It doesn't look very secure... The magnets can hardly make contact at that angle... It'll protect the screen while being carried in a bag, but it doesn't protect the edges or corner in case of any impact... Very disappointed in this. I was hoping for a better cover & this could actually be a deal breaker for me.

Technically this isn't a case. It's a screen cover.

I changed my payment method and they removed my ship date... Canceled.

I'm sure BBY will. They have the official Nex7 case. It's just a matter of when they'll get them.

Any word on when this case will be available in the UK?

I canceled mine after they delayed it with no eta. I hope that Google releases it soon

Curious...will this cover allow for a vertical standing position?

Any updates on this case? I can't find any news on it anywhere. It's a shame, this looks like it'd fill the needs for a lot of people.

Just got an email from amazon saying there was a manufacturer delay. They wouldn't give an exact estimate but the email stated it should arrive before Dec 1.

I hadn't seen the two leather options for the Magic Case before today on Amazon. Black or Tan leather, $10 more.

Its available for pre-order through the UK Amazon Store with a reduced price of £25. I thought, might as well.

Google needs to get their ish together. This launch has been a huge fail.

With the lack of Nexus 9 cases, the Nexus 6 preorders, the Moto360 launch, etc.
You would hope they would learn over the years, but it seems worse each time.
I love the products, but c'mon Google.

dbrand experience

Hey everyone, im kinda new here so correct me if im doing something wrong.
Now onto the subject, i have my moto x for 2 months now and had a case but i dont really like it, but i want some protection so i looked for other options and came to dbrand. Its quite expensive for a skin (10$ + 5$ for shipping) but maybe its worth it. So maybe one of you guys has experience with dbrand and want to share it. Also i want a screen protector so if anyone has suggestions, they are welcome

Yeah fpr scratches mostly, i never ever let a phone drop. Never did it before never gonna happen

I have many many dbrand skins and they have top botch customer service. Their skins are also the best fitting ones I have used. I've tried skinomi, slick wraps, and bodyguardz. They ship from Canada and drive across the border to mail the skins via USPS. So that's why IRS more expensive for shipping (usually on $3CAD which is cheaper than 3$USD obviously) there are many threads about their skins, but I recommend you look in the Nexus 6 section because the OP for dbrand is 600+ posts long with many pictures and customer experiences.

it's perfect to protect against scratches. I had one on my nexus4 so that i didn't scratch up the glass back & have one on my moto x right now. there's a thread in here that I created that has a couple of pictures from us that have them.

not sure if im late on this and you decide yet or not, but i had a wood skin on my n4 that fit excellent, and a brushed aluminum and carbon fiber for my nexus 7 2013 version that fit well and covered the soft touch rubber dimpled back. i purchased one for my moto x 2014 on december 26th, it was my first bad experience with dbrand. it wasnt necessarily bad because of the product or anything, it fit excellent and looks great (i dont like cases either so a skin was more to give me somehing to hold besides the slipper back), but it took for ever to get here, i just recieved it today, January 10th, thats 15 days, i also paid 3 dollars for shipping and it arrived in a lick-and-stick white envelope with a $.48 stamp so not sure where the other 2.62 went, i saw someone mention they drive them across borders but idk about that. the product is great as i mentioned, but expect to wait to get it. i actually ordered a case for it (the light duty unicorn beetle), because i hadnt recieved the skin, and was worried about scuffing or dirtying the back panel (white on my phone), and it arrived before the skin despite being ordered 9 days after ordering the skin lol.

Thanks for sharing, i ordered mine a few days ago and they said shipping time is longer than usual, because of fewer orders. (I live in europe so shipping costs are 5$) i hope its worth it, i got the dark wood one

That's correct they do drive across the border to ship them. I've had orders take 30+ days but you have to remember that USPS is delivering it SK if it takes forever you can thank them. I do wish they offered faster shipping or at least tracking but I doubt they will.
I made a guide/comparison between all of the skins I've tried so far from dbrand and SlickWraps in the Nexus 6 section. My wife doesn't like skins of her Moto X but I did manage to get her the matte black camera one which she is OK with and it helps prevent scratches to the lens. Check out the pictures and guide I wrote on the skins if you want an idea of what to expect from each company. I've ordered many skins and I have more on the way and I can attest to each companies products and how they work. I've had issues with both companies but both did work to address them.

Rhino Shield case and screen protector

Looks like Rhino Shield will be shipping case and screen protector for the 6p starting in January. They are pricey however...$24.99 for each. Anyone have experience with Rhino products and can tell us if they are worth the premium?

They are AWESOME, and I consider it a major selling point for any phone that this bumper is available for. So glad it is coming to my Nexus 6P. But with that said, I am not a fan of any screen protector so I just ordered the bumper. Hopefully I won't drop it face down on a sharp rock. (c;

Never had one, just bought one, opted for the Project S. It was only $10 more bucks. I figured when they announce in december how great project s is, i will already have my order in for it

It is explained on the page in the product details. It is protection for the back. Some sort of skin I am guessing.

Yeah I figured that much out as well.. I was just seeing if anyone had an inside scoop on the details of the back protector lol

Does anyone know how much bulk this adds to the phone? From the YouTube videos I saw it seems like its quite bulky.

I was really hoping that the dark blue would be available for preorder but was let down. Emailed them and asked them if there were any future plans on dark blue or any other colors. So there is some good news for people holding out from buying because of color.

Looks like pre-orders are now shipping on the 15th according to their website. Original date was the 10th. Not that 5 days is a big deal but why not under promise and over preform? Why not say the pre-order ship date is "X" and then ship them sooner? It just makes for a better experience for the customer. I know it's not a huge deal but little things matter.

Cancelled my order as my speck candyshell got delivered early.... Plus didn't really like the project s... Concept that they introduced... Would buy a case like playproof

They just said this on Facebook:
The shipping date has not been confirmed just yet but it should be this week, and the latest will be beginning of next week. We are running the final testing, to make sure the bumper will perform properly, as you know our bumper is not just any ordinary nexus case; it offer significant impact protection function. We are at the last stage of stress test, so please bear with us.

They still haven't confirmed exactly what Project S is. I know it is something with Dbrand. But they aren't really confirming it is just a Dbrand skin. If it is, that would be ridiculous.

Sorry to disappoint, but I pre-ordered the Crash Guard so I also receive e-mail updates. Project S is, indeed, just a black dbrand vinyl skin. As soon as I found out, I e-mailed Evolutive Labs asking for Project S to be removed from my preorder. Still interested in checking out the Crash Guard, even though I'm plenty happy with my Speck Candyshell, and I've got a Cover Up wood case pre-ordered as well.
They said that they're working on alternatives to the dbrand skin, but they wouldn't have been ready in time for the launch of the Crash Guard, so Project S (as it stands right now) is really just a stop-gap measure.

They also changed the date of the preorder. Was January 10th now it is January 15th

Dbrand & Slickwrap Skins Availability

I checked Dbrand website and it says that skins are available for preorder but I did not see when they would be released. I also checked out Slickwraps and was able to order one about 4 days ago but it is still processing. I have used both skins and like both of them but didn't know when Dbrand and Slickwrap skins were shipping out. Didn't know if anyone here knew when they might be released.
Edit: Also if anyone has already purchased some I would be very interested in seeing how it looks on your Pixel. I ordered the Hemp skin from Slickwraps but also thinking about ordering the orange carbon from Dbrand.

Which one did you order from Dbrand?

I ordered a naked one with the coloured Gs from Slickwraps last Thursday but I don't think I've had a dispatch email yet.

I ordered a Naked skin from SlickWraps on the 11th and I still haven't received a shipping notification... two business days my ass...
Edit: According to the product page's Q&A, SlickWraps isn't shipping these until the end of this week, even though they've shown as in-stock since being listed originally:
This is the only place I've seen them address the delays; they're ghosting people everywhere else. Presumably, they answered because they didn't want this question lingering and preventing future sales.

They responded to a tweet the other day saying the were finalising the fit.

I have been holding off on pre-ordering (dbrand) and waiting for them to be available and see some YouTube reviews on it (installed).
They look good especially the late to release Marble skin version.

I am still processing from @slickwraps. Ordered on 10/18. I tried contacting them by Twitter a few days ago but haven't received a response. I am hoping that they post an update on when they will ship out. Kinda sucks though because I really hate cases but I am currently using a Tech21 case from Verizon just because I am afraid that I am going to break the back glass. I will order from dbrand if they ship out before.

I asked dbrand directly when they would be shipping their skins. Their answer was "shortly, stay tuned to social media"...

Ordered a case from @slickwraps on 10/16 got a response that my case was stuck in pre-processing and will be shipped out soon. Its now Tuesday and haven't heard anything back yet.

I just received an email from @slickwraps saying that my order was complete. They also provided me with a tracking number from Fedex. I will update when I actually receive it and also post pictures of it installed. I also ordered from dbrands today because I was losing hope in slickwraps. I kinda went crazy and order 3 of them from dbrand. I really like the orange one. Kinda different.

Thanks for the update. I'll have to place an order tomorrow, DBrand hadn't even bothered to message me back plus SW is in the states I think so definitely quicker shipping.

dbrand phone skins?

Has anyone used the dBrand phone skins before? I had never heard of them prior to seeing them in another forum. The back skin is the only part that interests me to try and keep down the fingerprints but still show the phone.

it was perfect on my Nexus 6P and not that perfect for oneplus 5.
I guess Essential will be one of the easiest skins to apply .. I'll get one.

Well I just ordered one. Figure it's inexpensive enough to give it a shot.

I'm seriously thinking about putting some skateboard deck tape strips on mine. I ordered the dbrand matte black back cover, might put the skateboard tape on it. It's a beautifully built phone, but Damn it is slippery!!

I ordered the matte black and hyperblack titanium back on 8/23. Still no word on shipping though. They're definitely quality. I have a zebra wood skin on my Macbook and I've had a couple different ones on my iPhone (for work).

Not yet.

I sent them an email asking about shipping dates but got no response. A couple of reviewers have shown them off so I doubt they're too far away - might be making some last-minute adjustments based on feedback from those early review shipments.

There are some carbon fiber look backs on eBay. Shipping now.
They were $6, so I decided to try them.

I heard back from dbrand. They say the skins are "in the final stage of production and will be shipping soon". Someone on reddit got a message saying they were "in the late stage of development and will be shipping within two weeks" about a week ago too. Seems like we're on track to get them mid-month.

I sent dbrand an email last week asking about shipping. I bought a matte black and a black titanium or whatever skin... I'm pretty **** at putting them on and I expect the first one to get ruined anyway. The one phone I ever used a skin on was an LG G2 and I ripped it off within 4 hours... putting the phone in and out of my pocket caused it to start to peel up. Hopefully this one will be better since its a flat surface.

I received my sopiguard skin from Amazon, fits great, many colors, the matte black adds a great texture

Just a sticker that is applied to front and/or back of the phone.
I'm not fond of skins but I'll try anything that'll stop my phone from being such a fingerprint magnet. I do have one on order but tempted to try one of those sopiguard skins.

They look great.
I have a carbon fiber skin from them. Cut is perfect.

Not a fan of the matte black from Sopi but it'll do until I get a case. My dBrands feel much better though I've never tried their 3M matte black. The Sopi ones are 3M wrap film series 1080. Not sure what dBrand uses.
