Hi,
I have a toasters experience in rooting phones. I learned the hard way "How to Flash ftf".
Now i need help to root my Phone, I know that there are hundreds of threads on rooting and Roms. I don't know where to start.
because all threads start differently for me, Just guide me to a thread which has the right stuff for a beginner.
More info about my device.
Model - D6603
Android Version - 6.0.1
Build Number - 23.5.A.1.291
A Little after help like Tips to Install Supersu, Titanium backup, Xposed Frameworks ( Only Thing i Know is the Names) will be helpful.
I'd also be very keen to know this! Without a bootloader unlock.

no , dont extract.
just rename and place the file/s on the following destination C:\Users\(your user name)\.flashTool\firmwares
then open flashtool, , it'll appear where the firmware appears.
alternatively , you can use an app called, Kingroot, to root the device (simple)... and then install recovery as instructed in that post.
Quite Easy, just follow these steps and download some files;
1. Download D6603_23.0.A.2.93 Kitkat firmware and flash via flashtool,
2. Then download GIEFROOT ROOT and root Kitkat with GIEFROOT,
3. Download XZ DUAL RECOVERY for Z3, and Install recovery via PC,
4. After installing recovery, download flashable .291 MM Update and flash it through recovery!!!
5. Hurrah!!! Enjoy the newly rooted device!!!
*Search on XDA for required files or, ask me.
1-Make bootloader unlocked.
2-Install TW-RP
3-Flash the prerooted .291 kernel number rom or another prerooted rom.

i also need help for that
Search for "flashtool", download and install. Sony formwares come packed as FTFs, you can make them yourself too using flashtool. Don't update the phone first. Search giefroot, it will root your phone. Search "nut dual recovery" and install it after rotting. After this, never flash FTFs until there's nothing else you can do. Search "xperifirm", it will be used to download latest firmware for your device. "xperifirm will download a bunch of files to a folder and flashtool can use these files to make a FTF. Search "PRF creator" PRF is prerooted firmware. PRF C makes a zip file of latest firmware which you can flash through recovery. Wait till your phone is here, once you are doing it, it will become clearer. Search "Backup TA". This should be first thing to use after you root.
if you want to flash custom roms you will need to unlock the bootloader which will invalidate your warranty
how to root is on the first page of the general thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
Can i root without unlocking bootloader?
I read, that the picture quality suffers when rooting, or was it unlocking, or both? can custom roms cope with that fact, or will it stay, whatever i flash afterwards?
thanks!

everything i wrote works without unlocking the bootloader except installing other ROMs
Alright guys, I'm sorry since there already are a lot of threads about how rooting this device, but from what I've seen it's a complete mess and I can't really understand how to do things properly without ruining my phone.
I need root access with supersu, xposed and lollipop, without rosing my keys, staying on the stock rom.
I read that I should backup, downgrade my firmware to kitkat, root with a one click tool (without losing my keys?) and flash a lollipop update (one of those posted there?)
Then, after having rooted via the one click tool and backupping the keys, am I really safe to flash stuff and then restore them? (always staying on stock)
Now:
What makes me lose the DRM keys? Will getting Xposed and Supersu make me lose my keys?
Is there, by chance, a way that makes me root the phone and install Xposed on lollipop without ANY worries about the keys?
Could you please answer my questions or just tell me the best way to do this safely? I'm really scared of breaking my new device, with my old Samsung I flashed what I wanted without any worries >__>
You will only lose DRM keys if you unlock the bootloader.
Flash a KK FTF ending in .93 using flashtool from flashtool.net
Root it using Giefroot
Install [NUT]'s dual recovery
Flash a prerooted Lollipop ROM.
Done

Alright it's perfect
There's just one thing that didn't happen before...
Messenger won't open when I use the facebook app, it uses the ugly standard app by default and I don't know how to change that, I've already tried unistalling both, disabling Xperia with Facebook and it didn' work!
I don't know if it's a feature of the pre-rooted ROM or something else, does anybody know anything about it?
It never happened on my old rom, can't find anything about it on Google

Hi,
looking at what you did, Would like to keep to original rom z3 d6603 but rooted and xposed working
which lolipop rom did you end up flashing, latest one is 5.1.1 23.4.a.1.264?
did you installed Xposed? which one worked?
reading all about rooting z3, and I also want to make sure I have all files needed before starting.
older phone original z rooted on lolipop.

Hello there,
have been trying to root my new xperia z3 for 3 weekends now with no luck.
My bootloader has been unlocked through sony website, then relocked and unlocked many times using flashtool.
Looks like all the recoveries (doomlord, twrp) I could find work only on 4.4.4. Then I use flashtool to flash lollipop 5.1.1 23.4.A.1.200 and either wipe and loose the root or don't wipe all and enter a bootloop.
Flashing those recovery kernels straight on lollipop make the phone enter bootloop.
Are you guys able to root those Z3 under 5.1.1 ?
thank you
Sure shot easy way is flash kitkat firmware and use giefroot or flash 5.0 firmware and use kingroot.
Mate, you have to flash a prerooted version of 5.1.1 you can't just flash a stock rom and expect to stay rooted.
Downgrade to Kitkat then root and install a custom recovery. Then you download 5.1.1, Super Su and a custom recovery, create a pre rooted flashable zip with PRFcreator . Then flash it in your custom recovery and you're done. Rooted 5.1.1 with a custom recovery ready to rock.
Kingroot isn't recommendable, your IMEI is sent to China. Downgrade to 4.4, root with giefieroot, upgrade with pre-rooted ROM.
Btw: did you make a backup of your TA partition before unlocking bootloader?
Thanks a lot for your answer guys.
Am unusually struggling with this device.

Have already downgraded to kitkat, installed custom recovery and rooted. But the 5.1.1 stock flash indeed wipe everything.
Haven't found yet a custom recovery for 5.1.1 that doesn't make the phone enter a bootloop. Would you happen to have a link ?
I'll give a look to that PRFcreator, didn't know about it.

This is what I read about kingroot and haven't found any other way to root a 5.1.1 stock.
Where could I find a pre-rooter ROM then ? My wish was to be stock and rooted to be able to use apps like titanium backup and adblockers. Used to try custom roms every other day on my old SGS but today I'd be happy with something that just works.
Did not make any backup before unlocking but looked like flashtool was able to relock the device. Am I right guessing I didn't loose my DRM keys then ?
Thanks again for your answers.
Edit: looks like am missing sthg, what's the point in rooting a kitkat to upgrade with a pre-rooted lollipop right after ?
After KitKat root you get a Lollipop pre-rooted image and flash it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/d6603-5-0-2-flashable-stock-23-1-0-690-t3056361
Here are the steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
I hope you made a TA backup before unlocking your bootloader, otherwise you have lost your DRM keys forever.
Anyway, if your bootloader is now locked, follow the guide that Licaon_Kter linked in the above post.
The exploit that lets us root our Z3 only works on Kitkat, so downgrade first, run the exploit to obtain root, and install recovery.
You will then have stock, rooted, KitKat.
To get to 5.1.1, you will then need to either create your own pre rooted firmware, or download one that someone has kindly posted on here.
If you want to learn how to do it, read this --> Create your own pre rooted firmware with PRF Creator
PRF Creator will create a zip file that can be flashed from recovery, so once you have recovery installed, it's dead easy.
That will get you where you want to be.
However . . . and there's always a however lol . . .
. . . if you still have an unlocked bootloader, it is much simpler from wherever you are.
Find any custom rom that has recovery built in, and almost all do, then fastboot the kernel only, the boot.img.
Reboot your device and enter recovery.
Install your pre rooted firmware that you have either created with PRF Creator, or downloaded from here.
Job done.
My personal advice is read, read, and then read some more.
It can be very complicated, but you'll get the hang of it.

This didn't work for me. Am losing it now with this phone.

I appreciate your still trying to help me.
I do use flashtool and am able to root a Kitkat 23.0.A.2.93, so I don't see the point in using giefroot unless it could root a lollipop.
I have read thoroughly and downloaded pre-rooted lollipop stock roms from the link you provided.
Once under KK, rooted, with all settings set properly (debug, security, etc...), and all caches/dalvik/data wiped, the CMW recovery just don't flash those lollipop roms. After just one sec, it says install completed but then the device still boot under KK.
TWRP doesn't even intall, so am wondering if this is even possible to get a TWRP on stock rom.
Have tried all of those with bootloader unlocked and locked, or a mix like unlocked first to be able to root a KK, then relock to flash a stock prerooted 5.1.1 (as stated in the post) but then I get a device that doesn't even boot.
Tried dualrecovery too, flash the zip, and nothing.
I suspect all of you guys have used some sort of .bat windows utility to get through this.
Once again, thanks for your help and patience.

The point is to go from the BEGINing _again_: Flash stock KK, giefroot, XZ, pre-rooted LP
I have done it in Linux w/ locked bootloader and stock ROM, hence my pointers.
XZDualrecovery has TWRP 2.8.7.0. But, do take note that you use Volume Down to enter PhilzTouch Recovery and Volume Up to enter TWRP.

am sorry, can't find how to use giefroot on a mac.
read quite a few post of people saying that was not working for them.
Run the INSTALL.SH file in a console (just like they instruct you for the .BAT file for Windows), it detects OS and runs either adb for Linux or for Mac.
Well, like I said, it worked fine in Linux, I guess it should work on Mac, providing the device is detected ok beforehand and such. ( what does "adb devices" outputs with the phone connected ? )

So my question can be funny. But need.
You searched any custom recovery for your device before asking here?

2) send me 3 files from stock ROM (same build version ROM of your device): recovery.img - boot.img - scatter....txt
If you don't have stock ROM, so I can't help!!
You need know about tool process to flash files.

About TWRP question:
1- is need anyone with experience (or courage to do) to flash stock files with SPFT.
IYou can able to do a backup stock ROM with SPFT if build version ROM is different from firmware. Then you will be able to flash the test file.
2- is need know if need unlock bootloader or not.
The first moment NO UNLOCK! If the file test not boot so is need Unlock to know if work file test.
3- I not need phone in my hands. But is very easy and fast solving issues when have its.
Because is more easy to repair phone if anything wrong happens. So the risk and responsability is of the user!!

With Custom recovery you can flash SuperSu or Magisk to have Root. Marshmallow ROM has the part that no good to Root with apps (in first released. But can have modified.).
So You can try some apps or software to have Root like kingroot (I don't like that but...). Search in xda!
Stock ROM: click in the link first post have Source Code going to thread with firmware and SEARCH if exist.
On that can have recovery.img file.
If not: send me PM and I show for you.
Your MT6570 can have difficulty or easy. All depend of your knowledge, courage and attempts!
Obviously, with security is better!!

You have the BLU S1 - S0320WW - MT6750 - Android 7.0 Nougat - 2 GB RAM - 16GB ROM.
For TWRP 3.2.x (either the kernel with Marshmallow or Nougat) it is necessary to perform a data reset (WIPE - FORMAT DATA) part so that the TWRP recognizes the data structure in the phone. This is required for TWRP to also see internal storage.
For people who do not know, there is currently a patch.zip called disable_encryption (forceencrypt=> encryptable). But it should be done particularly for an MT6750 with Android 7 or someone else making one for /or you do yourself.
With the option made in FORMAT DATA the device will start the ROM as factory.
That's why I always write something that people should know about like the attacked image.
Obviously, after installing TWRP you could use a MicroSD to back up your data. But, since you have already reset ....
Regarding partitions do you need to know, compare and confirm if the TWRP coming from the donor has the same partitioning structure as your phone.
If everything works out well, congratulations and good luck! :fingers-crossed:
@lopestom intentionally i reset factory to remove the data encryption and it worked. TWRP shows all the partitions with the available space.
What I want is to be able to do in the future, to clean Data without removing files from internal storage (music, pics)
Could that be possible?
I compared the partition table of both and they are the same.
The difference between the devices more than everything, is in ram and storage.
Hace the same mt6750

Well. If you or other user installing TWRP in first time so yes, need FORMAT Data. But installing universal disable encrypt patch and Root so I think the users no lost internal storage. Obviously if TWRP look internal storage after install that files....
If no, so need FORMAT Data. In this case that's need only in first install TWRP. After that no need same process....
Two ways for no lost files: 1) put files in the Microsd. 2) in each period you can copy files to your PC or host/server like google photos, drive, etc...

You can try the KingRoot option from here. It worked on my Blu Studio One Plus. It says 2018 but its updated 2019 in the actual post. But in reality, nothing probably changed from the previous year to this year

Hello lopestom, thank you for the TWRP for the Blu Studio One Plus. I tried getting the file from Android File Host but it kept telling me that access was denied to me there. Luckily I found it here.
I am hoping you can help me as I now want to use TWRP and magisk to root my device instead of the kingroot that I used previously.
Can you upload the stock boot.img for the Blu Studio One Plus? I'm trying to flash the stock firmware once more onto the device so It can hopefully fix some problems I'm having. After removing kingroot, it's being pesky and not letting me fully remove root and is at times stuck in a bootloop or not wanting to boot properly at all.
I'm able to access factory mode, standard recovery mode, and go into fastboot. But I'm afraid to create my own boot.img from it's current state, fearing the current problems will persist. The latest firmware I have is BLU_S0130UU_V14_GENERIC
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Since TWRP is not official for Xz2c, you will need to rely on custom builds, or build your own. Only one I know of for O is here - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603893744 - by @MartinX3. It's for a different build, but I think you should be able to update build without wiping data, and be OK. He also has a corresponding ftf here -

What's the FTF? I've been reading the forums and am still unsure as to how to root the phone. I have unlocked the bootloader.
Thanks Levone1

Ftf is the flashing file that contains all of the information and files to flash a stock rom on your phone.
To root, just flash the ftf, and then follow the instructions in MartinX3's recovery thread here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...recovery-twrp-3-2-2-0-touch-recovery-t3821597.
To flash the ftf, you need to use Flashtool by Androxyde or Newflasher. They each have their own threads with instructions / support.
If you use Flashtool, you'll need this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp.../flashtool-android-pie-52-x-fsc-file-t3896454

You really should read up on the process since bricking a handset is really easy, and your questions show a lack of understanding. TWRP is not a ROM, TWRP is a RECOVERY. Your phone has a bootloader, a recovery and a ROM (the operating system). You can only change operating systems (a different ROM or a rooted ROM) by changing the recovery which enables flashing ROMs, and you can only change the recovery by unlocking the bootloader. Screwing up any of those steps can brick a handset.
XDA is chock full of information and the poster above gave you directions for several helpful threads. Read these carefully and most of your questions will be answered.

Flashtool / Newflasher will put stock rom on your phone, (make it like factory). Everything else is explained in MartinX3's thread.
