Just found somthing really cool!!! Android Wear DP (DP3 in my case) has build in Google Assistant!! Yes it's not a Google Now that's why it didn't worked. As soon as i instaled Google Assistant on my Nexus 6P it started working on my watch too!!!!
huawei watch nve68j
I also have a Huawei watch and Google Assistant on my 5X. How were you able to activate it on your watch? "Ok Google" still brings up the same interface as before.

Do you have the newest android wear 2.0 dp (nve68j) installed?
If so, as long as you have Google Assistant on you phone just hold the button on you watch and you should see a question if you would like to unable Google Assistant using your phone (or something similar). Just accept it and it should work!)
Now I have it working with my Huawei watch (nve68j) and Nexus 6p (npf10c)
Or you just getting error about reaching google?

Will download Android Wear 2.0 DP and see what happens. Thanks!
im wondering, is it possible to install google assistant on my non developer preview Polar m600 android wear watch?
It's great if your phone is assistant capable, otherwise you lose the query functionality from the watch altogether.
does this provide SPOKEN ANSWERS ON WATCH to questions asked of Google?

mmmhhh.. I've read that it's exclusively work on pixel's, i think some dev have to add some libs to works on our actual n5x... are you sure you tried ?
I tried it, but the app told me I need the Google VR Services in a newer version. The version on APKMirror was not enough.
But looks very promising

The official reason the Nexus 5X doesn't support Daydream is because of it's thermal limits. If it works unofficially just make sure it won't overheat in the headset.
just tried it. installed all the apk from apkmirror.com but got a message that my device is not compatible.
Does someone have any idea how to use the Daydream controller in Youtube Cardboard mode?
I'll do my best to help where I can. I have a daydream on order, should arrive in a few days. So far I have downloaded the app from apkmirror. Once I opened the app, it said I needed newest Google VR Services. So I also downloaded the latest version from apk-mirror. That allowed me to go ahead with the setup of the daydream app. When I go to press the button to go into VR mode, it FCs daydream. Too early totell what this may mean, I need to get my daydream VR headset and get it paired up and I can play some more. I'm noticing that even the Daydream compatible games on the play store I cannot install to my phone because the play store reports them as incompatible with the 5x.
I'm using Pixelrom v3.21, which is Nougat 7.1.1 DP1 based.
Got my headset yesterday after seeing the video but it doesn't really proof anything. After installing the apk, the app crashes when trying to enter the VR mode. It's not recognizing the headset via NFC and the controller doesn't work.
But I was able to install 3rd party VR apps and use them with the headset. After using it for an hour it got pretty hot, so you might want to give it a break after a while.
So in the end you have a comfortable cardboard without the controller and daydream app.
Tried it with stock 7.0.0 and developer beta 7.1.1.

Thank you, but it still says it needs to update when I try and launch it. I already tried restarting my phone, Have you done anything else diffrently?
I remember uninstalling, then reinstalling daydream and I didn't get the update message again.

I have tried reinstalling now, still no change in behavior.
So I finally got my Daydream viewer and remote from Google. The controller pairs with no issues. The headset has a built in NFC chip, so when you put your phone I to the headset, it must auto launch some program. However, when I put In The 5x, it just displays a message saying this phone is incompatible with the 5x. So I can't even use the nice headset with Google cardboard, unless I disable the NFC.
The daydream app instantly crashes when I hit the viewer icon so that doesn't work either. So ATM I cant do anything at all with the daydream viewer. I'm sure in time someone can reengineered the daydream app to work with other phones, or trick the app into thinking it is a Pixel, but ATM it's useless.
Oh well.
Im also getting the needs updates google vr services, last installed the versions uploaded to apkmirror november 21st (yesterday) although version number indicates it's November 19th build.
Tried uninstalling, deleting cache, restarting to no avail.... any help?!
have you tried modifiny your build.Prop to make it look like a pixel
and download some game (wonderland) from the playstore ?
does the controller also work ?
if u guys are very eager in using daydream vr in nexus 5x... maybe u can try doing what they did in
nexus 6p to get daydream working. goodluck

Im so disappointed that Daydream doesnt work with my 5x, that and getting rid of the ugly google search bar were the 2 things that I was looking forward to the most from 7.1 and neither happened...
I'm super stoked that the Google Assistant is FINALLY on the Verizon Note 5. For anyone who doesn't yet have it, be sure to update your Google and Google Play Services apps, and you should now have the full, official Google Assistant in all its conversational glory.
Has anyone found any cool easter eggs or just awesome functionality? I've noticed that you can actually activate with Screen-Off by using S-Voice to first wake up the phone, then say OK Google when on the lock screen. A bit wonky but it works in a pinch and is super useful when your hands are full...
I like the texting feature. I can text and drive now.....legally?

Yeah but that was possible even before we got assistant....It was part of google now.
I could get Now to open my messenger but I had to type the message. Assistant will open and understands speech very accurately so no more typing

That's odd, I never had a problem with it, I use extra, but other sms worked just fine for me too.
Hey guys,
I'm looking at potentially buying one of these and I can live with side loading most Google apps i need but, i've seen some info on the web that suggests due to the lack of GMS that Android Wear will not work. Can I use my Wear OS watch fully with this or, not at all?
Thanks!
Hi,
I've owned the Mate 30 Pro for all but 12 hours last week and managed to move all my apps via "Phone Clone" but remember that one of the reasons I returned it was the fact that even though I managed to have Wear OS app on the Mate 30 Pro, it wouldn't launch due to lack of Google support.
Hi,
Even if you still manage to install GMS on the phone, you will not be able to sync the Google account from phone to watch. Due to this you will have only calls, notifications and health tracking working.

Not true for the people who have GMS fully working except google pay and netflex. My fossil gen 4 is working fine, installed a bunch of paid watch faces bought on google play store on the Mate 30 pro and transferred on the watch. I had GMS installed in January this year and have no pop-up warnings.
I also don't have any issue with GMS on phone. I don't use GPay and i use the older apk for Netflix. Only issue i have is to copy the account from phone to watch. BUT... i think this applies only to Huawei Watch 2 users. I don't know for other types of watches.
I have not found a way yet of adding my Google account from my mate 30 Pro to my Android Wear watch too. Notifications work ok from other apps on the watch, so not a complete loss but 'Google' wear apps can not be installed as Wear play store and it's account does not exist on the watch.
I have the Moto 360 and works fine with my mate 30 pro
My Huawei Smartwatch 2 (2019) is working fine with WearOS

Hi everyone, I've looked everywhere in some forums but nothing.
Is there any way to activate Google Assistant on 2017 tv?
Obviously not officially supported but WebOs up to date to 05.50, i think i'ts could be a function need to be activated.

I've already changed country code using anymote and hidden menu, from est-europe to italy and everything works perfectly.
Thanks to everyone will replay

I managed to get it working by changing the region with the Service Remote to USA. However when trying to link the Google Nest Mini to the TV I got an error saying that LG is not available in my current location. So, even if the Google Assistant is working, I have region restrictions that will not allow me to use the TV + Google Nest as I would’ve wanted.

Hello
What's the major difference a user would notice of using Wear OS and not Galaxy Wear?
Would things like Google Assistant work?

Likewise. I just bought a watch4 and I'm a bit confused. Should I pick one or the other or use both apps?
If you need Google Assistant to be integrated you need Wear OS else you are limited by Bixby on the older Galaxy Wear watches

I get just over half way and it stops, I only have one Google account.
I had to select the pair all devices and available Bluetooth devices popped up, I then selected the watch4
