Restore your backed up EFS folder .
Fixed, although no mine backup. According to great manual, took efs from i9300, pit for n8000 and stock rom. Works!!!

Hi
Quick question I was changing recovery I was on TWRP and decided to change to philz cwm I flashed it booted phone and there was no IMEI in status. I then decided to reflash TWRP which fixed my IMEI I am confused why it would do this, any info on this would be appreciated.

Bad cache partition probably. Flashign a recovery wont "break" your IMEI and teh fact that ti came back means it ws never broken but sometimes when the /cache partition goes bad, IMEI appears to be lost. Usually formatting or fastboot flashign cache.img fixes that

I too have the same issue. I've reverted everything back to stock, flashed cache.img, flashed latest stock image directly from Google, and still 0 for IMEI. Nothing seems to fix this.
After searching through countless threads on this site, I've had no avail in resetting my Rogers Samsung Galaxy S6 running XtreStoLite 2.2.
A little while ago, I thought it would be a good idea to encrypt my phone with a custom ROM installed. I knew I had recovery and download mode, so I thought It'd be no biggie. Left the phone on overnight encrypting, came back 24 hours later and knew that it hung somewhere. Booted it up and this screen came up: Reset it and restored from TWRP backup, the same screen right here came up: http ://i.imgur.com/J37aZaq .png (sorry XDA will not let me post links, remove spaces) after this, I tried pressing the "reset device" button without success. It just rebooted the phone. Tried to restore from a different backup, no avail, then I tried to flash my custom ROM again through TWRP, no avail. I download ODIN and flashed stock Samsung firmware onto it and it still gave me this screen when I was done. Tried going into TWRP and factory resetting (where it wipes all partitions) and nothing happened. Currently, I'm trying to flash my Samsung Galaxy S6 with the stock firmware through ODIN with the "re-parition" box checked.
It seems there's a hardware flag of some sort stopping this from working. I mean, my file system is brand new, reset to factory defaults, I even checked with ADB and everything has been formatted. Checked with TWRP file manager and everything is good. But I can't get past the "Encryption Failed" screen.
Help me! Thanks.
fix
did you fix this?
Hi, i am encountering the same problem with my G920F.
I have the XtreStoLite_Deo_Mod_v.2.3 and also TWRP installed
I started encrypting but it got stuck so i rebooted my phone and got the same message (Encryption failed, please do a factory reset). So i did the reset but the same screen appeared. I also tried restoring from a back-up from TWRP but the same screen was still there. So i decided to do a full wipe and restore the phone with a twrp back up witch was on my laptop. But when i am in TWRP i can not copy files to (or from) my phone. So it is not possible to get the backup on my phone. I am able to get in to download mode and connect the phone with odin.
My questions are :
- what was the solution to the problem?
- What causes the copying error? And what is the solution? So i can put the backup on my phone and try to restore it this way.
- What are my option with odin? Can i use the TWRP files in odin?
Thanks a lot in advance
Jules
Solved the issue. After a full wipe i installed a stock firmware with odin. It still displayed encryption failed after reboot. But after the factory reset the notification was gone.
I have fixed this
Best solution is on a stock rom to reset. If rooted with recovery -format and wipe all data, reset, let sit at boot for a while, go into recovery and install new rom from USB-OTG, or odin from download mode.
Ok, so I asked this in XDA Assist but can't post reply there.
This is what happened on my Xperia mini St15i, with firmware 4.1.B.0.587:
1. I turned on Bluetooth and the phone got stuck in infinite boot loop - apparently this is a known bug.
2. I decided to try out CM 9. Installed CWM Recovery and did backup on sd card and flashed CM.
3. I remembered that I did the backup earlier so I thought maybe there is a way to keep my apps and data.
4. I went back to CWM and restored from backup. CM didn't boot then, so I flashed back stock rom with flashtool and booted the phone. The apps and data was there( at least for one app which was very important), but contacts and messages were gone.
So my question is, is there a way to recover ALL user data from the backup? I don't care if it's on stock rom or CM at this point.
I hope some of you knowledgeable people can help!
Many thanks,
Paul
Can someone please help. :crying:
I managed to restore it with all the data by trial and error (I don't know HOW). Then at night the phone lost battery and is back to rebooting forever.
If I restore all via CWM and then flash stock, it boots up saying "Android is upgrading" and then keeps rebooting.
If I do a factory reset via CWM and flash stock rom, the phone is back to factory setting with no data.
WHICH partitions should I recover and which should I flash to retain the data??? HELP :crying:
Firstly sorry for my bad English
I've got my Galaxy S6 G920P Sprint Version into bootloop by accident while go back to a stock rom from a cook rom
I've use the stock rom (G920PVPU3CPB6_G920PSPT3CPB6_G920PVPU3CPB6_HOME ) try to get out of bootloop but It didnt work, the phone is hanging on the samsung logo. It was like this after the blue screen of "System update" youtube.com/watch?v=LYGaHF5W2Ew&feature=youtu.be[/url]
And then, when I tried to go into the recovery mod, it showed this screen ( https: (space ) //scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t34.0-12/14017697_1846655192224882_1264831054_n.png?oh=d7d1cdde07ced22d4ce27775ffb6d55e&oe=57B9810E ) and then, i tried to wipe the data, cache then go "Reboot system now" but it didn't work and still got into bootloop, again. I've tried everything but still not worked.
PLEASE HELP, I HAVE NOT ENOUGH CONDITION TO GO OUT TO FIX THE PHONE

Hello. I think I messed up the EFS folder on my Samsung J3 Pro (J3110) phone. I have a backup of the EFS folder though but I could not restore it as it's just the folder and not in tar or img format. My phone is in boot loop no matter what I do like flashing the stock rom a few times and try to wipe data and cache in the recovery.

Greetings and welcome to assist. A corrupt efs folder would not normally cause the phone to bootloop it would only cause you to lose baseband. How did you back up your efs ? If it was twrp then restore it with that. I would try flashing a stock rom first though to see if it fixes your bootloop
Good Luck

Hi, thanks for your suggesstion. I tried flashing the stock rom but it's still in bootloop. I even wiped the data and cache in stock recovery and the phone reboots at the spinning Samsung animation. And yes I have the EFS folder backup but I cannot restore it as my phone is in the infinite bootloop state now.
