I recently got a notification for a software update. Anybody know what it's all about?
It installs a new NSA spyware app that allows the govt. to intercept all of your calls, SMS, and data. Oh wait, that was already in there. It fixed a bug in the Pixel where the "flashlight" toggle wouldn't work.

Hi all,
I wondered if anyone is using Hullomail and having problems with the alerts? For some reason the app isn't giving me any kind of alert when I receive a new voicemail (visual or sound). I am presuming (as I do not get a lot of voicemail) that over time the memory manager is closing the app and as such do not get the alerts (or possibly the app not restarting automatically after a phone reboot). Would this sound about right?
Is there any fix for it other than to get alerts sent to email (I already do this but would definately be nice to get the alerts to flash up on the phone.
If there is no fix is there another visual voicemail available in the UK with a more reliable notification system. I need to know when I am receiving voicemail without having to log-in to the system to check.
Cheers,
Michael
I use it, i just have the alerts sent to email since that plus the missed call alert normally tells me what I need to know.
I would like to see a HulloMail Counter widget though, like the email/messaging ones with the numbers overlaid on the top. That would be useful.
Have you tried emailing HulloMail support? I messed up my account and had a really good experience - they got straight back to me to tell me they were looking into it (proper human reply), and then again when it was sorted, late on Christmas Eve!
I am almost positive a better solution would be Google Voice. Transposed VM to email or use the Google Voice App. Much better integration and zero problems.
I don't seem to get any sort of notification for voicemails except from visual voicemail, which doesn't work unless I'm data or wi-fi connected.
Is there any way of fixing this?
Running ICBINB.
Any idea why this might be happening and how to fix it?

uninstall visual voicemail
Nvm a bloke on the T-Mobile forums was kind enough to answer this question for me.
Seems like you just have to clear the data and cache from the visual voicemail app and you'll start getting normal notifications without data or wifi again. Oddly though if you uninstall the visual voicemail app you won't get any notifications at all.
ahhh thk you man. I was punching myself as i couldn't figure out why i wasn't getting any notifications of voicemails. I flashed a rom that didn't have the visual voicemail installed. Installing it now, and hopefully it fixes this issue!
I know this is old but I can confirm that not having Visual Voicemail was the culprit in my case of the voicemail alert not showing up on my phone. I have titanium backup installed and decided I'd uninstall non-useful/used apps that came stock with the phone. Of course, I didn't realize at the time this was the reason why my voicemail icon no longer appeared and I had 15 voicemails waiting for me :O. Anyway, good catch Yangorang.
sounds on voicemail

Gmail, hit menu > more > settings > your account name > labels to notify > setup each label you want to change the notification for.
If you're using t-mobile voicemail you cannot change the sound. I dunno if you can if you're using visual voicemail.
I use Google Voice for voicemail, and that app, I can change the notification sound for.
So, I’ve been on the T-Mobile $30 prepaid plan for a while and, to keep my number of minutes in check, I forward all calls to voicemail. This works well, but ever since upgrading to Lollipop I now have a constant annoying Call forwarding notification on my lock screen and I can’t get rid of it. Lollipop allows you to Block most app notifications, but this option does not appear to be available for Call forwarding (yes, I’ve tried blocking Google Dialer to no avail). Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know of a fix or workaround? Suggestions welcome—I also wonder how others with this plan control their minute usage (yes, I also use VoIP and Hangouts).
Cheers.
Has anyone found a solution for this issue? I am having the same problem as BinkXDA. The "Phone" app doesn't allow you to uncheck notications. Whereas almost every other app does. What gives?
Thanks!
Hi, I can't get any notification from Phone SMS (Messages) apps on my Huawey Watch 2 LTE, I tried to reset all settings but no way. Can you help me out?
Did you install the "messengers" app in your watch? Not the facebook one.
Hello, do you mean messaging from Google? It's already installed. I don't see any Messengers app for Wear. Can you send me the link?
I also do not get any notification from calls on the phone, do you know why?
Are you sure right connected via android wear app with your smartphone and pairing went well to your watch? If you get zero notifications it´s a connection issue between the devices. If all correct try to clear the data / caches of your notificated apps on your watch or reset the pairing on your smartphone and pair it again.
I do get all notifications but phone calls and SMSs, what should I do?
Go to your play store in your watch, scroll down and see if there is an messagers app allow you to install in watch.
The app "Feel the Wear" will allows you to do what you are after
Hello AstroDigital, thank you for the tip, the app Feel the Wear solved the issue on the sound side, I get now the vibrations for calls and SMS but still no visual notification on the smartphone, do you know how I could also get the visual feedback?
Hi all,
I have a xiaomi redmi note 11 pro plus 5g, with the latest global rom (13.0.3.0 SKTMIXM, android 12) <-- update: just found it's the mediatek version (thank you xiaomi for calling different mobiles in the same way), so sorry to having written in the "wrong section of the forum", however I think the issue is in the google app itself.
Bootloader was not unlocked.
I'm having an issue with filter spam calls in the google phone (dialer) app.
As you may know, in the google phone app settings -> Caller ID and spam, you have:
1. See caller and spam ID
2. Filter spam calls
I have both enabled.
After the app upgraded from playstore, it seems the filter is not working anymore, meaning that spam calls are advertized as "spam" when my mobile rings (yes, the mobile rings), i.e. the calls are not automatically rejected and saved in calls history: it's like that only the first toggle (See caller and spam ID) is enabled.
The google phone app (com.google.android.dialer) version is 92.0.484272277.
The filter was working well on this phone with older versions, I think 2 versions older.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
PS: I already tried to clean app data, but the result is the same
Try downgrading to older versions from August, it'll work. I had the same issue and this worked for me.
Thank you for your reply, that was what I did yesterday, now waiting for spam calls to see if it works.
For what it's worth I opened an issue in the google phone app community, the issue was escalated and they are saying they are looking into it; I also sent a logcat log to a gmail address they opened on purpose.
It's definitely a bug in the app.
I got a few spam calls a few days ago by the way, I can confirm it totally works!
