PS4 controller OTG not working - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Phone Details:
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+
Model: SM-G928I
Unrooted (default rom)
Android 6.0.1 (updated via the phone after)
Issue:
Recently tried to play some emulated N64 games using a PS4 controller and the Bluetooth connection was laggy with a delay. I bought a controller attachment to mount my phone to the controller and a micro usb to micro usb OTG cable. I have tried plugging the phone into the PS4 controller and there seems to be no connection or control (pressed all the buttons and nothing happened). I have tried the bluetooth reconnection methods to work around the delays, I would prefer to get the cable method working for delay-less control, and it uses less power than Bluetooth.
Any help to get the cable method working?

Otg cables are notoriously fiddly, it could possibly be the cable, try another cable and if you're going to buy another don't buy a cheap one

Note pro 12.2 with wired XBox360 controller?

Hi all
I have a Note Pro SM-P900 with Android 5.0.2 rooted.
How does one get an Xbox wired controller to work?
I connect it with an OTC USB cable. The light (ring) on the controller blinks, but the controller does not get recognized. The app "gamepad test" does not react to pressing the buttons.
The OTC cable works fine with a 8GB memory stick.
The controller works fine with a PC.
Any suggestions are super welcome. Thanks.

I remember doing this with a tab 3, but I had to get drivers on there somehow, I'll be at work in a bit and see if I'm able to find the old link.

Z5 and Dualshock 4 - Input lag help

I've connected my DS4 to my Z5 using bluetooth and there is noticable input lag. Is there anyway to fix this?
Would a cabled connection help (or even work)?
Couple of things to make sure:
- PS4 is hard wired to router
- Direct Connect is off
On Z5 experiment with:
- 5ghz vs 2.4ghz
- turn off location services when playing.
Not playing PS4 games, just games on the device itself.
More specifics about the problem? Is the lag immediately noticeable after pairing the phone with the controller, or like ~30 seconds after?
A USB cable would eliminate the lag, but you'd have to try it out yourself to see if it works (you'll need a Micro USB Male to Micro USB Male cable).
You may want to try the "Bluetooth Auto Connect" app on the Play Store and trying out some settings. It's reportedly helped other phones just by using it to connect (you may need to try connecting to it a few times). I can't say how it will work with the Xperia though.
Downloaded the app you recommended, what settings might suggest to reduce lag? Can I play wired using a Micro USB male-to-male cable?
Have you found any solution? I have a xz1 compact on Android 9 and I have the same problem - dualshock4 v2 connects with no issue but works with terrible lag, missclicks... The same controller Works like charm on my other old devices by both bluetooth and cable. Cable solution doesnt work with my xz1c... How can it be even possible? Some incredible negligence from Sony's side... Such a shame...

It's definitely the downside of xz1c , no otg for connecting ds4 and no way to fix input lag from bluetooth ..

Wireless Controller Problem

Hello.
For the last two days I have been trying to make my OMEGA Wireless Gamepad (a copy of the PS Dual Shock controller) work on my Galaxy J7 2016 (6.0.1).
It connects to the phone through Bluetooth as a input device no problem but it won't work further than just that.
I even rooted the phone to try some stuff out but to no avail.
It stays connected but none of the buttons do anything (not in phone menu, not in PPSSPP, not in a bunch of keymapper aps).
So I was wondering is there a way to get this fixed without me having to buy an Micro USB to USB Adapter and trying that out.
Thanks for reading.
