best ROM? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, I just bought the 16 GB version of this phone at Walmart for $85! I already rooted it and flashed twrp on it. What is the best, and fastest, and stable ROM for this phone?

'Best' is a word whose definition can change with a person's perspective. It is influenced by the usage pattern (from reading a book to gaming) of the user, and his needs. Most of the ROMs out there are stable, you can refer the ROM threads for their status - 'aplha', 'beta' or 'stable'.
For starters, You can use CM or AOSP based ROMs like AOSP-OMS/Zephyr/Turbo and similar ROMs. For a feature rich experience along with customisability, opt for RR or AICP.
Generally, a clean ROM will tend to be faster, try Slim or similar.

Thanks for the reply, best was probably not the best word lol, I'm looking for something fast and clean, I play a few games and social media. Idk if 7.0 nougat or 6.0 marshmallow would be better?

Marshmallow, Nougat is not ready for DD use yet... To be honest, the cleanest, fastest ROM is probably stock, but if you really want custom then Exodus, ZephyrOS, and Tesla would be top choices.
So as you can see from the two answers you have gotten, that there is a ton of difference in opinion... There is no "best" ROM, in fact, best ROM threads are very much frowned upon here in general.
Your best bet is to go to the development forums, look for the ROMs threads with the most replies or recent activity, download and flash them and play with them and pick the one that suits *YOU* the best.

For me best is cm 12.1. cm 13 or 14 is still beta. When you dont need modified rom the best choice is stock.

I'm using AOSP extended Nougat as daily driver. Very stable and boots in seconds. Just my experience. May not work for all.
As far as MM ROM. Oct-OS community edition is rock solid. Turbo a very close second.

For me the best is cm 13 snapshot. Its very stable, battery is ok - no drain, everything works fine. Cm14 is very fast but battery drain as fast as rom works so for me it broke up.

Hearing no others...
I wasn't going to answer this one, because it is akin to "which is the better ROM?" which is very subjective. My answer is try them out for yourself.
Expect an amount of lag anyway because you are trying to load a firmware version (Kitkat) that wasn't made for this device (single core CPU, 512MB RAM).
I did a similar walkabout a while back to see which one is the most reliable. My sig will tell you which one I ended up with (phone has since been sold).

[Q] Most stable Lollipop ROM?

I'm currently on the XT1034, still on stock KitKat. I've been itching to go to Lollipop but it's hard sorting through all these ROMs and their features. Sure, I love the features, but what I care about most is: is it as stable as stock? So in all of your guys opinion, what's the most stable Lollipop ROM - least crashes and bugs, smooth, and good battery life.
I've moved this thread from the development section to the Q&A section.
Development sections are for posting work... Roms, kernels, mods, etc.... Not for posting questions or anything else that is not actual Development.
Thanks!

The most stable is the the 5.0.2 version of the ROM that shall not be named. (You can find it in "getting ready for otas thread ") pure stock in 2 versions.

Best ROM for D6603 (UB)???

Hy guys, i recently unlocked my Bootloader and tried new Lineage Os 14.1. Its awesome but there are few bugs i cant live with, so im searching for best stable rom for unlocked bootloader untill they make stable 14.1.
Can someone recommend any good rom? Also shoud I restore drm functions after flashing or not? Thank you for your time
@nailyk 's LineageOS is the most stable 14.1 rom that I have seen in our xperia z3 forum. If you want 14.1 rom use develop. prev. or use lineage os.

You know that Dev Preview Rom's aren't even Android 7.0 (proper one)?
They are actually Android N and most of modifications for 7.0/7.1 won't work on those.
So keep that in mind.
@mancycro I'm curious though, what type of bugs you encountered, which kept you from using LOS 14.1?
Well rom will be amazing after getting stable release. Worst thing is slow charging, 4 percent per 20.. Wifi doesnt autoconnect to network, and latest bug i experienced : phone reboots during night, probably due to overcharging. Otherwise its great. 60k on antutu

Ok, then we have a different idea of bugs, we can't live with
Besides the autoconnect bug, the overcharging is handled by an app for me (we'll see if reboots are gone),
and the slow charging gets better with time for me.
Hope they fix those bugs so you can enjoy it as well

Yes and it's quite similar to stock actually. Best camera quality I've seen so far for custom ROMs on the Z3
Omnirom has official weekly for z3 d6603! Android 7.1.2! I have not infomations for this last build!
Anyone??

What Stock-based ROM are you still using (2018)?

Just got a spare Z3, and since this device has been quite inactive on developments and such, the most preferred route is to stay stock for stability.
Now, I looked on our Android Development section and there seems to have a couple of stock-based ROMs which are good, and now, even in 2018, I was wondering what stock-based ROMs you guys are still using?
Any bias comments are welcome as long as it's spoken through experience. Also, a combination of Stock-based ROM a Custom Kernel would be nice to hear as well, if you use those.
Thanks guys for noticing~

Ever heard of OFFICIALLY supported
I use carbon Rom. It's supported officially.
And TWRP 3.2.1.0
Use gapps or mindthegapps

Any ways to use cyberian camera on carbon oreo? Right now im using existenz on my z3c, everything is ok and it has tones of customizations i can recommend for z3 too. But the best rom for battery is still slimm rom. Whatever lets turn back to my question, only because it is not possible use cyberian cam on carbon oreo i will go for carbon nougat with xperia ui. Can you share your experience with snapdragon camera if you use oreo version?
i have djust used the default camera app that came preinstalled with the rom. as 3rd party apps arent as good as stock. And its really good enough.
and i dont like to use outdated roms still on 6.0 M
im a crazy chronic updater.

search in the Carbon or Omni Thread, someone posted magisk Modules for this
There should also be a guide in there for (regular) flashing this.

Choosing the right rom

Hey guys, i hope it's okay to write the question here.
So basically in a couple of days my 360h period ends and i can finally unlock the bootloader and root the phone.
My problem is, its been a while since i used something else as lineageos, and to make it even harder the note 6 pro has this notch (which seems to be a problem for some roms?)
So my question is quiet simple... which rom should i use for best performance and no notch issues?
should i stay with a MIUI rom and try to debloat the stuff like the "whatsapp cleaner"? (i never used Whatsapp for example), just install lineage os (and hope there is no notch issue) or should i go for a project treble rom, where my biggest issue is: what exactly is the huge difference between the usual roms and a project treble rom?
Each rom (official or not) has pros and cons, and each user has individual taste so....
I tried official and beta from MIUI, official and beta from xiaomi.eu, lineageOS 15, Pixel Experience, Havoc OS v2.1 and SuperiorOS
For now I'm using Bootleggers. I like it, but maybe you won't....

Can u plz suggest me best ROM for battery back up for my note 6 pro(tulip) thanks in advance
I tried AEX, crDroid and RR.
AEX is by far the worst. Display doesn't look good and device is slow.
RR has some issues, specially with the notch, battery and performance. Apps freeze a lot.
crDroid is the best. Great performance, great battery life and good notch compatibility.

according to me eu roms for note 6 pro have the best battery backup, they dont come with all the useless gapps like google play book etc so i suggest give eu roms a try. moreover remember customization and battery backup are inversely proportional.
hit thanks :good:

is CrDroid still the best custom rom for n6p? How about SOT, overall performance,... on CrDroid and other roms? Is it worth to switch from stock miui 10 to any of these custom roms? On miui i've 1-2 days of usage at 6-7h SOT....
At the moment, there are a couple choices in terms of roms. At this point there is not really a "perfect" or amazing rom available for this device just yet. I have been testing the "official" and "unofficial" roms and they are decent but they have a long way to go until I would consider using them on a day to day basis. A lot of them have bugs which is a given, considering how relatively new this device is. It would be great to see official support for roms such as Paranoid Android, Lineage OS and Resurrection Remix. But this will take time like everything. If we look at the recovery side of things, we are still trying to get an official recovery which will be essential. From what I have seen TWRP by ATG Droid is probably the 'closest' recovery we have to something the same stability and features seen from an "official" recovery. Take what I have said with a grain of salt, pretty much all of this is opinionated if you did not get the memo.
