Got message on screen and don't know what it means - General Questions and Answers

I got a message that says "invitation to connect with (name of a person)". It was an Android dialog and had nothing that could tell me from where it comes. It has two buttons, decline and accept. From where this can come? I found similar post here on forum but it's about a fire device and I haven't amazon app installed at all. Also, my Bluetooth it's off. Thanks.

Ugh, have been long time and still not a single answer lol. This forum used to be pretty active. Perhaps, no one knows the answer?

In the words of a very wise man, have you tried turning it off and then on again?
I had a glitch in my phone. Turn off fastboot and then restart he phone. The option is in the Power options.
Or if you have an app called Mr. Number, it has this effect too. It's just not compatible.
yea, tried all the usual
When I got the phone after a few days it started happening... out of the box, no rooting/play around sense 3 all intact.
the I reset the phone to factory from the boot loader. problem came back after a while.
no, I'm using "go launcher" i don't have lots of apps, i run it light so save on ram and battery (hence "go launcher" and no "sense 3.0") and the problem is back. It happen to certain numbers first but now it seems to be the case with all of them.
Ive tired fast boot and everything.
one thing ive installed consistently through every scenario is "google voice", i really love it. I will try uninstalling it if anyone thinks its plausible. I think its just gingerbread messin around. I googled the issue and this is all i could find..

[Q] SGS kernal flasher wont work.

Hello, this is my first post on this site, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes or lack of information I give. I also apologize for the length of this question. I have the istar i9920, its a copy of the Samsung galaxy note, I got it from overseas, its an exact replica, but I have an issue. There is no notification light on it, and that bothers me very much. I did research and found an app called "BLN control", which is supposed to make the keys (menu and back keys) blink as a way of notifying me of a received text message, missed call, voice mail, etc. However, its telling me that the BLN mod is not installed. I have absolutely no idea what to do. It gave me a site to go to, this one, and i read some forums. I clicked on a link and it took me to this app called "SGS kernel flasher" but it said "Error: the flash type of this device is not yet supported!" Please help, I'm getting extremely annoyed. Thank you.

Sometimes "Say Call, Followed by a Name or a Number'"...

...and other times I just get a "beep" where I can say Call John. I'd prefer one or the other - more specifically the latter. Can anyone shine a light on this? I am thinking that it has something to do with Swype/Dragon vs. Google's version, but how can I disable one and still keep the other features?
If anyone knows, thanks in advance!! Been bugging me for a long time....
Sorry to ask again, but can anyone confirm this issue or even better, make a suggestion on how to fix it? The only thing I didn't mention in the original post was that I'm using a wired headset where I push and hold the button on it.

I can confirm that something has been recently "pushed" down to our phones. I used to get "Say Call, followed by name or number" when using a long-press on a BT headset(plantronics). I now simply get the beep.
Also, it now seems to be a *requirement* for google to have your contacts, as it now tells me "Sure, but when its safe, please unlock your phone and enable device information" when I try to make a call. Bummer. I liked the local "lookup" mode and really don't want all my phone numbers linked to my google account. I tried downgrading "google play services", but it goes to the factory version which is way too old... it seems more difficult if you just want to go back a few months, not to the original version installed on your phone.

Deactivate Bluetooth-Connection-PopUp?

Hi,
I am really annoyed of that pop up, that comes up, when you activate bluetooth, giving you the chance of connecting directly to coupled devices or search for new ones...
As most of my bt-devices connect automatically, and the S7 is obviously visible also for not coupled devices, as long as this window is open (at least the text says so), I do absolutely not want this pop up at all...
It is not even going away after some time...if you dont close it manually, it stays open forever.
So, can anyone tell me, how to deactivate this window? I just want my S7 to start bluetooth, when i click the quick setting, and if I need anything more, I go into the detailed bt-settings separately...thx for any hint!

really, noone knows a solution to, or is at least also bothered by this touchwiz-supercrap?
I have the same problem.. pretty annoying. I world very much like to know this too :/

Am I missing something with how message notifications work?

OK. I've had this problem on every Android phone I've ever used. Someone sends me a test message. I get a notification. I reply. They reply, BUT I GET NO NOTIFICATION!. Everything is quiet, nothing, nada, no indication that anyone has replied. I have every notification toggle I can see set to the ON position, but still nothing. Am I missing something here? Sometimes I get a text message, and there is NO notification at all. Like I said this happens with every Android device I have ever owned. Can someone clue me in?
open the application message, tap on the points at the top right, go to settings and enable all notifications.
I checked on my mobile.
excuse my bad english.
The first question what someone needs to ask is
Which version you on, stock rom / custom / root (yes - no )
