hello all,i have a little problem with the recovery of my data from a nexus 5 (lg d820) i used the phone almost for two years the phone without any problem ,until a few months ago, when i decided to put aside the nexus (the lcd was cracked in some parts :crying: and the battery begins to show little problems) anyway, i bought a new phone and in the meantime i decided to buy a new screen for fix the old phone and sell it.
Now,before sell it,i would like to recovery my old stuff on it like some contacts and photos, because, unfortunately ,when i changed my phone i forget about that.
The problem,is in conclusion , that i totally forgot my pattern and now i can't unlock the phone, and i can't connect it directly to wifi, because i don't know the pattern anymore and i can't neither put my card back in ,because the new phone have a nano, i tried some hard solution like adb,but i can't access the phone because show me the device as locked when i wirte the command adb devices or shell, also if the debug is on and when i put the phone on my computer a pop up say: debug usb connected
please anyone know how ,at least, recovery my contacts and photos, if possible, thank you in advance, awesome forum

Hello guys,
i hope you can help me with my problem. (also my english is pretty broken :/)
Little Background:
I crushed my screen but the lcd did still work. Another time my phone fell a 2nd time to the ground
resulting the cable for the touch sensor beeing ruptured. To repair my phone i ordered a new lcd,
but when i tried to connect the new lcd to the motherboard i dont know how but i broke the other plug responsible
for the things i see on the display.
In the end i can't navigate the phone anymore without seeing anything what i would do, so i don't care for the phone anymore but does anyone know how i can safe my storage?
I guess i can still boot the phone normally aswell as access recovery.
My phone is rooted, s-off and with the carbon rom 4.3.
Would be glad about any help, since i cant get htc support cause i lost the sticker with my imei number aswell threw the package away.
Sincerely,
Masern
So I flashed Lollipop on my Nexus 4, the minute the images came out. It worked out fine.
And today one of my friends helped me break my phone. The screen is gone. Touch is unresponsive. Wifi is not enabled on the phone. Now the phone is 2 years old and I am probably going to buy the Nexus 6 now. But the problem is that I need some of the data from my phone.
I cannot unlock my phone because the touch is gone. I tried pulling out the data using adb but the device turned out to be unauthorized. The only way to authorize it back again is to use the developer's options in the phone which I obviously cannot access. So my last option remaining is to get my touch screen fixed. Is there any other way in which I can all my data without paying $100 for the screen? OTG mouse looked like a good option but then again, the device is unauthorized, so I cannot root it.
Thanks in advance!

Hi
Last week I had the problem with my Nexus 5 constantly rebooting on the "Google" logo.
I tried to find a way repairing the phone as I need the data I have on it. But I bought the phone on the Play Store and the LG warranty has ended because I had this phone since it came out.
So, I called Google and now a refurbished Nexus 5 is on it's way, and I have to send them back my phone that doesn't works. Now I need your help please, I want to know how can I recover the data on my older phone (I need to perform a nandroid, but the phone would last only 1 second inside the bootloader).
I thought swapping motherboards could work, but there's many things:
1- Am I going to have any problems with the IMEI ?
2- Does a Nexus 5 without it's adhesive in the inside at the bottom means "warranty void" to them ?
3- It is better to swap motherboards and make a nandroid then putting back my motherboard on the broken phone or just swapping motherboards and keeping my motherboard in the new phone ?
Thank you for helping me. Don't hesitate to answer me more information if you need or if my english is too bad.
As soon as you open the phone warranty is void. You most likely have a stuck power button on the problem phone. Try mashing the crap out of it for a minute or two. If you can get it unstuck your problem is solved.
Thanks for answering
I already tried to hit the power button for a long time, then hard enough to try unstucking it. I even broke the thin piece of plastic below the sim tray. But I did this before I realized the phone wouldn't try to start at all if it wasn't connected to the AC adapter. Then I saw a post from someone on reddit having the exact same issue, who replaced a defective part (he called this an integrated circuit) and has his phone working now.

I know this thread is a little aged, however I am starting to have similar issues and I also had the Nexus 5 since launch. How did you get a replacement out of warranty?
Hello XDA,
It's been awhile since I've made a post, but I'm very unsure about what I'm trying to do.
I have a T-Mobile HTC One S, about 4 years old, that has a damaged display, but I am trying to do a backup to pull out photos and whatnot that I had on the phone before I broke it.
My question is, is there a way for me to do a backup of the whole Android OS and whatever file there is on the phone to emulate it on my Windows PC?
Now for what I've done so far with a bit of back story. The phone broke about 4 years ago when I dropped it and damaged the display and I never got around to fixing it or trying to do a blind backup through the recovery until a few days ago.
I had a friend replace the screen and the phone booted up, except it was soft bricked and was stuck at the splash screen. I was able to get into the recovery and tried to mount the phone to my computer, but it wouldn't let me and I've forgotten what the error message was.
My problem now, is that I've dropped the phone again and the display is broken yet again, but I was curious if I could extract every single file out of the phone and use an emulator so that I can try and get back into it.
Thank you
I've reposted this thread into the Android forums please close. Thank you
Hi, I'm new to the forum and to mobile operating system troubleshooting in general. I'm hoping to gain some insight into an issue I'm having.
I broke the screen on my mi mix 3 and after waiting for 2 months it finally arrived from Shenzhen. Yesterday I disassembled the phone, connected the new screen, turned it on, and it just went into a bootloop. I've never changed any part of the operating system on the phone before so I just assumed something was making a poor connection. I unplugged all the leads and plugged them back in again, checked that everything was firmly in place, and ended with the same result.
Fastboot will run sometimes for 10+ minutes and then the phone will just shut off, normal booting it will switch from "Mi" to "MIX" and the animation at the bottom of the screen will freeze after a couple clicks and it will loop back to restarting (but twice it has just ended with an all white screen). Rebooting from Mi Recovery mode results in the same.
From what I've seen I'll just need to follow this and flash the phone : https ://c.mi .com/thread-2504118-1-1.html?t=1590725045909
But my question, is there any possible way to try to fix this issue without loosing all my data and without using a back door method that may just brick the phone?
Thanks for any help, btw I still have the back glass off (I've tried with the fingerprint scanner plugged in, nothing) just in case it could somehow be a hardware issue.
So I've given up on trying to save my data, I don't really care much about that to be honest. I just really like this phone and would like to use it. I tried to flash the phone using Miui's official instructions but I can't unlock the bootloader because I can't download the app Miui's flash tool is requiring me to download on the phone to authorize it.
I guess I'll keep looking for a work around.

I changed my display too and it's bootlooping. Did you solve this problem?
I changed my Display too...everything worked fine when I tested it. I unplugged it again to clean the phone and to bring on the glue..when I had the Screen on I restarted and had a black screen...so tried to remove the screen which then just broke...so I ordered a new one and a new display flex cable - I didn't glue the screen yet because I either experience black screens when the screen gets pushed against the backplate or the phone ends in a bootloop -> for the bootloop thingy I just waited for about 10 minutes and then it started normally so there must be something with replacement screens...I don't know whats going on -.-
Hi
Has anyone managed to get this fixed?
The screen works initially but after a while it goes blank, reboot I get the Mix logo not mix 5G. The replacement is a LCD.
Looks like it is stuck in bootloop as inserting sim does phone does not ring when I call it nor front face camera clunk when I slide it
