Hey. I guess some will call me noob but i searched alot how to backup my erisin firmware. Erisin does not file the firmwares nicely as joying does. In the recovery menu there is no option to save a backup. I searched all the internals for some update file but there is none. Does that mean that there is no way of going back after i flashed a custom rom?

Depending what type of Erisin you have, need to have the right update files copy on the SD card (usually this must be put in the GPS card) and flash it ... sometime this can be take automatically from the card when device has Starting update (with the android picture) but can be wip from the android menu ... I recommend you to ask the seller about to help you with instructions and the right default files ... don't forgot that you will need to set again all the right settings and install the applications from the beginning because you will have the factory default after flashing ...
Best regards,

I asked Erisin for the latest firmware version and they sent it to me without problem, I don't know if it will be the same for you, I can pass you the link, but you can ask Erisin for it.
What model is it?

hi all. i just purchased a Ployer Momo8 tablet and it came with Android 4.0 and ICS. i really like the tablet, especially for the extremely low price of $150. my question is, does anyone know of any custom ROMS for this tablet, because it needs serious optimization. especially considering that i have an rooted EVO running a Team Nocturnal ROM fully loaded, so my EVO runs circles around this tablet. i've searched google for custom ROMS for this tablet, but come up with nothing, especially for the 4.0.
Thanks all.
I have this tablet, really nice tablet. A lot of us have downgraded back to 2.3.4 everything seems to work on gingerbread.
I haven't seen any roms, I did put together a recovery for 2.3.4 version. Momo9 seems to have a lot going for it, that's an 7" version of this tablet.
Anyway good luck

how do i downgrade to 2.3? does anyone have the stuff necessary to perform the downgrade with some instruction? i've never downgraded before, only upgraded. i'm sick and tired of the force closes on 4.0.
Here is a custom rom, I made a few changes to it so it can be installed on momo8 via my recovery.
http://bit.ly/ykpLXn
Before you install make sure you back up your data and system via my recovery.
once they are backed up place this zip in the zip folder on your sdcard.
if you created directories you should find on your sdcard a folder called momo8, inside that folder are three more folders. backup, updates, zip
this goes in zip folder.
you need to go to advanced options select wipe system, then you can install zip you would need to press home to go back to main screen from there choice install zip follow onscreen instructions. as with backing up wait a bit after zip is installed before pressing home to go to main screen.
If you want to wipe your data, you can do that as well, you would need to wipe data first before wiping system or come back after you installed zip then wipe data.
the custom rom came from this thread.

issues with tablet
First off, I just bought this thing and it is PAINFULLY slow. After doing some research, I have decided I want to downgrade it to 2.3.4 however, I believe that a lot of folks posting tutorials do not use english as their first language. That said, I downloaded this phoenixprousb, which is definately not in english, and it requires an img and a key. I managed to find a fresh IMG, but no one seems to mention anything about a key.
Does anyone know anything about what they mean by .key and is there an easier better way to do this? The only tutorial I can find requires a .key which they dont include.

Try flashing a clean original 2.3.4. from Ployer site. Use google translator to find download section and type MOMO8A to find the right firmware. It works perfectly on my tab.
Hi guys, i haven't found any MOMO8 theards, so I have to ask here.
I have flashed firmware for LY-F1,but now I can't flash MOMO8 firmware back.
I have tried LiveSuit, all the Phoenix tools but no luck.

Hi,

I tried to load the firmware Finless 18 with a single zip file that have system.img compressed.
I have see more post in this site with a procedure for unbrick with use a reset pin but in my PBC board don't have a reset as a youtube guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dlQkaDcgSY
Can you help me please?

I would like to follow your advice but I can not update the device. Does not make me load a firmware of any kind. I would like some advice on how to make at least a firmware reload and restart it.
Hi, I want to use Malaysk ROM but I've seen an advice at JOYING https://www.carjoying.com/Joying-blog/42.html about damaging the unit.....searching in the forum I understand that the problems only affects the MTCB units....Am I right?
Thanks.
Yes, if you have an mtcd unit, you should not worry about this. The custom ROM does not damage anything.
Its a blanket statement for those that do not know what they are doing. Too many people have tried loading the MTCD ROM on a MTCB device which results in bricking it. If you follow the instructions you won't have any trouble.
Hi!, thanks for the imputs....I was worried about damaging my unit...now I'm ready to put Malaysk on my car

More likely the other way around. Trying to install MTCB sysimage on an MTCD. This was happening before there were any customized sysimages available for MTCD.
One stupid question.....Could I flash the stock ROM after trying Malaysk ROM if I decide to go back? I mean if it wont be a problem due Malayks re-partiioning process......
Thanks !

Yes you can. I Installed around 10 different roms versions on my MTCD unit , including 2-3 Malaysk going back-forth between different roms. No problem. I found that the fastest / easiest way to flash is to reboot in recovery and dont bother use the Settings menu update option at all.
I even flashed another RK3188 device's kernel (unpacked rom, swapped kernel and repack) and got away with it lol, I could'nt see the screen anymore but I managed to enter recovery and use the good button combination without the screen.
XD XD XD, woops a screen blackout.....that's scary
Flashed the Malaysk ROM and I like it, need more time time to test the ROM. One thing I like so much is the CarMod Launcher.....BTW, I've try to find the CardMod launcher at the Google Play and over Internet but I can't find the page ...Any idea?
Thanks again
I forgot to ask one more thing..... I've noticed that in the ROM is included the xposed framework, I was reading a few days ago about xposed and as far as I know it's not working....Am I wrong?
Hi, developers and users of mtcd units... I'm looking to change the recovery of my HU (mtcd_mx) with TWRP recovery and I dont konw if TWRP supports our MTCD units.
I'm interesting for this recovery because with this I can do a full backup of HU, and I want to keep my hu safe. I have experienced TWRP on my phone and this kind of recovery it's a big deal...
So is there a twrp support for mtcd?
Thx!
I miss it too, but I don't think there's a compatible version for our HU
Yeah...
Right now I finished and sent a letter(mail) to TWRP team, to have mercy for us and start/extend in future their project on any kind of HeadUnit(MTCB/C/D)... Maybe someone will read my words and maybe we hear good news!

I'm hoping for TWRP too. This would make things easy.
I have come across some older versions of TWRP for these similar units, but I do not know if they are still compatible. I believe there was a TWRP 2.7 I saw but this was back in 2014.
I imagine since the hardware is still basically the same, if we had the proper memory locations and the driver source was still the same it would not be too difficult to compile a credible version.
EDIT:
I came across these guys, they were pretty deep with this stuff, granted there have been some changes since 2014, but they seem to know these systems very well.

Its been done before on MTCB/C units (theres a thread about it in the MTCB forums), every time you want to flash an MCU you have to re-flash the std recovery so pretty pointless. To make TWRP compatible youd have to have a fair bit of knowledge about the STMicroelectronics MCU these devices use and I dpobt anyone at TWRP has that.
I´m working in a trwp version based on twrp from h**ttps://github.com/Magendanz/android_device_rockchip and already get to boot twrp in my device (mtcd-xrc px3) with android 7.1.2 but can't get to mount partitions from internal memory.
Any help it will be apreciated.

You realise if you get it working you wont be able to flash MCUs ? Youd have to reflash the original recovery to flash them.

Ok, cool.
Personally I cant see the benefit of TWRP on these units, dont get me wrong, I use TWRP on my phone, just cant see the point here, thats just my opinion though.
Finally I got to work. After doing a lot of testing on the twrp.fstab file it worked fine.
If anyone is interested in how I got it, just ask. Now I will try also in a mtcc-kld6 unit.
Hello,
if I have root access, can I back up the complete firmware/all the partitions in such a way, that even after eg. an automatic update where I lost root access I could go back to the unlocked state?
WEB OS Firmware back up

No, not yet. Since my device is working, I will try to use something like this (Google "SOIC8+SOP8+Test+Clip+Socket+Adapter") to try to extract it directly. Have not checked my board yet what kind of EEPROM it has though, and I will have to find out which software to use to read and write.
I could use dd to create images of all partitions while root, but the problem would be, how to write them back.

No, your TV will not work with my OS. Sorry you had the impression, I was referring to the technical aspects of firmware extraction.

How does one modify the firmware?
Mine seems to have lost the location info and thus nothing else works. So I believe if i fix this everything else will work. The Infa red does not work thought the magic remote works fine.
