Does the p9 lite really need tempered glass? Because I had to remove the standard one bcs of a bubble and getting it back on without bubbles is impossible. It has regular glass but so did my old Core 2 and it didnt break anytime it fell.
I never used anything like glass on any phone. But now first time bought phne for 300 dollars so I payed 20 dollars for silicon back and flexible glass 3mk on front and Im realy calm. I suggest to buy it just for your comfort,to not worry

Ordered it,the Nillkin Nature case and a 16GB MicroSD card. They should all arrive in 2 weeks,I will make a detailed reply with pictures once I get my hands on them.

Okay,the 3mk glass arrived in a short time. It took 3 days for it to arrive on the cheapest shipping,and it cost me 14.4 € in total.
The glass came in a really protective package(a big-ish air bubble bag and a cardboard box) and the tempered glass package looks stunning as well(I had to spit out 14€ for it,it had to be good...).
The glass is a PERFECT fit,you can't notice it on the edges of the screen(it can only be seen around the sensors). I kid you not,it is a perfectly precise fit.
Oh,and NO BUBBLES!
Here are some pictures.
Yaaa looks awesome. I had small point on the edge 0,5mm/0,5mm where it is not perfectly put on but dont care. So to finish this 3mk flexible/hybrid glass fits perfectly, easy to put on and we are recommending this one instead of trying some new inventions
Also there something like 3d flexible glass so you have there a comlete protection with edges, curves and everything just with glass for 20 dollars but I didnt check how it works as bought back cover

I think that one couldn't ship to Croatia.
The link I used was of a reseller.
But my Nillkin Nature case(ultra thin and even has a protective cover for the micro USB slot,maybe for the audio jack too) should be arriving this or next week. It will definitely do.
Again,the 3mk glass blew my mind,I am embarassed to be this happy about a phone accessory . It did cost a lot,but this one is actually worth it. For 27$ I have a full package(excellent tempered glass,an excellent case and a 16GB MicroSD card)
Update: I wouldn't recommend not having a screenprotector. After millions of drops with a case the screen recently got some cracks.
Sent from my Huawei P9 Lite using XDA Labs
I've had 3mk flexible glass on my p9 lite, but after drop from about 40cm my screen was looked like "spiderman edition" :silly: After repair I've decided to use tempered glass only

Is this screen protector the "rubbery" soft gel type? It looks like it has the "self heal" advertisement, so it's probably not the hard type right?
I would say it is soft, are you worried about finger drag like with the zagg invisible shields have, though i have read the Skinomi protectors are OK, non or little drag, i will have to wait till i get my Xtremeguard to find out.

Yep. I used to have full body kit from best skins or something for my iphone 4. I hated the orange peel effect and the resistance when swiping.
Yeah, same with me, i will not buy another zagg until i hear they have fixed the problems, for the price of the Xtremeguard i will take the chance.

How's the quality on these?
i had it just for my s4 back... at first quite alot bubbles... after i woke up, most of them r gone left the stubborn ones.... if not its almost perfect
I've been using these on all my devices. I had an HTC thunderbolt, a nexus tab, and a S4. My original S4 had a USB port that died, so I was given a new one a few weeks back. I am currently in the process of getting more.
They do add a bit of that soft rubbery feeling. It's not game breaking though. You won't notice after so long. Coming back to the bare gorilla glass of the S4 feels too sensitive and resistance free. I also feels it smudges easier this way too.
The extremeguard protectors I have on my tbolt and nexus (applied sometime in mid 2012) are still there. The bubbles really do go away given time, and neither guard shows any scrapes or cuts...lord knows between moving, a 13 month old, and being my daily driver, at least one of them ought to show some battle damage.
The only ghetto thing about these things is that you have to make your own solution for the wet apply. Just add a drop of dish soap to a bowl of water. And it can be challenging to get it to set right. My advice would be to worry about placement, not bubbles. The bubbles will work out over time, but if you've got hang over from a crappy placement, you'll be annoyed for the rest of the time it's on your device.
I never took one of these off, so I can't speak to whether or not it peels of paint or finish. My backplate is from my original S4, and has an xtreme guard on if still...and I have no plans on removing it.
So...with the OP's coupon code, 2 bucks for 2 of these bad boys, plus free shipping? Yeah, that's a no brainer. Hop on it!

Hi, this is a review of the amCase Hybrid Bumper Case And amFilm Screen Protector Premium HD Clear.
I received them this week, i like the back transparency, because it lets the original S5 design show, the case has a nice fit and lets very good space to access all ports, also it feels good to the touch and has a nice grip, since the back is solid, also this make it feel like a more expensive product.

I didnt like the case because of its back. It kept giving me goosebumps....its a weird material
I'm thinking about trying this case and wondered how it fits. Also, how is the installation?
Any more info on the Screen Protector?
Recently bought another brand off Ebay and was wondering if the amFilm brand you mention is any better? The ones I got were really hard to align and just did not seem to go down right. This caused the edges of the protector not be sealed down tightly and I constantly get air bubbles in the sides and near the home button. I even payed extra for fast shipping so it was kind of expensive. The ones your talking about are cheaper and get good reviews so I am considering trying them. Did your friend happen to mention how the protectors fit? Or if he has had any problems with air bubbles?

Yes! Thanks for the help. I'll be purchasing this case whenever I get some time. One last thing, do you think this will fit most phones?
Purchased this case the other day and it's great! One of the best cases I've had.
I really want to use the phone without a case and just a tgsp.. But I am unsure how scratch resistant it is. I am about to receive a replacement phone from Google as my first had issues. What do you guys use?
Definitely get a screen protector. Just having it in my pockets caused many small screen scratches over time.
As for the phone itself, the beveled metal edges around the screen scratch and dent VERY easily. A slight accidental bump can permanently mess it up pretty badly. The back metal of the phone seems to hold up very nicely, though.
i have no screen protector or case and I wouldnt have it any other way. That being said the edges are a thinner metal then a coke can so it will nick easily
This phone is too slippery to use without a case imo. I use a Spigen Thin Fit to help with grip and I'm happy.
Always wrap your thing!
Using a slickwraps skin. It's much easier to hold without a case because it's less heavy and thinner (due to how long the phone is)
I'm using my phone absolutely naked, have insurance in case something happens to it in lieu of a case.

I feel the same way however I'd like to keep this phone looking good.. I've gone with the Rhino bumper which is thin, discreet and you can still feel the back of the phone..plus the protection is supposed to be amazing.
The only problem I have now is that the case looks good too so I want to protect that now lol.
30 dollars with shipping, I'm in the UK and it came in under a week. A great case.
All I have on my phone is a dbrand skin. Unfortunately, I had an issue where it dropped a short distance (6 to 12 inches) and landed on a corner and it knicked up that corner near the screen pretty good, but not enough to convince me to buy a case yet... lol Haven't had any problems with any screen scratches or any other cosmetic damages yet.

Straight from the evo labs website. No restrictions. Here within a week. I did pay p&p but that's expected. About 4 quid I think.
One thing id like to say though, the rear clearance is not 100% the very centre of the back is slightly exposed, the bumper does not offer complete clearance when you push it against a flat surface.
If you don't know what I mean.
Take your phone and slide the back of it along the edge of a surface, say a mantelpiece or a shelf and whilst the start of the case is covered, towards the middle is not..
Not the end of the world but I'd have liked the clearance, ironically, tech 21 always offers this , something to consider.

Unfortunately, my N6P is my only camera at the moment. I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice the ding from a distance, but every time I run my finger along it, I cry a little inside.
Have a good one!
I have a glass screen protector, a Dbrand black carbon fiber skin for the glass panel on the back, and carry the phone around in a FitBag pouch.
This phone is the first where i must have a case for traction, its soo slippery and i want to hold it casually and treat it like a normal phone. I bet if i had it in my pocket it will just defy gravity and just fly out, would get a skin but seeing how easy it was to bend the bezel with my finger nail, i dont want break it in the first year,
I got one of these, the thinnest case i could find.i know it wont help in a fall but it will help against wear and tear
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...ack-Cover-For-Huawei/1750180_32495581013.html
I've always rocked my phones naked. This time around I'm using a skin. Had a front back skin. Did drop it once too >_<. Thankfully it's just a small dent right above the camera visor. The skin on my phone is slippery so I ordered a more grippier one and took off the front skin because ambient display works better without it.
I have only a d brand frame for the camera.
I have glass screen protector and tried a clear thin case, but am back to no case..just the glass. No problems. I did add a little non-slip round piece to the back..it stays in my pocket just a little better, and totally stops it from sliding off a flat surface.
In and out of pocket all day, I am not real careful about keys or coins and no issues. I have done this with HTC M7,8,9 also with no problems. I hate hiding a good looking phone with an ugly case...and no case I have ever seen enhances the look.
Any one know of a transparant case that is compatible with slickwraps? Bought the galactic series but want some extra protection...
Verstuurd vanaf mijn Nexus 6P met Tapatalk
I think it needs no protector.However,my wife bought an iPely screen protector from Amazon for me.I think it feels perfect.That's great.
I was going to get the clear view case from Samsung but Best Buy didn't have any when i picked up my phone but they had the Defender Pro so i got it instead. It's pretty nice i do prefer the screenless Otterbox cases so its nice there is no plastic over it! Don't know why they brand it a Pro case it's the same as any other Defender 2 layers and comes with a holster.

It's got a antimicrobial coating on it i guess. I was looking on Otterbox.com and they aren't branded Defender Pro on there it just says Defender and they don't have the same back with the bars its just the standard back. So idk if the "pro" is a Best Buy thing or what
My local AT&T Corporate store had 10 Samsung Clear View cases on the shelf. I think it was $40.

Firstly great video, thanks.
Secondly, I never trusted cases with hard inner shells. A bit of sand or dirt will run riot on the glass back or frame edges of the device.

Buying a case from Best Buy is crazy. That should NEVER be an option. Their prices are high as isht! I saw a basic clear rubber/plastic cover on their website for $44.95. Many of their cases are the same ones sold by chinese manufacturers. They're just rebranded.

Good video. Here we are 2 years later; I just purchased this case for $17 from an ebay seller (still in its box w/ clip) for a Note 9 N9600 (International Unlocked) I bought a month ago (512gb version brand new in box still for under $500). Both the phone and case are great. The hard inner shell's inner back is cushioned w/ what amounts to a "mini-mattress." The case feels good in the hand. Only drawback is one can't see the phone's elegance... but for someone as paranoid as I am about a glass phone, that's a small loss. The screen isn't super well protected if dropped on an uneven surface where a rock sticking up or whatever could strike the screen in spite of the ridges at the case's ends. But I'm willing to risk that much; the rest of the case is great, and most surfaces I encounter are floor-like w/o rocks/uneven surfaces and the case would more than suffice.
For the Note 9 Screen check out the LOCA glue tempered glass option. It's about the clearest and best straight forward screen protector you can get for curved displays. I think it may not work with the otterbox due to the extra size protecting the curve. Personally I would stick the LOCA tempered glass on and then stick another thick flat tempered glass on top of that. It's virtually guaranteed people will crack these curved screens, and very expensive to repair them!

Thanks. The NFC not working would be the bigger problem. I don't want to try and get my note 9 out the otterbox each time at the till.

Okay folks - got the Otterbox defender today and can confirm it seems to work fine with NFC (Samsung Pay/Google pay) at local supermarket till. Also can use a wireless charger on it - but have to place the charger carefully in one spot nearly over the back cameras to work, so barely worth the effort. I can see why people rave about the case - its got a lovely grippy outer TPU skin and the screen is well protected by top and bottom lip projections . Buttons work great and ports are well protected. Makes the phone bigger but I find it easier to grip and use. I can absolutely believe it will survive any fall. This is well armored. Needs a Film protector for the screen though, I want it so keys and change will not hurt it. I fear a glass protector won't work, because its so tight and secure.
Previous phone was a Samsung Galaxy S7 in a clear TPU case. I dropped it by accident 1 & 1/2 feet off a coffee table and smugly thought 'Thank god I have it in a case not like those other idiots!'. I then picked it up and found it had hit a corner and the display had cracked a tiny bit and went permanently dark. Could not believe the phone screen was broken due to the tiny drop and being in a case.
Corner protection is essential. The Note 9 is massively protected in this. I doubt a 10 foot drop would hurt it! Well pleased with it! Even have the belt carry unit with it but doubt I will be using that. The case on its own doesn't add too much bulk and can still slip it into front trouser pocket. Being slightly heavier gives it inertia so it also hard to drop. Recommend.
A year later and this still is a great case for the Note 9.
Simply buy a cheap Loca Note 9 'tempered' glass screen protector, make sure its as perfectly positioned before exposing to UV, and the otterbox case CAN fit around it.
I have tried 2 screen protectors so far - the first piece of tempered glass was not positioned properly, I UV set it (with the sun outside) and a bit of the glass cracked off along the edges when the case was fitted (not the screen just the tempered glass protector) but it was still fine for use for months.
Because the glass protector was not positioned properly over the front camera, it didn't give me a great selfie, so I bought another loca temperted glass protector and peeled the old one off.
This time I fitted it perfectly. TOTAL PROTECTION. It's great! NFC works fine, Samsung pay, NFC tags etc....
I'm looking around for a tempered glass with decent touch responsiveness. do we know much about how well WSD will protect the screen vs other protectors? it costs quite a pretty penny. i was wondering if any of you had experience with cheaper ones that'll offer the same level of protection? this one (https://www.amazon.com/LK-Protector...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=YX5Y8Z1JQ3BMGQX5XTF8) is quite highly rated at amazon and has a fakespot rating of A. anyone tried it out?

The link you provided is a product that only has adhesive on the sides, don't waste your time there will be an air gap and the screen responsiveness will be garbage. Like you said those reviews are fake and you would be wasting your time and money if purchased. Yes the WhiteStone dome is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I have had mine installed since Launch and not a single issue, it looks and feels like there isn't even a screen protector installed. For a product that could potentially save your phone from breaking, why skimp out? Would you buy cheaper tires on your car that are much more likely to fail? No.
I do believe that the Whitestone is worth the price.
I have been using tempered glass screen protectors for a few years now and the Whitestone is much easier to install, bacause of the jig that comes with it.
I have installed the Whitestone on two Note 9s. One for the wife and mine.
The only issue I have is a minor one. It seems a bit of excess glue is around the edges and atractslint from my pocket.
The coverage and feel is awesome.
Once you buy the full kit that includes the UV light, only the replacement kit is needed for any other install or phone. The replacement kit comes with the jig, but not the UV light.
I refrained from purchasing a phon ewith a curved screen until this type of screen protector was available. I refused to deal with the ege only attached protectors.
It is a bit pricey, but I highly recommend it. After all, you are protecting a thousand dollar phone. Twice what I've ever paid for a phone.
My experience with the whitestone: It is ok if you dont mind the sharp edges when you swipe from the sides. In my case, air bubbles started to appear at the right edge. Whitestone sent me one replacement which I am trying to sell, because I don't see it working in my case.
Pros:
Clear;
Sensitive;
Warranty (although you have to pay for shipping);
Cons:
Sharp edges;
Air bubbles appear at the edges after some time, 2 months in my case;
The adhesive left exposed at the sides attracts dust/lint;
how do you get the glue off when removing? I bought a twin pack but the first is quite scratched

The glue is attached to the glass, not your phone. Once you begin peeling the screen protector off you will notice the glue is only on the screen protector and your phone is left clean.
does the whitestone dome work with the Note 9 included case? as im fairly happy with the included case for now, but i wanna get the dome screen protector if its compatible.
What is the included case? In my country there is no included case, but it is compatible with the samsung silicone case.

Oh what?! I didn't realise that. Well in Australia it comes with a clear rubber/silicone type case inside the box. I believe it's the same one samsung sell on their accessories page. So I guess it'll be compatible then, sounds like the same one you're talking about. Thanks

I think it's worth the premium. Been using it since S7 days and installed, I think 7, on friends/family phones. Killed itself for 3 displays from drops so far.

You're welcome!
A benefit of the vast research, conducted for the purchase of A Note 9 for the wife. Thru that and setting it up for her, I was so impressed that I got a Note 9 for myself. The 8/512 version, of course.
My first non rootable phone in about 6 years.
I am digging it!

I was really hesitant on spending $40 on a 2 pack of tempered glass. But after biting the bullet i couldn't be happier with the glass. It fits and feels great. Doesnt disrupt the touch sensitivity and keeps the premium feel of the phone. I hated that the cheap ones that only have adhesive on the sides and dot matrix on screen made the phone feel super cheap because it felt like you were touching a plastic screen.

be careful, however, if the phone falls and hits the glass film, it does not protect the display and breaks, it happened to me on note 8.
In other words, it protects only from the graff.

No tempered glass is going to protect your screen from cracking. It helps but doesn't prevent it if the hit/drop is right.

If you want a tempered glass screen protector then the only option that works well (IMO) is the Whitestone Dome. The issue is (and I've tried many times) with Whitestone Dome is that the sides of your screen protector may get tiny bubbles even after you think the install was perfect. Mine showed up after a day and spread to the enter left and right side of the protector.
