So been seeing on a few sites, that believe the Idol 3 will get a Nougat upgrade. I'm not holding my breath, It took them abit to get MM out, which I love. So what do you guys think?? Will Alcatel give the Idol 3 another upgrade, or is MM the end of the line for us??
i think ALCATEL will not update the idol 3 to Nougat...but We will get CM 14 soon....

did you give them mm source for idol 3?
the devs that work on our idol 3 would love to work on MM and have tried to port with little success from what i gather. Once we get a proper "official" MM update for our idol 3 then watch as the new MM roms pour in. Until there is something official dont expect anything higher than Android 5.1.1

You are both correct and incorrect.
Some Zenfone 3 can be rooted but not all versions.
Thanks to Asus's insanity for giving the same name to phones with different hardware and software, you can't make a blanket statement about the Zenfone 3 and cover all the models (outside of they all are phones and sold under the Asus brand). The ZE versions are indeed rootable but the ZC versions are hit and miss.
For ZC551KL too, its a low budget phone and the only alternative to Huawei/Honor in canada. STOP MAKING CNM ROMS ONLY FOR BOURGEOIS' PHONE.
Same same here, please help us. Last update simbricked the phone! They released a downgrade and now no more update.
Asus makes great phones with ****ty software. Great opportunity as a side dish to be the frst one ever to release a rom!
Please cyanogen team, we have no viable alternative as vanilla rom is crap.

I have the ZE520KL version. But I'm not able to root it. Su tells me to update binary but it fail. I unlocked the boot loader and flashed the twrp recovery. Then flashed the root files with su. Have I missed some necessary step?
Would be nice if someone can help. Cause I really want xposed back on my new phone.

The HTC One A9 is supposed to get nougat by the first quarter of this year. In other words it's coming should be very soon

Hey Sanjay! I am Vivek. I live in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Did you really got the official OTA for Nougat? I bought my 6x like 3 weeks back. I read that a lot of people have manually flashed the update from Firmware Finder and ended up having many problems. I didnt wanted to take any risk and was waiting for the OTA.
I am shocked and happy to know that someone from my country has already got the OTA. So I guess, I will be getting it soon too right?

Hey vivek , I did not manually update my phone and I am sure its not beta either , because I am not registered for their beta program . So , you can expect the official OTA soon.

Alcatel hardly updates their phones (even the flagships).

Thanks for your answer, so Alcatel never Even updates their phones to receive patches such as the bluebourne exploit that was discovered a few weeks ago, even LG updates their own phones even the K8 gets the patch and that phone never receives updates
