts and/or reopens within a few seconds. I can turn the WiFi off and it goes away, but turning WiFi on again it reappears. I have rebooted the phone. The apps that got updated recently seem to be trustworthy. I do not have a Google Home device. I guess that is a renamed Google Cast app (?). I uninstalled that and it had no effect.
How freaked out should I be about this? What can I do to fix it? Can cast device names be hidden like SSIDs?
Thanks,
David
Hi,
I was a big user of popup window in MM and recently I upgraded to nougat to see that it was changed a lot.
Some changes don't bother me, but one broke almost all my use. Before, when I played some game or had an app working I could open one popup app and the app in background (but open) would still working like it were in the front. Now it seems that when I focus on the popup everything in background app is stopped. Any loading in game stops, facebook stops video, etc.
Is there any way I can use the app in popup with full multitasking like it was in MM? It's not just a popup issue.. the same thing happens with split screen.
