[Completed] Will flashing twrp wipe data? - XDA Assist

I own a OnePlus X. Recently I unlocked it's bootloader which obviously wiped data, and for some weird reason I didn't flash twrp and setup my phone after rebooting. Now I wish to install twrp. So will flashing twrp wipe my data again? Pls help!!!!

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist,
installing a new recovery will not wipe your data.
Kind regards & good luck

So I should use ADB and fastboot just like I had done for unlocking bootloader?
Thanx btw

You can't flash a recovery via ADB. You need to use fastboot.
fastboot flash recovery *filename*.img would work.

[Completed] Is my emmc bad?

I have a ZTE Blade G Lux phone which runs offical stock 4.4 KK with Ext4 filesystem.
Recently it doesn't boot pass Logo. It goes into fastboot and recovery. Ive tried flashing stock via recovery and via SP Flash Tools but it still gets stuck at Logo screen.
So i Modified Boot.img to allow booting from SDCard and it booted properly. Could the EMMC have partially died ? It seems all partitions before logo work but after it doesn't work like system, userdata , cache & fat partitions. i have also tried format via SP Flash tools. Is there anyway to fix these partitions?
Thank you in advance

[Completed] Huawei G8 TWRP not overriding EMUI revovery

Phone: Huawei G8 Single Sim (Vodaphone carrier)
after installing the unofficial cyanogen mod ROM and installing TWRP for my device, when holding down the power button & also trying through fastboot, i always seem to go to the EMUI recovery and not the TWRP one.
I have tried the following.
>using power button and volume up
>booting into recovery through fastboot (also trying this straight after flashing)
My phone is unlocked and rooted i have also tried flashing through the twrp app and flashify but get an error along the lines of failed to copy files.
The only way i have been able to get into twrp us by using the command "fastboot flash boot twrp.img" which then boots the phone into twrp.
Any help would be much appreciated.

[Completed] LG Gpad vk410 - No ADB, No Recovery, No DL Mode, No Factory Reset - Any Hope?

I just got this a few days ago. I rooted with Kingroot, and then tried to flash TWRP with Flashify. That's when the trouble started, it rebooted to a frozen Verizon logo. Factory reset and wipe cache both lead to frozen screens. I tried to repair using ADB, I wiped my recovery partition thinking it may unlock access to fastboot. I've tried the Verizon tool and LG Flash Tool, Bridge, PC Suite - the only one I haven't is LGUP, it won't detect my device.
I did manage to wipe it using ADB, which locked me out of all ADB access. But no help otherwise.
Basically I can boot to the main bootloader which freezes on the Verizon logo, or I can boot into the recovery/factory reset screen - but no luck with factory reset or wiping cache. The recovery tools seem to rely on me having access to download mode.
Any ideas? Am I wasting my time at this point?
Thanks!

Greetings and welcome to assist. It sounds like either your bootloader is locked or you have flashed a rom not compatible with your device. There is a friendly Q&A thread here
