The S7, great as it is, stil uses the SD card for some things. For example, for multi shot photos. But also some apps (Sony Playmemories...) do not allow one to select the SD card to store the imported pictures.
I found "Redirect Pro" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tobino.redirectsfree). That would probably do what I want (move files from folder on internal SD automatically to folder on SD card), except I also cannot select the SD card in that app as a destination.
So... what am I doing wrong? Does anyone have a working solution?
If you have a root S7 install xposed installer and the XinternalSD modules. All the best!

Hi folks! I want to share a possible fix that i found for issues like: Spotify cant store on SD card, other apps cant use or save in SD card, you cant create/delete/manage a folder inside Android/data or obb in SD card, and others.
1. Flash your rom, stock or CM (with or without gapps).
2. Install SuperSU if rom doesnt have (using 2.68 beta here).
3. Enable root for apps (also I enabled for ADB and App).
4. Install FX Explorer + FX Root Addon (disponible in Play Store).
5. Open your SD Card Storage in FX.
6a. Look for a option in "..." called "Enable Write Access" and enable it.
6b. If your ROM comes with it enabled, disable and enable again (AICP comes enabled but doesnt work).
7. Your SD Card is OK to be used by other apps. You can, for example, install Spotify now and the app will download content in your external SD.
I tested this thing in many roms, like AICP (using it by now), crDroid, the Squid's CM13, Blizz and Motorola Stock 6.0. Worked flawless with all.
Obs: Sorry for bad english
Spotify can store on SD card since version 4.8 - if you have the removable storage set under the 6.0+ Stock/ROM. Screenshot of the option.

Hello. I had a Note 4 (with Android 5.1.1) and my SD card worked well. In my S7, this card is read-only, which is quite annoying for Titanium Backup. I tested with 2 others cards, formatted by the S7 in exFat, and the issue is still there. Am i the only one ? Is there any software solution like SD Fix for Android 4 ?
Thanks.
+1 here as well.
Cant modify any files in sd storage nor sd card in my S7.
Help please.

From my understanding, The app being used should be updated by the developer to be able to use the android feature to ask for permission to access SD card for editing, deleting. Incase the app has not been uodated by the developer it will fail to access the sd card for writing. Once a new app is installed and run, it shall ask for permission to access, which should be granted. Atleast this is what has happened with me, but the apps which are not updated since few months back are not able to access the sd card.
Hello guys, after a bootloop i flashed my stock rom (xperia zr)
i wanted to know most of my apps were on external sdcard so is there any way to find out where are the apps on sd so that i can just remove the folder and free up space as its un readable now.

I was wondering if anyone has been able to mount their SD card as internal (adoptable) storage on 7.0 (Nougat) and moved WhatsApp so the media folder is on the SD card?
I want to do this cause the S7 only has 32 GB of internal storage and I get so many pictures/videos in WhatsApp that every day I have to delete media off the internal storage.
I tried that developer mode option to allow all apps to move to SD and that let me move the WhatsApp app to SD but it kept the media folder on the internal storage.

Found a solution myself
Another alternative to consider is an Xposed module called XInternalSD. Provided your S7 has root access and you've flashed the latest unofficial Xposed Framework compatible with Nougat, you'll be able to install apps like WhatsApp onto your SD card with ease, as well as store the .obb files of games. However, at the present time having Xposed Framework installed means that your phone will not pass Google SafetyNet, thus you'll lose access to Android Pay and the ability to download certain apps from the Play Store e.g. Super Mario Run & Fire Emblem Heroes. Magisk is currently unable to hide the presence of Xposed.

Maybe because your phone doesn't have a sd card u need a sd card for the phone
Not all phones have a sd card
If you're phone doesn't support for a sd card than it's just not possible

Well most apps really can't be moved to external SD-card. Only a few can.
BTW:
The mentioned Link2SD app - as it name implies - simply creates in Android OS's file tree links ( read: shortcut in Windows OS terminology ) to apps / their data what are located on external SD-card. This only will work if the external SD-card has two partitions (at least): one partition works as a regular external storage on SD-card, for pictures, music, etc.pp, the second partition ( must be ext4 formatted ) would work as the "extended real memory" or, the virtual memory, where "externally installed apps" are housed.
Since Android 6 this technique is part of Android OS: it's called Adoptable Storage.
