Themes for Rom, APK, etc... - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hey everyone! I'm new to android auto. Just installed my MTCD unit over the weekend and installed Malaysk' rom last night. Loving it so far, seems very functional.
I have this goal of getting a theme going. My truck is called "BATTLE TRUCK". I even have custom vinyls on the side of the truck that say the name. So, needless to say, when I installed android, i figured i would extend this theme to the HU. So far, i have changed the "Okay Google" keyword to "Okay Battle Truck...", and created a live wallpaper that shows the Battle Truck logo in an animated gif. Its okay...but it's not quite the Tony Stark level of custom i'm going for.
Has anyone modded any of the APKs or the ROMs themselves to get it looking just how you like? Splash screens perhaps? Any kinds of tips, pointers, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million as always!

Hi friends! I'm new to android auto. And i searched a lot of topic on here and i couldn't find any solution for my px3 rk3188 1 gb. android 5.1.1 car head unit. i want to make new home page on my launcher but i can only install Car Launcher Pro on my stock rom. and i couldn't find any widgets accept 2 radio (mtcradioblue and mtcradiored) and 1 music (long play widget) on this site. ( http://huifei.fs-fileserver.de/content/ )
and i am searching 5.1.1 ROM like KLD units or KGL units because i can't install any different launcher, all of them are giving error. So i am looking some widgets which can be use like below picture. (i made an example on powerpoint) could you give any idea or link or advise? Thanks for all.

Easter Egg in TF3D

idk if anyone over here was known about this easter egg in TouchFLO, but while surfing around for tweaks for the touch hd i stumbled upon this easter egg, and since it was under the HD post, i thought id give it a try on the TP and it works! in order to get this easter egg:
First, go to the Weather tab and then once u get there, where it says "Weather" on the top screen, tap to the left of the name and then quickly to the right of the name and u should see the different animations of the weather tab....a little something to show off to ur friends or maybe kill ur boredness for a couple of seconds btw this works with ALL TF3D versions, not sure about 2.5 and 2.6(Leo)
if anyone knows another easter egg for TF3D plz let us know
nice news for newbis,
but is already known since TouchFlo...

Your Custom Scenes and Suggestions

Hi!
I've finally gotten my Hero fully working on Sprint, so now I can finally get full usage out of this awesome phone!
I've been trying out different ROMs and so far I'm sticking between Modaco and Fresh's 1.5 ROMs. (I tried a few of the 2.1 builds and they're awesome but I need my camera to work!)
Anyhow, I'm new to Android and Widgets and Scenes and all this, and I'm wondering what my fellow Heroes are doing to get the most out of their phones.
How do you guys organize your 7 pages? Does anyone have their Scene customized perfectly for their use? I'd love to see some screenshots of what you consider to be your perfect and most efficient setups. I'm looking for ideas on the best ways to place my shortcuts and widgets, and if anyone can recommend some aftermarket widgets, I'd love to hear about it!

G-Tab: Observation and question about UI

Finally got my hands on my G Tablet today. I must have the newer one that Rushless mentioned...mine appeared to be a finished product right out of the box. Even the TNT UI seemed to work pretty well. I think it's got a little ways to go to be "great", but it was pretty good already.
Anyway, I installed TNT light after about an hour. I wanted the Android Market and wanted to see YouTube working. Rooting and installing the new ROM was easy, but it leaves me wanting a hybrid of the two interfaces. Most ROMS (maybe all ROMS?) are put together with the idea of running on a smartphone. The TNT UI from Viewsonic seemed to be pretty well thought out for use on a Tablet.
So, my question is this: Are there any Market apps that would mimic the homescreen layout of a tablet? I can't see staying with the TNT Lite UI because it's just like having a giant cell phone. Reminds me of those giant calculators you buy as a gag-gift for old people!
I like the flexibility of TNT Lite. Choose my own background, no restrictions for apps, Flash works, etc. But the layout isn't really "tablet-like".
What do you guys suggest for apps? Or, is there a way to recreate the panels that TNT has?
Thanks!
i think it may be nice to just find really nice widgets. you'll be able to build it all how you want and still have a fast and responsive ui
Agreed. But so far I haven't found any Widgets that are the right size for the G Tab. Anyone have any suggestions?
Maybe I should ask this another way (to hopefully get more responses ).
Is there a way to customize the stock TapNTap ROM that comes standard on the G Tab? It would be nice to have their panelled layout AND customize the background images, colors, etc.
I wonder how hard it would be for someone to develop a Froyo based ROM that is specifically made for a 10" tablet. I've done a little development in my past, but only Windows based stuff.
Have you tried Beautiful Widgets?
If you want a "tablet-like" UI. You can try one of those HC roms~
a HC rom is the way to go for the tablet-like UI, but search for keywords like "tablet" when in the android market for tablet supported apps

Click to collapse
you really ressurected an 8 month old thread to give a guy advice on the UI? Countless roms and launchers have been developed since then, I sincerely doubt that he's still having issues 8 months later.

[Q] n00b help...

ok, there are just a few things I need help figuring out, and the problem is, as much of a PC/computer dog that I am, I am so lost...this Moto Droid I've got is amazing, but it's almost too open sourced for me...
I'd like a cool theme, maybe...but what I really want to do is have a nice clean app for the weather, see a glimpse of facebook, a smooth running music player (haven't even used the built in one yet, but I like shuffle and choosing where the song is playing at, if the built in one has it, awesome), I need quick links, and a grid for my apps that lets me put a ton of apps in one spot, because as great as it is that I have 3-5 screens for apps, I want just one, lol, and I need to have a percentage indicator by, or as the battery icon, not as an after market app...preferably with better than by 10's or 20's only...
If I did a theme, it would just be so that I can have more colorful or neon-esque icons/app icons...but not the be all and end all...
I'm taking suggestions, and would love help or explanations on installs or developing myself...

[Q] Interested in printing currently active icon theme for use in Zooper widget

Hi, all!
I, and I'm sure many of you as well, have a lot of icon themes / sets installed to my device (currently a VZW Samsung Galaxy Note 3). Lately, I've been sticking with Nova Launcher Prime, and I've noticed that I can click through a few layers of menu to see my currently active icon set. I tend to change these sets pretty often, and sometimes I can't remember which one I'm running. Now, granted the answer is only a few taps away at any given moment, but I'm interested in hooking into wherever Nova is storing that variable and making it available to Zooper Widget Pro so that I can stick it in a cute little box on my home screen.
Yes, this is more an academic pursuit than a functional necessity, but does anyone have any idea if that's doable, and even better where I would start?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated
Thanks!
Tom.
