Hi,
i got a HD2 which i also use in my car without hands-free kit. If there is an incoming call which i would like to answer i have to click to take the call, then slide down and click again to activate the speakers.
This is not very comfortable and there is a more or less time delay betwenn taking the call and actually hearing you opponent.
Is there any possibility to take a call with directly activating the speakers? Something like car-mode or a simple app that allows to take calls with activating the speakers.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, same problem for me.
Ok. Just found this in HTC Offcial Webpage.
"Switch between Speakerphone and earpiece during a call
Tap the Speaker icon on the Call Status screen, press and hold the Send Call button, or simply turn the device facedown"
Don't make phonecalls while your driving without handsfree-kit.
But if you do, read manual, the answere is in it.
In Vito Audio Notes Touch 1.03 Settings you can activate Speakerphone. But all incoming calls will open on speaker.
@ReneD70: Sure, you should avoid making phonecalls while driving but if there would be a way to answer calls with activated speakers this would be like a hands-free kit because there would be only one click on the phone.
I checked the manual but the only thing i found is how i can activate the speakers during a phone call like Quack2 allready posted. I didn't find something how about taking a call with speakers activated.
This cable will do what you want
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=638007
On top of all the other things this cable does, it also forces the call to be taken through the speakerphone on pickup

in and on the cooked roms if u answer the call and face the device on its face will auto activate the speaker with out the push of a button or slider
I love that you called the person ringing you your 'opponent'.
made me giggle
@ldx00: thanks for that link but this is not the best solution for me i think because i don't realy want to plug in a cable every time i enter the car.
@wingtytn: I don't have a cooked rom installed on my hd2. I got the original rom installed so i don't have this "feature". So this is not a solution for me too.
@madewokherd: Ok opponent may be not the best word for that
The best solution for me would be a second button to answer the call or a little app which causes the phone to activate the speakers when answering the call if this app is running. How can this be done? Would be great if someone could write such a hack or app.
automatic on speaker

with this app you can have a incomming call automatic on speaker, turn the app on iff you going to drive, turn it of if you dont go driving.
Thanks sitaniace for pointing this program out. Actually I found a newer version - 1.06 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369399
@mydom
I see, I always plug in in the car to keep the screen active, but if you don't, I see this is a problem. However, I also have a program called audioroute which I used to route the sound to the earpiece speaker when using skype (it defaults to external speaker). You can use the program to route all your sound to any output (earpiece, back speaker or headphones). If you search the forum you should be able to find it

Is there any way to change the default "headset" when answering a call?
As it is now, when I answer my phone in the car, it uses the cars speakers and microphone. I would like to default it to just use the phone when I answer the call. I can switch it to the phone or speakerphone as soon as I answer but I would like it to default to the phone. I know I can just disable the "headset" feature but then, correct me if I'm wrong, it won't mute the music on the stereo.
Sorry... I put this in the wrong place and don't know how to move it. Too many tabs with XDA open.
I like the ability to answer a call on my watch, but it gets annoying when not in an area where that is beneficial. It defaults to answer on the watch regardless if i answer on the watch or handset. Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way to disable it from automatically going to the watch every time.

If my watch is connected to my phone via Bluetooth, then the watch will vibrate when there is a call, sms, email...and that is normal. If I use my watch as standalone device and don't want to be disturbed, the I put it into DND(do not disturb mode).
Sounds like yours is working properly. I'm sure it's a setting or something but mine wasn't doing that. Always answers on watch. No matter what. I don't mean button... I mean audio comes from watch when I'm holding my phone to my ear.

This happens to me also, Nexus 5x with Gear S2 3g. It happens when answering a phone call on the phone, following a phone call answered from the watch. After the initial unintentional watch speakerphone occurrence my phone will function properly until the watch is used to answer the next call. Then the process starts over again. The watch needs to only play the audio if I answer the call on it but apparently it defaults to the last device used for audio when calls come in. At least the audio will stay coming out the phone until the watch is used again to answer a call. Very annoying...
Hi all,
I am having an issue with my Galaxy S6 Edge+ with Bluetooth forcing the speakerphone when I am making a call and driving. This has just starting occurring since the Nougat update. If someone calls me I can still answer from the head unit and the Bluetooth works perfectly. The issue is when I make a call and press the steering wheel Bluetooth button. When I do this and say the name of the person to call I get the voice command saying "Calling so and so mobile...ON SPEAKERPHONE". It says it's calling the person but then says ON SPEAKERPHONE.
What is interesting is I played around with different settings, reset my phone, unpaired and repaired, and still the same issue since the Nougat Update. But what is interesting is that I found if I make a call while my screen is active (screen is on), and I make the same Bluetooth call, I can see the google voice icon pop up on my phone, the call is made CORRECTLY, through Bluetooth. However, if my screen is off and I make the call, it ALWAYS reverts to speakerphone. So as long as I touch my phone to make the screen active for 5 or 10 seconds or whatever I have the screen set to, as long as the screen is on the Bluetooth always performs correctly. I can not figure out how to prevent the speakerphone from being the primary source when the phone screen is off and I make a Bluetooth outbound call.
Again, if someone calls me, it doesn't matter if my phone is locked, screen is off or on, the Bluetooth always works fine. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Seems to me that the wakelock for Bluetooth calling is set to be inactive while screen is off. See if you can find that wakelock or some other wakelock that would disable Bluetooth calling and switch it so that screen off does not interfere.

@ droidriven, thank you for your reply. I have never heard of wake lock before, is this an option within settings on my Galaxy S6 Edge+? I never had this issue with prior OS's but with Nougat this issue immediately became present. If you could lead me in the right direction where I might find the wake lock setting for Bluetooth, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you again.
it looks like you are on to something. I checked this again and anytime I make a call via Bluetooth voice command and where my screen is off, I hear the automated voice command say calling so and so....on speakerphone....but when it says this, the screen stays locked and does not activate on the voice/Bluetooth command to call. I am using google voice and see no settings for wake lock or anything similar but I have pinned this down to anytime the screen is off, the voice command/Bluetooth always go to speaker phone. If someone calls me, it always works correctly, but that is because when someone calls me, my screen automatically engages/turns on.
Anyone else have this issue? It's definitely a problem and dangerous to have to grab my phone to turn it on or unlock it before making a voice/Bluetooth call. Any help to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Go to PlayStore and do a search for:
Wakelock Detector
Wakelock are system processes and don't have a "setting" to manage them.
Use this app to find the running wakelocks, if you track it down you can then look for a way to manage it the way you need it to work. It works with root and without, instructions for without root are in the link.

Droidriven,
I have a little more info on this issue. I did more research and realized somehow my "S VOICE" app was disabled so I enabled it and right away this issue was fixed! With S VOICE enabled, anytime I use the voice recognition button to make a call the screen on my phone immediately activates and the call works without going to speaker phone. With S Voice I can at least use the voice recognition button to make a Bluetooth call while driving and not have to worry about the call going to speakerphone.
The only issue I have noticed is it appears S VOICE isn't as accurate as google voice and google voice worked perfectly for me before the Nougat update. Now that I've isolated this issue to google voice where the screen will not activate when using the voice recognition button on my steering wheel to make a Bluetooth call and which causes all calls to go to speakerphone.....is this still something this wakelock detector may fix? My phone is not rooted and I have downloaded the non-rooted version of wakelock detector, I just don't know if it's going to help or not. It's odd that google voice worked fine prior to the Nougat update, whether my screen was off or locked when using Bluetooth and now all of a sudden this issue is present.
Any suggestions on this now that we know it's only google voice that has the problem and not S VOICE?

According to this and many other links I checked out, this is a common issue due to G Voice and S Voice incompatibility.

I'm having trouble with my speakerphone. It works fine if I turn it on touching the screen while calling but that's not the problem. The problem is doing it without touching the phone. Tried doing it in different ways and always failed:
1. Tasker can't control my speakerphone. Tried automating a call so that was always on speakerphone ON, Didnt work.
I know it's something wrong with the phone since all other Tasker automated profiles are working fine.
2. Another symptom: Wear speaker (which is an app for Android Wear that does exactly that - turning speaker ON automatically when answering a call) also doesn't work.
3. And another thing: Voice answering also doesn't work. Call rings, but neither "answer call" nor "reject call" voice command do a thing. At one time that DID work, but ONLY when phone wasn't in silent mode - when the call ringing was silent or on vibrate it would not work. So one day I let it ring on silent and enter quick toggles (while silently "ringing") and turned on sound hoping it would than accept voice commands( answer or reject), but I did exactly the opposite. Since than it doesn't work AT ALL (silent, vibrate or not).
Edit: In safe mode "accept call" works, but again, only when not in silent mode
Non rooted Huawei Mate 9. Emui 5.0. Anroid 7.0
Hope I made myself clear. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks
Trie Tasker too, my phone is rooted. Tasker works but not with speakerphone.
And I just noticed I cant boot into safemode. Holding volume down while booting did nothing. Tried 5 or 6 times.
Edit: I did manage to enter safemode. The trick is to wait untill the blue screen animation to press volume down, not sooner
Nobody can help me? I would be extremely happy if somebody could just confirm that Tasker Action: Speakerphone ON works or doesn't work on their Huawei Mate 9.
Please!!! Anybody?!? ;(
I confirmed, it does NOT work!

That is extremely disappointing. Is that something Huawei is aware of? Do they intend to fix this. It's incredibly stupid to have to touch the phone to enable speakerphone. If I have to touch it than I may as well bring it to my ear, I dont get it. I can imagine countless scenarios where for me, this is a must have feature. All the other phones I had in the past were able to work that way, I may have to change phones if I dont find a workaround of some kind
I really have no idea. In my wonderful world this had to be a feature since the beginning of calling phones smart. Cant imagine why this isnt state of the art.
Everything working fine for me.
Did you try to set up this in settings?
The settings option only disables speakerphone when putting phone to the head. What we are looking for is the automatic activation of the speaker.
Yes, automatic activation of speaker when you answer the call with "answer the call" , voice comand
