As someone who types both in French and in English, I suggest you add English to your keyboard because it autocorrected to a real mess.

I use my Asus Eee Pad Transformer + Keyboard Dock with Brazilian Portuguese as default language.
The main problem is that Asus Keyboard Dock recognizes the language and sets the keyboard layout to ABNT2 (Brazilian Pattern - attached) and because of that I have no |\ key (that is used for }] key) nor ?/ key (that is used for :; key).
I've changed my keyboard layout to Asus US English but I completely lost all accentuations. Anyone with the same problem... and a solution?
Regards.
And after update to 3.1...
And after update to Honeycomb 3.1... still have this keyboard layout REALLY annoying problem.
Any solutions?

I am from Florianopolis too and got the same problem, thinking of returning it while I'm still in Canada. The best thing until now was get the thumb keyboard where I can set some special characters as "cedilha " if you find some solution let me know please? Valeu
Almost ok
Got an almost solution: I changed the keyboard layout for ASUS Spanish keyboard, everything works as US international BUT the "cedilha... Maybe is a combination of letters, but haven't figured out yet. any news let me know!
Até logo!
Oh, yeah, Jonathasmello! Almost done.
But a search @ Google I've found that the Spanish Latin Keyboard Layout (it seems that Asus assumes it when you configure the Asus Keyboard to Spanish-US) does not have a shortcut for "ç".
I'm still looking for a solution.
Unfortunately Asus support just can't understand what's going wrong with this issue. They keep answering me by e-mail to configure to Asus Keyboard Portuguese (Brazil). What a shame...
Jonathas,
A friend of mine found the solution: just hit ALT + "," or ALT + SHIFT + ","... and it's done: you'll have "ç" and "Ç"!!!
Posted a How-To-Configure/Tutorial (in Brazilian Portuguese) at SeidiMobile Blog: http://www.seidimobile.com.br/2011/...-layout-do-teclado-para-usuarios-brasileiros/
that helped me a lot =)
If you guys have a rooted TF, there is an easy hack you can do to be able to use any keyboard (such as ThumbKeyboard) with the dock while being able to use the proper Pt-Br punctuation (such as á à â ã and ç).
Simply change the asusec files on /system/usr/keychars/ and /system/usr/keylayout/ for the ones on the zip with a program such as ES explorer.
Let me know how it went.
JELLY BEAN: OLD problem with New UPDATE
Hey guys! Have you noticed that after jelly bean update the same old problem with portuguese layout has come back? I tried to set the spanish layout again, but now it did not work... any solutions?
Gente, não estou conseguindo acentuar facilmente como fazíamos antes da atualiação do jelly bean, simplesmente mudando o layout do teclado asus para espanhol americano. alguma solução?
abraço a todo!
big hug!

I'll see if I can make an update.zip to correct this.
Asus spanish does not work anymore
Guys after Jelly Bean update, we are not able to use the brazilian portuguese accented letters easly just by changing the keyboard layout to ASUS Spanish keyboard, it simply does not work...
I have found an aplication called External Keyboard Helper Pro and it seems to have the solution for all kind of problems related to these situations. I am facing some problems though with the "remap keys" stuff... could you guys (smarter than me) take a look on this and bless us all with the right steps to take? lol...
thank you brothers.....
I've read somewhere that the Transformer sold ins Brazil includes (stock Rom) the ABNT2 External keyboard layout.
If thats's true, could someone post here the content of the folders
/system/USR/Keychars
and
/system/USR/keylayout
or help me to make other devices (xoom for example) to recognize the ABNT2 External keyboard layout?
Obs: ABNT2 is a keyboard layout that includes ç Ç ã à e é ó ô. It has more keys than the standard keyboard and some keys like :;"'~` are in different positions. And the ã,ô, etc are a combination of two keys pressed, thats why it's not simple for a newbie like me to remap the keys.
Thanks in advance.
You may try app called "Russian keyboard", but NOT from market. Download an APK, decompile it with APKtool and in one of folders you'll find XML files for key layouts. There is a guide for layout editing, but it is in russian.
Here's a link, try use a google translator on it: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=134073&st=300#entry9806617
Also, somewhere near that link you'll find app "keyboardtest.apk" - it helps determining keycodes.
or you could download latest market release from market and then pull from data/app by
adb pull data/app/name of apk. or root explorer.
Testa essa dica.

Pra mim deu certo colocar no parão Espanhol (USA).
Não é tão bom quanto uma opção de US International, mas dá pra se habituar.
Thanks for the responses. I'm going to try the solution sugested by lw_temp and pashinator . But before that, i'd like to try this way that look like it's closer to the solution:
I have the keychars and keylayout folders from the Moto Atrix ROM, wich has support for many layouts, incluiding ABNT2.
I could even isolate the kbd_br_abnt2.kcm.bin
The two folders are zipped and attached to this post.
Could anyone give me directions on how to transfer this keyboard layout to the xoom? It's running the EOS ICS Everest Rom. I feel its close, but i'm a user, not a developer and i'm shure i'll never acomplish it without a help. There's a lot of keyboard layouts in this package, so it could be useful to many people in Europe as well.
-------------------------
To Cappelletti: I'm talking about an external ABNT2 hardware keyboard.
But for the onscreen (software) keyboard there's a good solution. It's an app called Hackers Keyboard (free in the Market).Try it. With this one you get the Portugal-Portuguese layout on the screen (with ç and dead keys for `^~, etc.) There's even the Portuguese prediction dictionary as a packet.
I'm sorry. I assumed you were talking about the dock.
My mistake.
Hello
On my butterfly that I spent in the French language I can not send sms because the keyboard does not give me the letters just the numbers,
any idea?
Merci
Hello guys,
I just flashed this ROM and it seems really great. Big up for Timduru!
Just one question.
I´m using czech keyboard layout for the asusec hardware keyboard. This layout is by default qwertz.
Anyway I would like to use czech qwerty layout. Is it possible?
I´ve read that the qwerty layout was in 4.2.2 and Timduru changed it in 4.3.x to qwertz - so any chance to have both of them?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362764&page=140
I was also looking into the following location based on the thread linked bellow but couldn´t find anything regarding czech layout (which I could modify)
/system/usr/keychars
/system/usr/keylayout
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392087&page=158
Thanks a lot for your help.
p.s. I misstzpe Z and Y so manz time just to write this post
You can do it with selecting two languages for example: Czech (qwertz) and English (qwerty) and just switching between them with "Ctrl+Space Bar".
When you need to use characters like: "ř,ž,č,š" you can just easily switch to the czech layout from the english one. (Czech here!)
Jako nejlepší řešení mi příjde si zvolit dva jazyky a měnit mezi nima!

Dagnan thanks for your reply but that is not a solution for me. I'm used to qwerty even when using czech language, so that would mean switching the languages all the time to write something in czech.
=01/11/14 - V017=
- Add Czech qwerty keyboard layout

Hello Friends,
In my old Galaxy A71, I had Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy) in Camera Emoji AR App.
Now the S20 FE doesn't have these characters. Is it possible to install these character pack???
Anyone who has a small child at home will understand the reason for this question.
I have those characters in mine.
